longsiders1882 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 its a complete non-story. There isn't sufficient evidence to prove who drugged and raped her so she's throwing a tantrum. He's had this sort of thing before, so he's either a wrong'un, or it is some slag who had a few too many and feels guilty. Non story. This wouldn't have made the papers if he hadn't been a professional footballer and I doubt she would have made herself so available either. Girls swarm around footballers like bees around a honeypot. What Neanderthal attitudes? Did we read the same responses? I think you're over reacting to what are on the whole innocuous remarks. In fact the first few posters express their revulsion for this kind of behaviour. The CPS declined to prosecute as there was insufficient evidence to charge either of the individuals in question. What do you want a baying mob with burning torches and pitch forks or is this you just being a little too PC?....... Now do you get my point? Ahh the old 'PC' defence - almost as useful as the racist card for ending debate. I've highlighted 3 examples that in my opinion demonstrate a derogatory attitude towards this woman, in fairness I should more clearly stated 'some' rather than appearing to label all. You may see it being 'PC' - I just think women seem to get poor levels of justice and treatment when they are raped. On the CPS thing, yes that is what they say, be interesting to see if they are willing to give up their files without a fight - and if they do what they reveal. The simple reality is that it would be better for all parties that this is dealt with - otherwise innocent people will have a stain on their reputation they don't deserve - be it her or the the two men in question.

Paul Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 The other simple reality is society has a pretty poor attitude towards victims, usually women, of sex offences. This sends the wrong message to both men and women. Some of the remarks made here exemplify that attitude especially from the male perspective. In most instances a sex offence is judged on whether one believes the accused or the defendant. It can be a very tough call for a jury.

Their report stated she had almost four times the drink driving limit, a potentially fatal level of alcohol. It said Denise appeared so intoxicated that witnesses described her as “unresponsive” and said “her eyes were rolling around her head”. She had lost her shoes and coat and, at one point, was seen slumped up against a wall. If, as it appears you are intent on championing a "Maids" cause maybe you should choose one a little more "Fair", because you really do come across as coming from the "All men are guilty b'stards. and she's obviously telling the truth camp. Why wouldn't they? Why would it require a fight? Your tone in just that short question implies a There must be a "something to hide" attitude. Somewhat PC I would suggest
Silencio Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 To be fair, getting 4 times over the limit and whether that is 'ladylike' or not is kind of irrelevant here. What matters is what happened with regards to the alleged incident and what we know for sure is that the authorities didn't see fit to charge. I think it's wrong, therefore, that this can be plastered all over the papers.
Steve Moss Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 She also says she hardly drinks so unless there is evidence of a date rape drug in her system credibility might be an issue. Not to mention she appears to be advertising herself as a woman boxer, so she has a motive to create a bit of press. Goodwillie has history and not much sense so he's an easy target, assuming he's not guilty (which I'm not judging).
FGS5635 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 If he's guilty at least we can sack him and save on his wages
onlyonejackwalker Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Goodwillie is a useless, classless, idiot. The new Rooney? Good riddance to seriously bad rubbish. One of the worst, if not the worst player I have ever seen upfront for Rovers and that list includes Svarc, Bell, Quinn, Crawford, Blake, Ostenstad, Grabbi and Davies.
Amo Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 @ 1:18Goodwillie can't even remember his name or position.
thenodrog Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 ......... The Neanderthal attitudes displayed towards a woman who claims to have been raped, with what on the surface appears to be sufficient evidence to cause the criminal injuries people to give her a pay out, is staggering and no doubt the reason why so many woman chose never to report. That bit doesn't stack up. Lots of women about who would claim they had been raped for a chance at a 17000 quid payout.
T.J.Newton Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'm just surprised Mercermaaan hasn't tried his luck with those odds then again getting anyone to believe somebody other than his battery/£ powered wife sees him as F'ble is the ultimate long shot.
Leonard Venkhater Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 If he's guilty at least we can sack him and save on his wages HA! Eat your heart out, Henry Fonda....( Over 50's only??)
thenodrog Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Goodwillie has history and not much sense so he's an easy target, Any history he might have suggests to me that he is absolutely useless in and around the box. ...... Taxi!!!!
Backroom Mike E Posted November 13, 2013 Backroom Posted November 13, 2013 Any history he might have suggests to me that he is absolutely useless in and around the box. ...... Taxi!!!! Not the kind of player who can penetrate.
T.J.Newton Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Genius foresight from his parents. Giving him such an ironic name.
Majiball Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 But your honor, it can't have been my client, he's a good willie.
T.J.Newton Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I see what Ive gone and done there, Doh! (maybe its a family trait and its where the family name originated from)
