I am not laying this solely at GB's door by the way.My point is that when you look at it closely this is not stability. Its a slide further down the greasy pole.Look whats happening to our squad and therfore the prospects of getting out of this division in an upward direction.Gb is a safe pair of hands for sure but the Club hasnt got a leader anywhere in its ranks. Its people who when challenged with the hard questions who will shrug their shoulders and say''what can we do , we have to take our instructions from the owners.''

That might be true but as long is it continues to happen it becomes ever decreasing circles with less and less wriggle room financially and a downsizing of numbers and quality on the playing side. And we should all know where that leads after a period of trying to defy gravity.

So i don't subscribe to this stability bit.W have steadied to a point of being bang average in a sh1te division but the club is going backwards by standing still in the middle of its debt pile. And meanwhile nobody anywhere in sight is either capable or has the desire to grab this thing by the throat before it truly descends into a tail spin.

I am not trying to be a doom monger but look what is happening-or more to the point what isnt!!

Cheap and cheerful bodies will not move us forward or upward and therfore can never be a solution.

Will somebody with an ounce of authority in the Club please stand up and tell us where this is going!!!

I have absolutely no authority at the club whatsoever, but I can certainly tell you that the club will NOT be returning to the premier league. Not this season, not next season in fact, I will be amazed if we ever get there again. Unfortunately the owners don't really care to much about us the fans and won't be throwing any more money at it. They are doing their best to reduce costs right now and the more they cut, the lower the club will fall. The future will be based on gate receipts, advertising revenue and the odd T V appearance. Not a pleasant thought, but our days at the top table are gone I'm afraid.

Personally think the man deserves a bit of credit here in shifting out the rubbish early...

He probably knows who he wants out the door but sadly they are only out short term loans by the looks of it.And he isnt immune to signing some of the sh1te we are stuck with.Judge, Marrow,Songo' , DJ, Eastwood -just to balance the argument .

But he has done an admirable job as a safe pair of hands in very difficult times. My point is i think we need more of a leader in the club not somebody synonymous with ''safe'' and conservative-which i think is part of what is being said on here

And thats my point-the temprary plateau is going to give way to a helter skelter ride

Quite true and not a thing us fans can do about it sadly

Do you trust th'Indians to choose an adequate replacement Neal? They can't even appoint a competent board, never mind go through a thorough managerial selection, ultimately appointing the right man. For Christs sakes they've had 4 or 5 stabs at it already.

Better the devil you know. Bowyer might not be as tactically astute as you would like but at least for the first time in 3 years he has the brought some pride back to the club.

Unfortunately for us it might be too little too late as financial peril hangs over us. The only thing that could save us is promotion. Is that likely to happen if we bring in a new manager? Not forgetting that I'm almost certain these players would be gutted if Bowyer was potted.

No I don't & I'm not even saying he should be sacked. My point is due certain performances he needs to take responsibility for them. Blaming referee's isn't helping, granted the last one was a joke.

Frustrating as it is to us all, unfortunately, we have to be happy with stability. Without Bowyer, there is no doubt that we would be playing league one football right now, and quite possibly, facing the prospect of relegation to the fourth tier, for the first time in the clubs history. Be careful what you wish for, as we all want to be back in the premier league, but this could be a whole lot worse at this stage and may well soon be so!

It's not about being back in the Premier League... It's about not constantly looking over your shoulder which is preventing us to move forward. He deserves the job 100% but there comes a point when the fans need to be shown some aspiration.

Not a pain at all Tyrone. The team I have in my sig was cobbled together from that link in my sig. I guessed what it was. I definitely saw Haverty play though.

I'm pretty sure my first game was against Middlesbrough,at Ewood in the FA Cup in 1962.

Happier days Den.

The team for your first game.

Rovers v Middesborough F. A. Cup 5th round. Sat 5th of Feb, 1962. Att, 33,714.

Else

Taylor

Newton

Clayton

Woods

McGrath

Douglas

Lawther

Pickering

Byrom

Ratcliffe

We won 2-1 ( Pickering, Lawther ) setting up an away tie at Fulham in the next round. We drew that 2-2. Before the replay the draw had paired us with our old friends Burnley in the semi finals.

