Majiball Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Amarillo....I love your avatars! As MJ would say 'you are not alone'.
tomphil Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 To be fair there are plenty crap home turnouts all around the country on 3rd round day. No sparkle in the early rounds of the cup for most average clubs often even when a big club rolls up. If tickets are cheap we'll get the usual 12k homers hopefully more. If they are top whack it'll be about 8/9k plus the City fans and i doubt they'd sell out at a top whack price. I expect the idiots to price it at Cat A or A+ in the hope of squeezing it out of seven thousand Mancs.
Mike Graham Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I cannot see it being 12k cheap ticket or 8/9k top wack price tickets for home fans Tomphil. More like 5k max whether cheap or top wack unfortunately. This will be a mega embarrassment.
G Somerset Rover Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Aguero vs Scott Dann Yaya Toure vs Jason Lowe Kompany vs Rhodes and Gestede David Silva vs Lee Williamson Going to hide behind the sofa for this one I reckon.

Since when do teams still in the Champions League play their top players against a team from a division below in the 3rd round of the FA Cup?
Parsonblue Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Since when do teams still in the Champions League play their top players against a team from a division below in the 3rd round of the FA Cup? So Rovers v City Reserves, on TV and just after Christmas and after three home games and a short trip to Leeds in a matter of three weeks. Unless it's £5 a ticket I really can't see Rovers selling many tickets.
Stuart Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Rovers will see £ signs, pb. City usually have a massive following, especially locally. At £20 each they will see that as cheap to watch their team give someone a whooping. Maybe the club will offer season ticket holders a discount, say a tenner. City won't rest everyone. It'll be a work out for their squad, with a string bench, in a competition they will want to win.
Majiball Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I can see it being a mixed team of starters and some subs, they have an easy run before us and after us so imagine they'll mix it up and give some hopefuls like Jovetic a chance.
FGS5635 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Do city even have a reserve side. They could field 2 different starting 11's that could finish in the top 4 probably
Guest Norbert Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 We'll batter them 5-0. (Then lose our next 2 league games)

Don't forget there are thousands who have thrown the towel in for the simple reason we ain't in the Prem and they only like watching big sides. Plus a few neutrals and plastic east lancs city fans may creap it up a bit.
thenodrog Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 . Maybe the club will offer season ticket holders a discount, say a tenner. City won't rest everyone. It'll be a work out for their squad, with a string bench, in a competition they will want to win. Why? The bloody ST's are a give away as it is.... they should give discounts to regulars who are non ST holders. If rovers cannot get a decent turn out for this then they are playing in thewrong Division.... and I dont mean the Premier League either! I warned this type of stuff would happen half a dozen years ago.
Majiball Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Care to give me 6 numbers between 1 and 49?
thenodrog Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Dig back you'll find it. Scoff all you want but I warned plenty of times way back that cheap Season Tickets would prove to be the work of the Devil for BRFC.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 12, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted December 12, 2013 Even if it's £20 or so, even despite it being on TV, we can't grumble. As Theno rightly says, we've been spoilt with cheap tickets for years, unfeasibly cheap as well in this league, but that's another story!!!

If rovers cannot get a decent turn out for this then they are playing in thewrong Division.... and I dont mean the Premier League either!Buy a season ticket then. Or a half season ticket.Walk-ons have made the choice not to take advantage of cheap tickets. Plus, a lot of folks have abandoned ship altogether. They'd be straight on the bandwagon for this one. The long suffering loyal/stupid who have stuck around, putting their cash into the pot, should get the rewards. But I'll meet you halfway. Include those fans who have been to over 50% of games this season. Excluding freebie tickets. I'm guessing £28 Sub-5000 it is then.
FGS5635 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 They really need to utilise this game to bring back some of the stay aways. Make it tenner a ticket, try and fill the ground and hopefully get some bandwagoners/stayaways back in the rovers routine maybe. There will be nothing in the budgeting forecasts for games like this so use it accodingly and dont think about the short term ££

FGS5635 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 They're not staying away because of price. Never said they were, but some will be tempted back with it being city. That temptation wont be helped with a £28 ticket, but for a tenner they might just say kean it and head back to ewood

I'm the first to pour scorn on the ones who only turn up for big/cheap games (genuine boycotters aside) when the rest of us stick with it but it would be nice to see a decent crowd and atmosphere for once. Playing City is nowt new to us but as time goes on we may well be praying for games like this to come around. Although if it's cheap we also run the risk of City fans all over the gaff lol
beatrix Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Cant for the life of me understand why loyal fans who are still regulars at ewood should be described as STUPID, it beggars belief.
Stuart Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Cant for the life of me understand why loyal fans who are still regulars at ewood should be described as STUPID, it beggars belief. Chill out, I was being self-deprecating.

That temptation wont be helped with a £28 ticket, but for a tenner they might just say kean it and head back to ewood If they're staying away because they won't support what Venky's are doing in any way whatsoever, and they don't recognise the club as the one they've supported any more, a prospective battering from City's second string won't tempt them back, no matter what the ticket price. There are some fans like that.
