Shame he hasn't been given a proper attacking role for any prolonged spell.

I always felt that his decision making (when to pass or shoot) after he had done something brilliant, let him down but with Bowyer's negative tactics he won't see any point in developing his abilities to contribute in the final third. I wonder what a more experienced and ambitious manager might have done with that talent?

Without a blend of players of Rochina's ability, there's a danger of us becoming 'labore et labore'.

absolutely correct.

I wonder how much of a wage he was on with us and how much of that is being paid by his loan club.

It is hard to know how we are doing with trimming the wage bill when we have no idea who is on what (except Orr, Dann and Best.)

Glad to see him go to help reduce the wage bill. He has simply not developed in terms of decision making. He proved to be far too much of a liability in terms of losing the ball in key areas. Hopefully, he will do sufficient at his new club to entice them to sign him permanently. This is turning out to be a decent window in terms of getting rid of the deadwood.

Don't have any issue with letting him go, clearly not part of the managers plans so why keep him. On his own abilities I still stand by my opinion that his decision making has not improved since he first came to the club, a run in the team would not improve this. In his position decision making and final ball is key, you could say this is the reason we haven't seen too much of Josh King in the last few months as his decision making and final ball have become a big problem.

Glad he is gone just because he just wasn't an alternative to the starting 11.

And now we have Goodwillie back... :P

Next that should leave: Nunes, P. Jorge, Marcus Olsson, Etuhu, Williamson, Orr (if he hasn't already), DJ Campbell

We are becoming a team of triers rather than talented footballers. We will win nothing without skills.

Happy with that list. If only somebody else would have them.

Maybe about the same as Barcelona B's and Zaragoza's managers etc did?

Glaring omission of Leon Best! - I Will be delighted if / when him and Orr leave.

You are quite right. Can't believe we missed that one.

I'd have personally kept Rochina as he's a decent option to have if you're trying to unlock an opposition's defence. That being said, GB obviously wasn't going to pick him. Apart from Cairney (who plays out of position) and Dunn (never fit) we've got no creativity in the squad.

Just read on Sky that Yann Songo'o has gone to Ross County on loan until end of the season. Strange signing in the first place that one IMO. Perhaps though, this does mean that Dann is going nowhere as we'd have no senior cover at CB without a mad panic on Jan 31st!

On another note, I really hope we get a decent keeper in as cover for Robbo. Unfortunately I can't see Robbo being an ever present in the remaining games and Eastwood just isn't up to it, especially in terms of commaning the defence, as I've said in another thread. Look at the facts, conceded 3 against Brum, 1 at Leeds, 4 against City (Robbo was obviously in goal for the first) and 4 against Forest. 12 goals conceded in his last 4 games just isn't good enough. I'm not saying he's directly to blame for all the goals but in terms of the way the men in front of him play, I think it's very telling.

Sad to lose Rochina. Interesting that it is with a clause to buy, because Rayo Vallecano have absolutely NO money what so ever, so the future sum can't be very big.

I make that :-

Out:-

Songo - Loan

Judge - Loan

Marrow - Loan

Rochina - Loan

Ribeiro - Permanent

In:-

Gestede - Permanent

Cairney - Permanent

A good window so far in my opinion.

Played on Saturday and had a good game apparently, as did Slew whi is at the same club.

Thankfully orr's contract expires in the summer so getting him out until then is in effect him gone full stop

Who are they?

(No googling now)

Rochina leaving was inevitable as Bowyer obviously was determined not to play him but is bad news imo. We've almost come full circle to where we were under Appleton, without Rochina the only players in the squad with any creativity are Cairney and Dunn and one is being marginalised by being played out wide and the other is never fit.

The good thing about Bowyer's disappointing signings is that they're at least on tiny wages. Marrow and Songo'o are on low wages.

Kean's terrible signings on the other hand, i shudder to think

Rochina has been here long enough to have established himself in the side, he even went on loan and they didn't want him full time.

He's not good enough, hasn't improved any part of his game and is rightly being shipped out in my opinion.
