EgyptianPete Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Its my birthday in December and i got an email from Rovers saying i could have a free ticket to any match this month, so i thought you dont get anything free , and with having a season ticket i thought there must be some kind of reduced ticket, but i duly contacted the ticket office and sure enough i got a ticket for the boxing day match worth £25, 2 seats behind me for my lad, we will now have a great day out. so well done Rovers for a change. Give em praise when its due.

adsfortheblues Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Did same with me, apparently if your birthday is pre season they then offer you monies off merchandise.
Backroom DE. Posted December 6, 2013 Backroom Posted December 6, 2013 To be fair the empty seats aren't earning them any money and if you buy something in the shop or get some grub at half time then they've made some extra dosh at basically no extra cost. Still, it's a gesture many clubs don't offer so can't complain. Hope you and your boy have a good day out!
tkturner Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I got one for the Reading game just gone, nice touch from the club but @#/? me what a @#/? game to go to...

West Yorks Rover Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 My birthday is 9th March (genuinely) .... reckon I'll get a free ticket for that one??? Let's hope those ' country yokels ' from Yarkshire don't spoil it for you.
TBTF Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 My birthday is 9th March (genuinely) .... reckon I'll get a free ticket for that one??? yes and you have to collect it under police escort between 4.30am and 5.30am on the day of the match having got on a coach in Norwich. Please take your seat no later than 6.30am. You still coming??
gumboots Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I got 2 free ones yesterday - son had an email because it was his birthday and when I went in I asked about my husband too who has his birthday on christmas day and they said yes. Mind you, it still cost me a fortune to buy tickets for daughter and grandson coming from Germany, son and daughter-in-law coming from Korea and other daughter and future son-in-law coming from the wilds of Salford
Stuart Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I got 2 free ones yesterday - son had an email because it was his birthday and when I went in I asked about my husband too who has his birthday on christmas day and they said yes. gumboots Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Let's hope it wasn't their flight tickets you were paying for! fortunately not although the food bills could be through the roof. And you can imagine the overcrowding when we also have younger sons girlfriend arriving too. Still it'll boost rovers Boxing Day support, although much to his papi's distress our grandson has asked for a bayern shirt for Christmas. Papi's supports Nürnberg and is trying to persuade Tobias to do so too, but peer pressure and success are a mighty pull to a 5 year old
jim mk2 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Lock him in the garden shed until he changes his mind. Worked with mine.
Stuart Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 There comes a time when you just have to just explain, subtly, that it's a preordained thing over which neither of you have any control. "Papi, I really like Bayern, can I have a shirt for Christmas" "Sorry son, you're a Nürnberg supporter." Of course it helps if it's their home town and/or you can take them to matches.
Majiball Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 buy him a Nurnberg top and instead of his name get 'I asked 4 bayern' printed on the back. if I hadn't gone against my family I would be chelsea and hearts.

gumboots Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Just buy him a Rovers kit and tell him to get his priorities right.rest assured he's had one of those since he was a baby. However, living in Munich, he's bound to want to support bayern. Only consolation is it is his native town team.
Al Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Bound to Gumboots. It's his birthright and I wouldn't have it any other way. My last post was just tongue in cheek.
CapeTownRover Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 cmon Mrs G, Bayern or Rovers? there is only one winner here, and its Rovers lol
Derby Blue Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Had an email from Rovers today regarding my forthcoming birthday. No ticket offer but 15% off merchandise and/or a free pint in Blues when you buy 2 meals. Maybe they've stopped the free tickets, although it looks like part of the email is possibly missing. At least they acknowledge it so fair play to the club.
niggit Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I got one late last night with a free ticket offer. Says call the ticket office and quote "birthday offer" for a free ticket.
