Yes Brazil does still do the breakfast show. I never use to like him until a few years back now when he was an after dinner speaker at an event I was at and he was brilliant and a very nice bloke as well.

As for the rest of the station it is dreadful since it went 24 hour sport, Hawksbee and Jacobs aside.

Really? I appreciate they do only really cater for the big clubs and the london audience. But on the whole its a good listen. Alan Brazil is so dim it becomes amusing, Colin Murray is pretty non offensive, Hawksbee and Jacobs are brilliant and Danny Kelly is a genius. Imo the only real dross is Durham, Gough, Collymore, Matterface and Quinn.

Having read that back I guess its 50 / 50. But regardless, I'd sooner listen to talksport than some crappy local station playing the same music 5-6 times a day.

Same with Newcastle. I used to listen to it in the commute but the stick they gave Rovers fans particularly Brazil and then the sympathy they gave to Newcastle was so blatantly hypocritical that they lost a listener.

It was an easy habit to get out of.

I called the station to defend the fans, after we were given awful stick for being anti Kean. It was the nigh of the Sunderland game, when we went 5 points clear of the relegation zone. The presenter was harping on about how Kean had kept us up, despite the stick we had given him etc. I called to say that they were being premature and I was still convinced that we would be relegated. I was basically laughed off the air and told I didn't know what I was talking about.

I barely listed these days, as I do find some of the presenters very biased and I am convinced that they love the likes of the Andersons of this world. I am guessing here, but would expect some of the presenters to be represented by JA himself!

The vast majority of the presenters on talksh1te supported Kean throughout his time here, that alone speaks volumes for the amount of brain cells the average talksport presenter has at his disposal, or maybe they thought its better not to rock the gravy train the vast majority of them are still riding.

Contrary to what Patrick says above, I’d much rather listen to a local station, in fact i’d much rather listen to nothing than that southern biased, ill informed cr@p day in day out.

I don't think the talksport presenters were alone in their support for Kean. I think most pundits were of the same opinion. It was born from ignorance. They didn't bother to research the situation and the default " a manager needs time " reaction was trotted out every time. But equally I heard Hawskbee and Jacobs give Glenn the platform to voice the protestors side of things on a couple of occasions.

The station is biased and it does get tiresome hearing about bloody Spurs or West Ham. But its 24/7 football and I love football so it does me just fine. And to be quite honest I listen to lots of radio because it's mainly just background noise. I rarely get emotionally involved in the discussion. Mainly because its pretty bland anyway.

All that said, the emergence of Danny Murphy is hard to stomach. And Neil Warnock is a plonker / Colin too.

I turn it off when it gets too annoying. Otherwise i agree. It's preferable to most of the alternatives. I can't stand the bland pop type stations, Radio Lancs leaves me cold and 5 live, unless they are discussing sport, are very annoying too. Classic fm is my other station of choice, but I can't always get into that and its reception is very poor in most areas. alan Brazil is ok by me. He does genuinely amuse me a lot of the time as I don't take much amusing at 7.30 am

The problem with Talksport , you don't know what the presenters really think half the time, because they are probably

just trying to get a reaction and there is a lot of 'good cop, bad cop' going on

They charge 50p for every text message, I have a feeling that goes towards the presenters wages, if that's the case why

would'nt they wind you up for a reaction, I bet they get hundreds, maybe thousands of texts on some of the shows.

The overnight guy Mike Graham gave Rovers fans the most stick over Kean, he definitely goes for a reaction, his show is obviously

the least listened to, because of the time it's on, therefore he won't be paid as much basic salary.

Hence he needs the texts, and he got plenty !!!
