Soooo frustrating and annoyed tonight match was there for the taking taylor would have been goid for tonite just our luck this season with injuries and absenses

Even if Taylor had been available I have my doubts whether Bowyer would have played him, we have to remember how negative

his selections are away from home.

lowe is a top class midfielder at this level, and will play at a higher level at some point, but possibly not with rovers..

I can't tell whether you are being serious or extremely sarcastic.

If it's the former, I can only assume that you have somehow confused Jason Lowe with Tom Cairney. For future reference, Jason Lowe is the guy wearing number 6 who only passes sideways/backwards, kills any momentum that we try to generate and is generally an extremely limited footballer. Tom Cairney is the guy wearing number 45 whose first touch is virtually faultless, who gets us moving towards the opposition's goal and plays incisive forward passes yet hardly ever gives away possession.

Perhaps Bowyer is reluctant to drop Kean because the alternative is Eastwood? If anyone saw that recent friendly with Blackpool, they might understand why. As for Robbo, I'd be surprised if he plays for us again.

Nothing in that friendly was as bad as that tonight though

CB should deal with that.

I think the point is more that someone should deal with it. Whether that be keeper or centre half. But Kean should make the call. He has eyes over the entire situation as it plays out. He should make the call and you have to ask, if he didnt think that was his to deal with, why was he that far out anyway?

Come off it and just admit that you are wrong and Kean is not good enough.

I didn't say Kean didn't make a hash of it, too, but the CB was first to the ball. Instead of jogging along waiting for Kean to charge out, he should've dealt with it. Safety first.

Talk about Jekyll and Hyde! frustrating as feck supporting this team.

23 points from 18 games theres no Jeckll and Hyde about Rovers

Plus what looks like an uncatchable 13 points from Burnley and its only the first week in December.

TBF away from home we are as soft as sh1te and concede goals from nowhere. We can blame individuals each occasion but when will someone in authority at the Club finally admit that this is far from good enough with the amount of money these players are earning and with what the payroll costs are running at.

I am sick of hearing bull sh1t from players and manager like we are up and running, we can make play offs, we are on the right lines etc etc. Its feckin bullocks and its high time somebody in that club stood and said this aint good enough .

The Club continues to kid itself week after week.We are mid table on a good day and relegation material on a poor day and thats why Venkys will at some point soon get bored of throwing money at it.

Bowyer has brought in a fair few players now and the general view has to be that no better than ok for some and downright waste of money for quite a lot of them.If this was our last shot at using parachute money to get promoted this season then i dread to think what we will end up with when the squeeze is on.

Its a bloody shambles and if we lose on saturday the next home game against Millwall will be like the cup replay-EMPTY!!

The spirit of the fans is close to break point

It's easy to forget after a little time away from live matches how sobering watching modern day Blackburn Rovers is. I've come back from that match wondering how we're not scrapping in the relegation places, we were that bad. I don't think we created any meaningful chances the entire match, even Jordan's excellently taken goal was once again our star player making something out of nothing. The game also made me realise my friends at Ewood know what they're talking about, and a lot of people on here really don't.

Tactically I have no idea what we were attempting but it didn't work. I think it was supposed to be 4-1-4-1 with DJ Campbell for reasons known only to Bowyer playing in the hole, Suffice to say it didn't work. We spent most of our time chipping aimless balls up, and Rhodes was supposed to make the most of this ridiculously poor service. Somehow he actually made one of these come off, though when through he could have gone down to get the goalie sent off and award us a penalty. He instead stayed on his feet and scored - the right decision? Not sure, but credit to him for somehow scoring amidst the creative abyss that was our attacking play.

I'd fallen under the mistaken impression from reading some people's posts on here that certain players have improved, but no, definitely not. I can only assume over time people's standards have plummeted because the team I saw out there was an absolute disgrace, almost to a man. Dann and Hanley solid at the back? Not here. Ipswich's first goal was pathetic (both a lack of closing down from our CB pairing and a huge gap between midfield and defence, nice one Jason Lowe). Our full backs? Slow and endlessly pumping useless crosses into the box that nobody was ever getting on the end of.

