Oklahoma Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 From Skysports: "That's a smart move by our friends over at Sky Bet, as we're hearing that Crystal Palace are lining up a loan move for Blackburn Rovers striker Leon Best." As long as Crystal Palace pays his wages, that's fine by me...
Stuart Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 If Best does go, I think that's the back of Dann. Look out for him still not having recovered from his niggle-knock pull-strain tomorrow.
Majiball Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Ouch...low blow lol Bit like blaming for for your decision to gamble your 500 pennies Scouser
roversfan99 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 If it is a choice of keeping both Dann and Best, or getting rid of both, then we have to put up with Best as Dann is our crucial captain.
RockinRover Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 So in other words people are actually buying into Nixon's rubbish? I'm willing to bet Best and Dann's transfers or none transfers will have nothing to do with eachother.
arbitro Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 David Perkins has gone from Barnsley to Blackpool on a free. He came on as a substitute for Barnsley against Rovers in the 5-1 game and was excellent. I recall lots on here enthusing about his performance.
47er Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Then I can see Dann going, as the club can shift a huge chunk of the wage bill there. Id say them 2 are in the top 4 wage earners we have left. Id hate to see dann go but if thats the deal palace are forcing then he's probably gone imo I wish we didn't do the owners' worrying for them. They haven't cared to share with us what their attittude to the mounting debt is nor have they shared anything else with us. The debt was caused by them, by their incompetence, intransigence and erratic behaviour not by us. Yet here we are trying to fix it for them. We fans want the best team we can have and, for me------right now, that means a central partnership of Hanley and Dann. There's been enough dilution of what was once a Premiership squad, why argue for more? If it comes its not our decision and it will be yet another Venky blunder because it will lessen our chances of making the play-offs.

Good little player, busy box to box type of midfielder with a good shot in his left foot. Gets his share of goals which is more than can be said for our midfielders. Would I have him our team . Well he's an improvement on Williamson certainly and maybe even an improvement on the" Golden Child " Lowe.

I'm not sure he's a bit better than willo maybe Lowe is one of the first on the team sheet Cairney is better in the center and Evans is set to start training again soon so i don't think center mid is an area that needs someone who might be a bit better than what we have
Amo Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Good little player, busy box to box type of midfielder with a good shot in his left foot. Gets his share of goals which is more than can be said for our midfielders. That would be 15 goals in 14 years. If that's 'his share' I hope you're not a divorce solicitor.

They should write off the internal debt and pay off at least 50% of the external debt seeing as directly or indirectly they have caused it. It would give us a decent platform to work from without pressure of selling good players. It would also send out a HUGE statement to the fanbase and a few people may start to actually believe in them.
RevidgeBlue Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 So in other words people are actually buying into Nixon's rubbish? I'm willing to bet Best and Dann's transfers or none transfers will have nothing to do with eachother. Exactly.
92er Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Bowyer's already said any signings are likely to be reactionary ones. I'm sure they'll have options lined up should we shift anyone on/quote]This is what GB said on Radio Lancs this week.

Maybe I've been lucky but when I've watched him he either scored or went very, very close. I agree with the previous poster, he's not as good as either Evans or Cairney and I also agree we've got enough central midfield players. Just a shame none of them can turn ability into goals. Let's see how he does at Blackpool.
Swanson Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Norwegian media is reporting that Solskjær wants King to join him at Cardiff. "Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set his sights on a swoop for Blackburn Rovers striker Joshua King after seemingly missing out on Hannover 96 forward Mame Biram Diouf."
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 18, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted January 18, 2014 He's got good taste in strikers then.......
Jimmy612 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Norwegian media is reporting that Solskjær wants King to join him at Cardiff. "Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set his sights on a swoop for Blackburn Rovers striker Joshua King after seemingly missing out on Hannover 96 forward Mame Biram Diouf." Wonder how much he'd pay? I've never been 100% on King. He's quick but ultimately he doesn't possess a football brain. Players like that do my head in. Could we sneak £4m for him?
patrickvalery Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 The thing with King is, if we somehow manage to get promoted via the play-offs (yes i know), then i'm not sure the PL is forgiving enough surroundings for him to fine tune what ability he does have. If we don't go up then i think he can go on to become a very useful player for us. The older he gets the better his decision making should become. But pace is something which worries every defence in the country. Redknapp bases his entire attacking ethos around pace for instance. There have been times this season when King has been frightening. If he can do it on a more regular basis he will have plenty of suitors.

"Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has set his sights on a swoop for Blackburn Rovers striker Joshua King after seemingly missing out on Hannover 96 forward Mame Biram Diouf." Brilliant! He'll be lucky to see the season out setting the bar so high!
Bucksrover Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 He is our only attacking player with pace. His game needs work and he has an ego which may hinder that work. But I wouldn't be happy to see him go
Neal Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 On occasion King has been one of our best players... Unplayable at times. Needs work but he's a keeper. Could be worth big money under Bowyer.
Doug Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I wouldn't want King to go as he is a young player improving at a decent rate. When he came on against city I thought he was very good, awareness, passing, pace and was unlucky not to score a couple. King and Gestede would be an interesting option for a front two.
roversfan99 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Yeah he is important as he has that pace we lack. He has also in my opinion shown signs of vast improvement from last year. Rochina has always looked the same player on the other hand.
ABBEY Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Am I the only one who finds the Orr to Toronto rumour completely bizarre?. They must have money to burn relatively speaking to make themselves the biggest fish in a small pond over there so fork out 90k p.w. to tempt Defoe over there towards the end of his career. Fair enough. Stage 2 of the masterplan, ..........Bradley Orr. I mean come on. Can't they only pay 3 players big money ? Surely he wouldn't fall in the category of star player ? May be wrong though