Typically Rovers, we played @#/? in the replay and lost 1-0 in front of another 33,000 crowd !

Interestingly we were drawn at home to m'borough in the FA Cup the next season so I hope you've got the year right !

One last point- of our five forwards four were actually born in the town of Blackburn ! Now that will never happen again.

agh but they will be back

Some of the loans will lead to permanent moves, the ones that do come back will have less time on their contract.

We were never going to sell dj with his court case pending.

I think the club are doing well this window. The wage bill is coming down.

We'll know wether the club has done well or not if and when we sign replacements for these stumps that are a of a better quality.

Glad to see the back of Bradley Orr, that little nonce. Crap footballer, who will probably struggle in the MLS. DJ Campbell is another one who I'm glad to see the back of. He's been a useless signing. I was pleased enough when he signed as he had scored goals at this level before, but he's been a big fat disappointed.

I am not so sure about Rochina going though. He has the ability to open up teams and do something different, but also something totally crap and frustrating at the same time. We don't seem to have too many attacking options left now. Gestede, Rhodes and that's about it. Leon Best won't play again.

while its good see the deadwood gone for a while, its also a bit worrying that we will now have to scramble to bring a few in. our bench will look very ordinary, with posibly, Kilgallon, Goodwillie, Mahoney, Eastwood, Olsson etc on it. we really need to make some signings soon, but not just cover, but players who will be pushing to start games. otherwise we are back to bringing in rank average players again

Hil ferkin arious. 3/4 into a window and they are duscussing it now AND they are taking the manager away from the team for 3 days straight after two batterings, one if which was embarrassing in its paucity

If you took the positives you'd see it was only 2/3 into the window.

I don't see how we can sign anyone. Out only option would be prem loan deals. Otherwise if the players we have loaned out don't leave we'll end up with an even bigger wage bill.

Ask Moyes for Zaha before he gets sacked from United.

Would be an awesome loan signing, the problem is that should they be willing to loan him out a premier league team would most likely jump in ahead of us.

Totally agree. Utterly clueless and very crass. Mind bogglingly stupid in fact, and makes you wonder how anyone in the club has the gall to say they're learning and have our best interests at heart.

It is strange - unless he made Bowyer aware that he wanted out. Personally I would have liked to see Bowyer give him one last chance to establish himself - I had hoped he would be the catalyst for a good second half of the season (maybe that player will now be Marshall ?)

Can't remember who said it on the mb about Rochina being a skillful but not good player - but that's the situation we're in with him. However, given that there is so much potential to be a very good player within him, and given that we need a creative player - Dunn is only going to play less and less and must be near to finished - having such a potentially good creative player on our books and not trying to develop him is daft. How much would a creative player in the Dunn position cost? We could have one just as good if not better, if we put the work into developing him, for free but we don't seem to be willing to do this. Given how many times fans have said we lack nous to break teams down I find it very odd indeed that we're passing up a golden chance to get/mold a very good creative player.

Finally!!! A man who speaks my language. This "Bowyer has made us more stable" argument is wearing really thin now... It's right but we NEED to push on now and TRY to get promotion.

We certainly do if it's promotion or bust. Which is what it seems to be from the accounts, but not Rovers behaviour. Very baffling.

More so, I think because I think we do have the potential to go up. We have a good team - Cairney, Evans, Rhodes, Marshall, Hanley, Robinson, Spurr, Dunn, King - all have real potential to be players under a good manager who could drive a promotion push. And then you've got Gestede performing well, and some other big talents in the squad who with the right coaching could be real assets such as Henley and Rochina. And you have many players who're utterly adequate for this division - Dann, Taylor, Kilgallon, Lowe - who are more than capable of doing a job in the team. I think most experienced championship managers would fancy getting us in the playoffs with the team we have.

But if we don't go up and start to lose one or two of our stronger players, our chances will plummet. I can't many of the first lot sticking around - both for financial and ambition reasons if we don't go up.

On the positive side, we are doing a good job at clearing out the deadwood. Even on a temporary basis, every little helps, and hopefully will get some of them in the shop window. Didn't think we'd shift Orr or DJ whatsoever, so kudos for the club for doing so.

Has Orr actually gone yet? Did I miss that
