adopted scouser Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Greedy? I'm not greedy, I just enjoy bacon. And steak. And sausage. And haggis. And chicken. And beef. Gammon tonight, it was f***in' fantastic. Quorn is shyyte, and bloody tofu ??!!! What about using rohypnol to rape a woman? Is that more compassionate than the old-fashioned way? Stupid statement. Anyhow, you're thinking of rape as we are discussing farm animals ?! I imagine the initial shock from a stun gun is likely just as painful as slicing an artery(when done expertly)

Amo Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Stupid statement. What an intelligent, well constructed reply.
adopted scouser Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 What an intelligent, well constructed reply. Equating government regulated farming practice with the stautory rape of a woman ? Yes, stupid, puerile at best.
Amo Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Equating government regulated farming practice with the stautory rape of a woman ? Yes, stupid, puerile at best. Where did I mention statutory rape? All I did was extrapolate Mike's own argument to debunk the notion of 'humane slaughter'. I don't know about where you come from, but murder and rape are both evils in my books.
thenodrog Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 Pretty sure it's mutual and ditto for most on here.
thenodrog Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 This is advertising plenty on TV at the moment. Check out the halal on here http://www.just-eat.co.uk/area/bb2-blackburn...and I'm pretty sure the rest aren't declaring it. Amazing that there are so many take away eateries in Blackburn, apparently the town of food banks, benefit culture and poverty yet there are more fast food outlets than you can throw a stick at. Do they do laundry too I wonder?
T J Hooker Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 I really do draw the scum to the surface, I'm sorry thenoknob that there's posters like me and thankfully a good few others that don't allow you and the other small handful of like minded nasty prejudice trogs to run carte blanche over the entire forum without opposition to the vile crud you come out with(even if it is well/over written crud)
Backroom Mike E Posted May 31, 2015 Backroom Posted May 31, 2015 There's a huge range of Quorn products. I eat a lot of the stuff and in most cases I really can't tell the difference. I even have family and friends who are big meatfiends but sometimes prefer to eat veggie burgers over the real thing. I'm also one of those people (as I mentioned above, I like quite a few very good veggie dishes). What about using rohypnol to rape a woman? Is that more compassionate than the old-fashioned way? Killing animals bred specifically for the provision of food... The worst possible violation of someone's privacy, personal space, dignity and probably one of the most traumatic things one can do to another person... Yeah, I see the connection.

The worst possible violation of someone's privacy, personal space, dignity and probably one of the most traumatic things one can do to another person... Yeah, I see the connection. Your original point is that it's more 'humane' for an animal to be unconscious before it's killed. Now apply that logic to a rape situation. Is it more compassionate if the victim's unconscious? If you say no, your previous argument falls apart. If you say yes.... how interesting.
T J Hooker Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 You prob could have found a more tasteful comparison amo haha, but we get your point

But rape isn't something I engage in 3 times a day. Eating is. Rape isn't legal, while eating is. That's why it's a pointless comparison.
Backroom Mike E Posted June 1, 2015 Backroom Posted June 1, 2015 Depends what your eating in public to fair
Amo Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 But rape isn't something I engage in 3 times a day. Eating is. Rape isn't legal, while eating is. That's why it's a pointless comparison. Then why do you care how the animal is killed if it's only eating?
Backroom Mike E Posted June 1, 2015 Backroom Posted June 1, 2015 Then why do you care how the animal is killed if it's only eating? Because I'd rather the animal was humanely raised (better quality produce) and slaughtered (decency).
thenodrog Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 Pretty obvious he's a massive alchohol related problem for some time but strange timing given that he lost his seat 3 weeks back.

ultrablue Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Strange timing? I doubt he had much say in the timing. I think I know what you are trying to say but that's an odd way to phrase it.
Gav Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Nice guy, genuine politician who cared about people. Sad loss.

Maybe I didn't express myself very well. 3 weeks after losing a position he'd held for over 30 years I guess he gave up any hope of ever straightening himself out and drunk.himself away. I've drunk all my life from 16 on and the best advice I give to any younger person is to drink as much beer as you like within normal reason but stay off the top shelf... and especially those stupidly immature shots! (Oh and watch the wine too).
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 2, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted June 2, 2015 Solid advice that Gordon, mixing drinks on a night out is a sure way to end up with a very sore head, same with shots. Though I'm too old for that stuff anyway!
speeeeeeedie Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I found this article interesting; http://fareedzakaria.com/2015/05/22/britain-resigns-as-a-world-power/ Britain's diminishing role as seen by an Indian living in America.
