DanLad Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Hello all, I am going to the Chorley game tomorrow. Which are the better pubs in the town centre/near the train station? There are one or two opposite the train station, are they any good? More importantly, is there any that I need to definitely avoid? Thanks in advance!

Paul Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I don't go in pubs often but if I had to chose it would be the Malt and Hops on Friday Street. It's about 300 metres from the BACK of the railway station. Go out the back entrance (Manchester bound side), turn left and 3-400 metres on your right.
Beta Ray Bill Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Unless you're desperate for a pub rather than just a few pints, go straight to the club house at Victory Park. It's cheaper and friendlier than a pub.
Ozz Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Malt N Hops would have been my suggestion until it went down hill over the last year or two. Not been lately but should still do a good range of hand pumped stuff. Prince Of Wales is a regular in Good Beer Guide, (On Cowling Brow not town centre) Near the ground are the Eagle and Duke Of York, both totally average. But if you want a cheap, good drink go to the club house on the ground. They have had good beers, and usually have a European "Lager" (Staropramen, Steigl have been on in the last year or so.) Handy for half time pint too eh Bob/Paul/Dawn/CN174 etc etc
Paul Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Handy for half time pint too eh Bob/Paul/Dawn/CN174 etc etc Half time? More like second half!!!! But yes another vote for the clubhouse. Good place.
