Bucksrover Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Highly rated scottish striker Liam Coogans 17 year old has agreed to join Rovers from Airdrie for £50.000 .... I think this is the way we need to go with signings. Bring them in young, hungry and cheap, develop them, and then sell on one or two of them to balance the books. What a contrast to signings like Murphy and Etuhu - mercenaries looking for one last bumper pay-day with no re-sale value.

The Rover of Finland Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Cameron Stewart moved somewhere within this window. I think he was described as highly rated. Doesn't mean this young Scottish striker is kean but makes you wonder who rates.
had.e.nuff Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Cameron Stewart moved somewhere within this window. I think he was described as highly rated. Doesn't mean this young Scottish striker is kean but makes you wonder who rates. Stewart singed for leeds

Oklahoma Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Liverpool U18 is playing Aston Villa, and then they play Rovers on Saturday… No idea if that's relevant in any way. Other than that there is Copa del Rey and Coppa Italia matches. Norway national team play Moldova… Not that it matters much but there are also League cup games in Portugal. FC Porto and Benfica are playing today. Don't worry, most of their players are foreign...
Oklahoma Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Will Vaulks on trial from Falkirk and Bowyer talks about Rhodes and Goodwillie... http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/ you just have to look for the news at 15h20 and 15h27 Small bio: 20 years old, english, CB Was release from tranmere last season Has played 24 games for Falkirk this season. Oklahoma Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Could be going down the young portuguese route again. LOL benfica and Porto have some quality players in their B teams that will probably play today for the main squad. Some might be available for loans or transfers.
Guest Norbert Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'd rather bin the Portuguese tossers we have before risking new ones.
Leonard Venkhater Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'd rather bin the Portuguese tossers we have before risking new ones. Quite!
Oklahoma Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'd rather bin the Portuguese tossers we have before risking new ones. Couldn't agree more... But I would still prefer that Etuhu, DJ Campbell, Best and Olsson left first.
davulsukur Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I'd rather bin the Portuguese tossers we have before risking new ones. Speaking of which, who's left out of Shebbys clan?

Guest Norbert Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I know Swansea are desperate for strikers, but Best?
Steve Moss Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Liam Coogan to Blackburn for 50,000. http://www.teamtalk.com/blackburn-rovers/9116874/Transfer-news-Airdrie-starlet-Liam-Coogans-heading-for-Blackburn Allegedly QPR have lodged an 8 million offer for Jordan Rhodes and Dann is in talks- I smell BS. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/14/qprs-8m-blackburn-rovers-target-has-odds-cut-on-qpr-move/ St. Johnstone want Goodwillie on loan. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11676/9115438/transfer-news-st-johnstone-want-to-sign-david-goodwillie-from-blackburn-on-loan

patrickvalery Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 If I won the Euromillions I might be tempted to buy a Best for our 5-a-side team. I'd start the prick on the bench though.
Speedie Dived Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 lol good point. the kid may turn out to be a good signing, but no 'Highly rated' 17 year old gets sold for £50,000 in todays football Seamus Coleman did
FGS5635 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Seamus Coleman did Your missing the point. Like I said the kid may turn out to be good, just like coleman has, but clearly if he was 'highly rated' at 17 a club doesnt sell him for 50k
JBiz Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Your missing the point. Like I said the kid may turn out to be good, just like coleman has, but clearly if he was 'highly rated' at 17 a club doesnt sell him for 50k 50k+ addons is a lot for a club outside of the money leagues. As mentioned before, price is never a moniker for a players quality.
FGS5635 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Nonsense. We just paid accy 500k for a 16yr old. Clubs dont sell good kids for 50k
davulsukur Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Generally depends on who the selling club are. It wouldn't happen at Man Utd or Chelsea, but a team bottom of Scottish league 1, it would happen.
beanie Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Nonsense. We just paid accy 500k for a 16yr old. Clubs dont sell good kids for 50k Why don't we give the boy a chance he does not even have to be that good for us to get our investment back and then some so stop crying and give him a chance.
FGS5635 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Geeez things can snowball when numpties cant read. I never said he wont be good. I never said dont give him time. I never cried. I never said dont give him a chance. This started laughing at how kids get tagged 'highly rated'. It doesnt matter what the club is, if a 17yr old kid is good and really is 'highly rated', then he goes for big bucks. Its not rocket science
