Christian school christian rules. Pretty clear decision, either accept them or leave.

Actually I think the school backed down too much

quote

"After being taught in isolation for breaking the school rules, Mount Carmel governors decided that the students could keep their beards so long as they signed up to a programme at their mosque to show their faith."

That's clever, good one. You do though know perfectly well I was not saying there is no point in negotiating with terrorists.

Ultimately we have to. Nations have wars and eventually end up negotiating peace. God knows how this is done with radical Muslims. Military action is needed but eventually we have to talk. I don't have the answer but surely we all agree we can't simply annihilate every radical Muslim?

Maybe we wouldn't need to talk if we had had the sense to heed warnings given in the past Paul.

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.

A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities, but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

Winston Churchill (The River War 1899)

As the old saying goes.... "we have two ears and one mouth we should use them in that order".

Not exactly full of solutions that quote.

Would you also agree to killing every Mohammedanist thenodrog?

Maybe not BUT it's full of warnings that we (Western Society) should have heeded at the time instead of waking up now when the entire problem is gargantuan, our societies infiltrated and any solution much more difficult. Consider these words and the source.

"We have 50 million Muslims in Europe. There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe—without swords, without guns, without conquest—it will turn into a Muslim continent within a few decades." Muammar Ghadaffi

Oh and NO! I certainly wouldn't agree with killing every mohammedan now ultrablue........

............. we should have done it back then! :P

Sh11t eating filth.

I have found myself concluding that there is little we can do about it. So we should pull down the blind and ignore it.

It's too much of a wind up, Scruffy smelly barsterds and their scruffy smelly beliefs are not on the same rung of my evolutionary ladder.

Things were so much more civilised whe we ruled the world, the sun never set.

God save the Queen.

We give far too much media coverage to it, thats for certain. cut off the media and what do they have? If anything each time there is a event, we should highlight the religious laws they have broken.

Personally Im fearful for where this whole thing goes. They wont stand and fight and face obliteration. The Only thing we really can do is cut off their supplies and finances, but thats a massive job.

The Only other end game is if they go for Israel, another 9/11 or annoy Putin.

Nuking them will kill plenty of non-radicals, and create far more.

A man set fire to himself and subsequently died on the canal path today near Raj

Horrible news

I walked the dog around there earlier, gladly I never had to witness that though, wasn't aware of the incident until now, that's quite a busy area with lots of traffic, I just feel for the people and kids that may have witnessed it, they're not the kind of images you want in your memory banks and could be very traumatising for a child to see.

but yet again another tragic incident involving somebody that must surly have had serious mental health problems, when are people going to realise that the biggest threat to us aren't bloody terrorists, its all the poor people with undiagnosed or poorly treated mental health problems that are the biggest risk in our society(most uk 'terrorists' probably suffer from mental health problems themselves which is why they're so easily taken in) but our government doesn't give a @#/?, the press ignore the issue/taboo and the nhs is completely inadequately funded in that department.

Plenty with fully diagnosed mental health problems too. Unfortunate consequences of the Care in the Community legislation.

like I say theno, there are also those that are diagnosed but still slip through the cracks because the mental health system is shockingly inadequate and barely funded(in relation to the number of people that have mental health problems, from people with mild depression to those with that capable of severe psychotic episodes)
