G Somerset Rover Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Or he's off in January as a makeweight for Cairney?Pointless buying Cairney if he'll just be played out wide when Evans returns. Cairney and Evans would be my two, but not a chance that GB will drop Lowe.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 26, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted December 26, 2013 Boos at full time when it's 0-0. I have no words for the thickness of some 'fans' in NO1.
SoldierMo Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 A point is not good enough in this division especially at home this one lies sorely on bowyers feet
Backroom Tom Posted December 26, 2013 Backroom Posted December 26, 2013 So manager or coach? Those who have seen it is it two points dropped as you would expect or did Wednesday play well? Glad I stayed at home
Steve Moss Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 A draw got us to 10th and one win from a play-off spot. I would have preferred a win, but we don't always get want. We created chances and didn't convert. But we did get the bare minimum needed, so Bowyer did alright..
Amo Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Disappointing result. Can't comment on the performance, obviously, but the scoreline speaks for itself, as do Bowyer's questionable selections and substitutions. Almost certainly two points dropped against a relegation-threatened side.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Very poor display today - not sure of FB's tactics to be fair. Think he should have gone out to win this one. Taylor's injury didn't help, but as soon as Cairney was forced out wide right midfield & we had Williamson & Lowe centre, game died. Wednesdays tactics better than ours.
SoldierMo Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Similar game on sunday birmingham held wigan tk a draw with 10 men
West Yorks Rover Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Boos at full time when it's 0-0. I have no words for the thickness of some 'fans' in NO1. Perhaps they think the manager is a bit negative at home, besides if they've paid their money, they're entitled to vent their feelings. Not that I would have booed.
Majiball Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 A draw got us to 10th and one win from a play-off spot. I would have preferred a win, but we don't always get want. We created chances and didn't convert. But we did get the bare minimum needed, so Bowyer did alright.. If he had some balls we could be 1 point of the play-offs. He could have gone to india in the play-offs and then he can ask for more funds and point at the table. I can guess why and what happened, he cut them slack at christmas as a reward. Stuart did the crowd chant for Rochina and then GB sent him on?
rovers11 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Poor result. Draw sounds like it was a fair result. Struggle to break teams down at home when they come for a point. Dunn is a major loss when he doesn't play. Wasn't at the match but from what I could tell from the radio, we were getting overrun in midfield by playing 442 so we brought Williamson on to combat that. I would have started with King and the front 3 of Taylor, King and Marshall rotating which has worked well in recent weeks. 442 is just too rigid. Taylor going off was a big loss. An important player for us.
Majiball Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Within 10 minutes Within 10 minutes How soon after the chants did he go out to warm-up?
Majiball Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Currently a scrap on the mc D car park Rovers V Wednesday?
West Yorks Rover Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Currently a scrap on the mc D car park I blame the additives in take-away food !
Bucksrover Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Good starting line up. In my opinion williamson coming on killed it for us. After that we had 2 defensive midfielders anchoring us deep. A poor game from most players but bowyer most of all.
RevidgeBlue Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Didn't get to today's game but I would start with Rochina behind Rhodes every game. Not looking good for him still being here in January I wouldn't have thought. Also it seems obvious that Cairney needs to be dictating play in the centre. That said, we're not conceding recently, for those who went, was it the case that we kept it tight and missed a number of chances we should have converted?
Backroom DE. Posted December 26, 2013 Backroom Posted December 26, 2013 For a team chasing the playoffs, an awful result. For a team aiming for mid-table, acceptable enough. Depends what your expectations are I suppose.
Cherry Blue Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Well at least we now know we aren't going to the playoffs! Lack of effort, not playing as a unit, players not fit and GBs lack of ability to change a game when its not going right.
Stuart Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Gutted. What an awful game. Feel sorry for the players like Bucks who travelled a long way. Bowyer decided part way through the second half that he was going to play for a point and did so. They aren't going to shift many half season tickets with garbage like today. A chance to go one point off the play-offs thrown away. Williamson and Lowe playing defensive "midfield" is a terrible combination and we don't seem to be looking to change anything in terms of getting a tune out of Rhodes, more lumping it forward, mixed with making him come deep and wide, and have him look to pass to... May as well put Lowe up front if we only want him to pass the ball backwards. Maybe it's all but confirmed that he's off in January - and I wouldn't blame him. 90 minutes plus stoppages that I'm never getting back. The highlight was the Jacob's Join that a few around us had at half time and to wish them all well for Christmas. Stuart did the crowd chant for Rochina and then GB sent him on?Didn't hear it, to be fair. All the subs were terrible today though. Granted one was enforced but still. Meanwhile Lowe remains undroppable.
CapeTownRover Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 big fan of Bowyer, but im not a fan of his tactics and his poor substitutions AGAIN
Proudtobeblue&white Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 How soon after the chants did he go out to warm-up? See back on my posts during the game - didn't warm up much to be honest - just threw him on. Not sure he actually touched the ball thereafter!
