It is no time for "I told you so" some saw the problems before others, some pretended it wasn't happening. I protested and protested, but take no satisfaction from the fact. We are all Rovers fans and we have all been done over.

People do need the opportunity to tell their story and be heard. I know that. This MB is understandably full of that.

That being the case, the story needs to be put out in the real world.

Posting old news like it's new news on the very same mb is just picking at old wounds.

Good point about old wounds..people at different stages of loss or something.

I need the story out in the real world, but I am wary of the cost

OK..and .I am really not trying to be sarcastic. So what now?

Do Rovers supporters just crawl away to sit and stew, hating their fellow fans, resenting current revisionism/ previous ignorance, only to maintain the divide and rule and accept the "end"? probably

The rift between supporters has to be mended sooner rather than later. That means focusing our ire on the perpetrators rather than fellow "victims "..(.imo) doubt that will happen

Even worse though are those people who actively shouted down, ridiculed and even physically assaulted protesters. I hope you are ashamed because you, especially, played your part.

That would be 'BRFC's number one fan' then.

I can bet who that was. He's a waste of space.

I recall when we played Swansea at home in December 2011 (more than a year after Venky's bought us and about a year since Kean was manager) and weeks before the infamous Bolton game. By that time it was clear Kean was bulletproof and we were likely to be relegated. Not being a local or a diehard reader of this board at the time I didn't know if there was a protest before the game or not but I made sure my voice was heard inside.

I was amazed at the abuse a yellow protest T-shirted fan got from some people and the comments me and my brother got for standing up at the "stand up if you want Steve Kean out" chants. We were the only ones in our section and we had comments such as, "can't you enjoy the win", "not real fans" and "support the team". It was then that I realised that the fans would never achieve anything as a group - too many people didn't want to accept what was happening or were more determined to show they "supported" their team (ironically sat in silence) and be a big fan, rather than stand up against the damage being done at the club.

I'm still not convinced that anything the fans did would have changed anything, other than a complete boycott which would have been impossible. However, I do think our fans as a whole are some of the more placid and accepting ones and we were probably seen as a soft touch by Anderson, Kean et al. I doubt Kean would have seen almost two years out at somewhere like West Ham!

I'd bet my bottom dollar a good few of those giving you stick back then have never set foot on Ewood since we went down. Ironically now probably citing Venkys as the reason.

Do agree that if what happened with us took place at other clubs you would have seen riots and chaos - Agnew, Kean & his cronies were taking the pisss right in front of our eyes. They obviously knew they could get away with it.

Always remember chatting to a group of fellow fans after a match and explaining that Anderson was Kean's agent and they thought I was making it up....

Does it matter who? The response is extraordinary. Jim is right, whoever came up with that one is a waste of space.

Assuming it wasn't you of course!!

Simple Curiosity 47er, he assumes he knows or has a good idea who it was

No point having sly / veiled digs, just say it outright :)

It does seem like overly harsh treatment though but I don't know / can't recall the exact circumstances around it

Almost as bad as that ban Gav and I got where the alleged moderator completely made up the explanation.

Not that I'm the unforgiving type of course!

I'd say modding has improved in the last 6months. For sure they've been less keen to clean up what appear to be slightly trivial things.

Is that possibly down to having less cleaning up to do in that time? Genuine Q, Tom M (or any mod).

I think I've been less engaged and wanting to let things go when possible

It's not always easy to do though and we have to step in sometimes

Always going to make some errors in judgement as well

Onkly to be expected Tom. Mods are only human after all and moderating is just like refereeing a football match, mistakes can be made ........

........... and just like football referees very very few will ever admit it. ^_^

I'll admit it Gord, I remember numerous mistakes.

Every mod has made mistakes. For an easy life as a moderator, leave it to the others.

He doesn't seem to be around now. He was a bit like David Cameron - over-promoted and out of his depth.

More left wing than Jason Wilcox you.

You'll have to narrow it down, Tom seems to run it by himself these days!

Didn't realise it was three years of Venkys. Blimey. What a ride eh?

If you ever want a good read, dig out the 'Venkys takeover complete' thread from way back then. For all the 20/20 hindsight 'it was obvious what would happen' posts now, it certainly wasn't then. Except to me, den and some guy called 'bob'.

True visionaries I guess. My much ridiculed contribution on the day?...

"This is a great day for football. For those of you, and there are plenty, who don't know what life was like before 'uncle' Jack, you're about to find out. If you're lucky." 19th November, 2010.

Prophetic, huh?

Prophetic indeed, tonight's Euromillions numbers are....?

If only they had just provided the necessary finance required to up the ante and left alone those that were both experienced and good at their respective jobs and would have flourished given the additional finance.

But Venkys weren't alone were they?