Cairney and Williamson worked hard, but Jason Lowe. Jason keaning Lowe. People can wail "scapegoat!!!" as much as they want, but what a waste of a shirt he is. What a group of you see in this boy I do not know but he is, simply, an utter joke. He still panics when he gets the ball, like a kid fresh out of the academy who's never played a first team game. At one point he got the ball and panicked so hard HE FELL BACKWARDS and proceeded to lose possession as Ipswich broke away. I just shook my head in disbelief. This is the guy people on here are falling over themselves to praise whilst Jordan Rhodes gets endless amounts of criticism? The mind boggles.

As for our wingers, nothing really to be said other than that they failed to cause any threat. Josh King basically lost the ball every time he received it. He did look dangerous with the ball at his feet, but the problem is he's brain-dead and will very rarely make the right decision. Nine times out of ten he runs into a defender and loses the ball, rendering our attack useless.

Rhodes made something out of nothing but was otherwise cancelled out of the game by the ineffectiveness of our formation and the shocking quality of the players around him. Absolutely nothing he could have done to solve either of those problems and I get the feeling it's no different in most other games.

I almost forgot DJ Campbell - probably because everyone else did at the game until he was subbed. He got a round of applause from the Town fans primarily because he caused them no problems whatsoever. He has a role to play here but it isn't behind Jordan Rhodes.

And then we get to Jake Kean. Possibly the worst goalkeeper to get between the sticks at this club - certainly in the last 13 years. He looked frightened the entire game, flapping at crosses and kicking the ball so poorly an U11's keeper would be embarrassed. His mistake was inevitable and quite frankly pathetic. The defender can take some of the blame but I'm afraid Jake is just an awful keeper for this level, by and large, and will cost us points week after week until he's replaced.

The worst thing is Ipswich weren't even very good themselves. Organised and hard working but very low on quality. We were just worse and I feel for the 302 hardy souls that had to witness tonight's catastrophe of a performance. They deserved better.

I'll quite happily say right now there is no hope of that team getting promoted. Not a hope in hell. Mid-table would be an achievement considering some of the horrendously weak links in this team.

I said that Saturday...why keep the poor lad in? his career is dying . Should have got Given in.

Rovers couldn't afford his wages. Boro could and did. Need Robbo back but should have at least got somebody where the host club funded the wages though.

I stated in the Leeds thread I was alittle put out that Bowyer had had a small pop at fans for getting on Keans back. My issue is the lad is constantly making mistakes, I have no issue with him as a bloke, infact I'm sure he's a nice chap but his development and learning the game by making mistakes should not be to the detriment of the 1st team at BRFC. Watch the reaction of Dann after the goal, watch the players after his howler against Brighton too they just turn away! Maybe it's not just a "small minority" that are getting cheesed off at his constant mistakes.

Reaction showed a complete lack of confidence......they know where the weak link is.

Ask his goalkeeping coach

Most worrying thing he's making a complete hash of relatively simple things when not really under pressure and away from home. Can understand a few jitters at home if he's bothered about the fans but he's absolutely gifting teams simple goals at times. Eastwood was brought here because he was cheap and i can't see him being better. Although we've lost tonight because of crap defending and creating nothing coupled with a lack of motivation and concentration yet again. Do these lot go out on the @#/? the night before away games ?

If we're below 12th after December bowyer should go, his subs are baffling and his squad selection is very negative. Think Jackie McNamara could do a good job with this squad his teams always play quick 1 touch attacking football.

You have told me nothing I didn't already suspect. And I've only been to 3 games last November since April 2011 :D

Thanks for a great red and what should be a sobering read for many

A loss away from home, against a good Ipswich side.

Ipswich aren't a good side but they have a good manager at this level. We have gifted them 2 goals and turned in another abject display through the usual combination of factors despite having some decent players on the pitch or available.

Bowyer sounds like he's seething, rightly so. We were embarrassing. He has himself to blame for some of it though. I've defended Bowyer in the past but there's no question a lot of what went wrong tonight was down to poor team shape and tactics. Subs were irrelevant.

I do take some issue with his suggestion we were the only team who were going to win the match at half time. Not true at all and grossly unfair to Ipswich.
