Honestly, I was so underwhelmed with last year's that I have no intention of buying this year's. Am also sick of SI thinking it's acceptable to release half-finished games and then not release a final patch until February/March, rendering any previous tactics essentially useless.

Still enjoy playing FM11, so will be sticking with that

Sounds like me. My laptop is quite old so I've stuck with FM10. Each reboot seems to increase the detail, so I dread to think what the current version is like. It would take 3 hours to get through the press conference before the match, and 9 months to work out how to tune up the tactics.

I wish the pre/post match interviews weren't so oversimplified. You find yourself clicking through the same routine answers before and after a match. Shake it up a bit, SI!

Also, if you lose a match, the fans want to know why "Mr.X" wasn't playing, even though in the previous game they were glad he was dropped. I know Rovers fans are a fickle bunch at the best of times but come on.

Got it for xmas. Using Rovers, almost through my first season. Good chance for the play offs.

Sold Torres (u21) for 600k to Valencia.

Cant buy anyone though. Can barely sell anyone too.

King's stats are @#/? poor apart from speed yet he is a MONSTER on the pitch!

Im playing classic. As for tips i tried experimenting with 3 at the back... that didnt work out! Now just playing a 4 2 3 1

Whatch out for players who have transfer clauses. I prefered to play Curtis Daley( ? ) than goodwillie for a game where all of Rhodes Dj and Best were unavailable. As it would have triggered a 100k appearance fee

at least im at a stage were im making a profit come the end of the month so hopefully i mite be given a kinder budget next season.

Is this worth getting then? I can't get FM 2010, or 2011 to install on my new laptop (probably as it has Windows 8). I just don't want a version that is even more long winded, intricate and complicated than that format.

I found this amusing, as these days I think a few actually would be a bit @#/? off if we sold our player of the season!

The most ridiculous thing I've had (and this happens on every version I've played) is the board selling players from under me...but for far less than I could get for them, and in the context of 'I took the club from Conference North to champions of Europe and have over 200 million sitting in the bank account with the club financially set pretty much forever'. I've always 'cheated' to stop this particular slice of unrealism. I've also found on a few versions that I get sacked (in the same context of being a club's God) for giving an ultimatum on a perfectly reasonable request. All this has happened even when my chairman has pretty good stats.

I've actually dropped in here because I was looking to see if anybody has played the latest versions, and was wondering how hard it is to manage Rovers with the enormous debt and the embargo. But it looks like nobody has discussed this game on here since the 2014 version, which is odd...

I don't think we're under an embargo on FM 2015. If you can get the right formation automatic promotion is possible with Rovers. Steele, Kilgallon, Conway, Marshall, Cairney and Rhodes especially are all pretty good for the Championship.

Gestede and King are underrated significantly on the game imo, and Hanley even worse than real life.

Liverpool are the most overrated team in the game by far. I actually used the editor to weaken them because otherwise they win the PL almost every season for the first few years.

Well we weren't under an embargo at the start of last season, but with our running losses surely we get plunged into one by January, no? New version will be out soon I expect.

In the games I played Rovers did not enter an embargo at any point, but I did notice when we're managed by the CPU we often end up in admin with a 10 point deduction. I don't think I've played a game as Rovers since the newest patch came out though, so it's possible that an embargo does happen now.

I'm making 60m profit every fudging year and they still won't give me a decent budget. I'm a 60m transfer budget away from the champions league but they just don't have the balls. Currently 15th. Maybe I'm just positive.

does anybody know where I can download a really good up to date database for fm14(doesn't have to be an official one as long as its pretty comprehensive) cheers
