I'm not sure about that. The reasons for the mans spine injury have still not been explained. People will continue to protest until they are. then there is either a trial or no charges will be brought. All this gives ample oppurtunity for looters to exploit the tinderbox. And of course the media will be there to cover it all.

As you say, these riots so far have been very much contained in one or two neighbourhoods, both in Ferguson and in Baltimore. Most Americans won't feel any of it, unless their police force is the next to fudge up.

It looks like it was quieter last night; http://news.yahoo.com/baltimore-streets-once-rocked-riots-quiet-under-curfew-083304224.html

My comment wasn't aimed at the protesters anger, but at the authorities actions. They learned a lot from the debacle in Ferguson. In no time they called in a curfew, brought in the troops, and were prepared. Supporting that were local groups, a lot of churches among them, going out at the same time acting as peacemakers. That and the mother Perth mentioned really helped.

The footage from Baltimore of the mum giving the wannabe gangsta rioter a slap in front of his buddies was priceless

Dunno how people feel about the current disaster in Nepal but the recent earthquake has been devastating in it's effect. I'm normally ambivalent about appeals but I've just donated to the earthquake fund. For one the people are in deep trouble but also because whenever our nation has been in deep trouble the Ghurka regiments have for over 200 years always been there for us.

Is it about £30 million the UK public has raised in donations now

Those poor children, angels, who died of that carbon monoxide poisoning is bothersome, I guess Thomas Cook is not responsible for any of this.

One winter night, there was a car on the side of the road, they had the heater running, had been drinking and were getting some of that carbon monoxide poisoning. Thankfully, they had got some help and averted danger, there were 3 or 4 people in that car.

"Torill believes the police could have done more to act on concerns about him." I fairness she does go on to lay most blame on Choudary and Prophets umma whoever tf they are, but what on earth could the police have done without being labelled racist / bigoted / being anti human rights etc etc. As usual parents of radicalised muslim kids are apparently totally unable to shoulder any of the blame themselves.

I find it very difficult when this happens- as if to completely absolve themselves of any blame- they need to keep a much better eye on what their kids are up to.

Seems most think they are being seen as 'good muslims' within their community by packing impressionable tots off to the Madrassa every night without asking questions about who is teaching there and what they are learning.
