Proudtobeblue&white Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Great performance & result today but this talk of "best" for a long time / this season is a little off the mark I feel. The Bolton win was, to me, the best I've seen us play in a good few years & nothing today changed that view. That said, we were excellent to a man today & good value for 3pts against a very physical Leeds outfit. December will frame our season, 6 big games, all to play for?
Ossydave Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 See the problem here is, we'll always play ok against teams who don't come out to just defend for 90 minutes - i.e the top 8 or so teams. But the @#/? teams who come to frustrate us are a massive problem! There is nothing to fear against ANY team in this league.
Jock Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Cov City took over 7 thousand to Milton Keynes today so lets not wet ourselves about Dirty Leeds. Horrible club with idiot fans who have to act up because theyre embarrassed about the camp Leeds accent.
Ossydave Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 What was the huge Coventry following all about? seemed odd?
LDRover Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Don't want to derail the thread but really hope Coventry get promoted this year. Their fans have been through the toughest of times over the last 10 years and to take 7000 to MK today is pretty special.
Jock Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 What was the huge Coventry following all about? seemed odd? I think they were showing their love for Coventry City FC but proving how much they hate their owners and how they hate playing their 'home' matches at Northampton. Also MK has the stadium to accommodate a large away following.
Stuart Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Agree with Roversider. Taylor was brilliant today and deserved MoM.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Agree with Roversider. Taylor was brilliant today and deserved MoM. Very good 1st half, less so 2nd, yes mom, but brilliant needs saving till we make play offs!
Stuart Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Anyone catch the half time penalty shoot out between the two school teams? My lad was the one who scored his penalty, pulled his school football shirt over his head and ran over to the Blackburn End to milk the applause. He got a great reception - even Gerald name-checked him - he was made up! "Best day of his life". #prouddad
JAL Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Good win today anyone want to dispute that Leeds are not an average side..

Stuart Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Made me chuckle, did you put him up to it?No. Although he did tell me he was going to do it... IF he scored. He was so nervous all morning. I was really pleased for him. If anyone wants to watch the whole shoot out, search for Blackburn Eagles on Facebook

Funny how she smiled when I mentioned him pulling his shirt off as she didn't react one bit when I told her we'd won!
bazza Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Strangely looking forward to this one. Having missed the Reading game, I need a fix. There will undoubtedly be atmosphere. Hope a few of our stay away fans come back, and we get a 20,000 crowd for the first time in a while. A difficult game, but a fancy a sneaky win by one. Thought so, but I was'nt certain. Funnily enough Leeds are 7th too ! Will it be 1-0 again ? Well forecast you two from first page of this thread. I enjoyed the game. Glad to see Chris Taylor given a full 90 minutes to show what he can do. I hope Kean's point-blank save gives him confidence. David Dunn is really the only truly creative player in today's team; Cairney comes second. Dunny seems to be the only one who puts forward-penetrating passes. Leeds battered us from the start and it was 20 minutes before we got into the game. But after that we held our own very well. A good three points. Onwards and upwards for us. I know I would have loved to be on the pitch at that age.

I hope they were taking note, there ARE still kids in Blackburn who want to be Rovers fans and not United, City et al. I hope even more that when they are done they leave them with a club to support. He was gutted he had to go to bed today: it was "the best day he's ever had".

Stuart Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 That's great Stuart, I was telling my mate it's a moment he will probably remember forever. I know I would have loved to be on the pitch at that age. He said the exact same thing to me this evening.
Backroom Tom Posted November 30, 2013 Backroom Posted November 30, 2013 Just remembered he tagged 'and I love rovers' onto his name as well, class How old was he when you got him started mate? Mines two and a half so a bit young yet
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 JR is still isolated.....would like to see him next to Gestede, but who to make way? For me that is easy - at least for the Ipswich match - I would drop Dunn to the bench. Nothing to do with his performance today - just a feeling that we need to keep him back for the QPR match. We have a huge squad - and he may need to tinker a little bit to keep players fit and fresh.
Stuart Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Just remembered he tagged 'and I love rovers' onto his name as well, class How old was he when you got him started mate? Mines two and a half so a bit young yet He went to his first match just before his 4th birthday. The 3-3 against Reading in the last game of the season. He got his first season ticket the following season so this is his 7th season as a season ticket holder (wow I hadn't realised it was that long!). Takes a while for them to get into it. My youngest (5) has had a season ticket since Kean left so this is his second (first full) season as a season ticket holder.Any younger and they spend more time looking away from the pitch than at it, and you spend all your time watching them!
Ossydave Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Was good to see Stuart he looked a right character and Rovers mad
