Shame he's gone but we just havnt been in a position to give him the run of games he needs.

I felt he was played out of postition and would be better suited as a striker. Often felt he got the ball to deep, did something brilliant, but then was faced with the back four and a choice to make. He often made the wrong choice. If he's played as a striker the bit of brilliance could have put him in far more attacking positions where the choices were simpler for him. Ultimatley good to get his wages off the books in the position we are in, but still a shame he's gone as he was an interesting option/project

I make that :-

Out:-

Songo - Loan

Judge - Loan

Marrow - Loan

Rochina - Loan

Ribeiro - Permanent

In:-

Gestede - Permanent

Cairney - Permanent

A good window so far in my opinion.

It just got better:

DJ out on loan too. That must mean Goodwillie will stay in the team.

Looking at the above list, I can imagine Balji having dreams about a marque player again with the spare wages

Turning out to be a very good window.

DJ, Rochina, Ribiero, Marrow, Judge, Songoo have all gone.

Orr has nearly gone, goodwillie will go and a couple of clubs after Best.

DJ going is a real bonus and one I dont think the club expected. Best going would be like winning the lottery and certainly not one the club expected.

That just leaves Olsson and the portugeezers to get rid of and that's the majority of deadwood cleared out.

Need one or maybe two strikers and a winger if we shift Best and Goodwillie as well as the departed Rochina, Judge and DJ.

How have we cleared out the deadwood though? They've all gone out on loan and I'd bet any money that we're still paying a sizeable chunk of their wages. They'll all be back in the summer. It's like trying to flog a dead horse. Or ten of them.

Rochina has been here long enough to have established himself in the side, he even went on loan and they didn't want him full time.

He's not good enough, hasn't improved any part of his game and is rightly being shipped out in my opinion.

Nor was he creative. I remember fans defending the agents cut of £1.6m as well. A very expensive failure. Talented yes, but a failure.

It would have been interesting to see how he performed for some other club in this division, perhaps a loan to Millwall

under Holloway.

Is Martyn Waghorn any good?

Skysports just put Rovers as one of the many teams interested in signing him on loan.

I hope Bowyer is allowed to sign a few players.

We don't have depth in the team in many positions.

Currently, we have 3 GKs and 22 for all other positions in the team.

But, if you consider that those 22 include Orr, Best, Goodwillie, nunes, Olsson and Etuhu, the team terribly needs more players...

Seems like he was a promising player scored well for Leics on loan 2009/10 young player of the year, gone off the boil a bit, still only 23.

Perhaps GB could get the best out of him like Marshall

He scored for Millwall at Ewood in December.

Agreed. I don't understand why people still believe he's the messiah.

@SkySportsPeteO: Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has flown to India to meet with the club's owners the Venkys to discuss transfer plans. #BRFC

That's true as we could still be lumbered with them in the summer and will be paying some of their wages. I believe we are still paying £10k per week for DJ whilst Millwall pay him £16k per week. Why on earth we gave him a 26k per week contract is beyond me!

It does put players in the shop window though and could well lead to permanent moves. I could see DJ moving to Millwall permanently, Marrow would interest a few lower league clubs, as would Judge. Wouldn't be surprised if Rochina made his move permanent either back to Spain.

The loan deals will also help run down player contracts. Orr will only have 6 months left when his loan spell finishes and Goodwillie can't have too much longer to run either.

It will also other players, such as Songoo, to play some games and hopefully develop as a player. Him and Judge could potentially still have a future here.

Etuhu and Best will be tough to shift permanently. I could see the other high earner, Robbo, attracting interest in the summer if he has a good second half to the season and stays injury free.

Could see this happening. Exactly the type of signing GB likes. Young, cheap, championship experience and lots of potential that can be developed.

I can't see Rochina signing permanently, no money in Spain apart from Barca and Real Madrid.

How long is his contract here ?

He'll be cheap though. Think he's got 18 months left on his contract. He clearly doesn't have a future here so we'll let him go for well under 1m and his wages won't be sky high.

It's sickening to see how everyone is going along with Bowyer because he's a 'good' manager.

Getting rid of Rochina is a bad decision but here you all are agreeing.

When Rhodes is gone, you'll all be agreeing.

Sickening. You lot deserve all you get from the scum Venkys.

I don't think anyone is just `agreeing` with Bowyer. I personally don't think Rochina is a good player. He's a skilful player but not a good player, there is a difference. He may well start utilising his obvious talent to become a good player but he needs games to achieve that. It's difficult to give him the run of games he needs when we have Dunn and Gestede who offer more than he does right now.

Who is going to be agreeing that's it's a good thing when we sell Rhodes? No one wants to see him go, including Bowyer, but is it realistic to think we can hold onto him indefinitely?! No, of course not.
