Interesting to see that the stats are very similar over the last two seasons. However last season we had an awful run under berg and Appleton, hopefully with a better run into the second half of the season we could Nick one of the last play off spots. We have played most of the top teams away from home now.

I think its time that we saw few players coming in, whatever deals have been reached we shaved a huge amount off out wage bill this month which is great but we need to see some quality players coming in the door now.

I personally think we need a defender, 2 midfielders and another striker.

Today

Fabio Nunes

Bradley Orr

David Goodwillie

has all departed...

Just Dickson and Best left to get rid.

Excellent window so far if it means we will getting better players in.

Matty Fryatt and Jesse Lingaard interesting Rovers.

How you know interest on Lingaard? Would be great loan signing! It's been great window so far as the deadwood is departing. How on earth were those players signed by the club and the protesting fans judged by the media?

Last three games? 1 home win, a fluke loss to brum and a slow game against a team who have started picking up points? ( ie against second in league Scumley)

.. That is if you aren't counting the city game?

As for battering- if you watched/listened to the forest game you would realise that 4-1 was not a fair result- besides that's not really important when the result in itself fits your negative whimsy!

I know things ain't perfect, but if you think things are bad right now, I'd love to have heard w

hat you had to say 12 months ago...

Fluke ? 0-3 down and @#/? defending and defending . Goals wernt fluky but awful defending but you stick to your venky love in Lady V.

Whilst your summation is adept at describing the current situation the fact that the (to use an Abbey-ism) Venky scum are still the owners means whatever is built is ultimately built on a foundation of sand.

And for the club to continue for the next 2 to 3 years it actually needs intervention from Pune because the dire financial situation, and loss of all other income streams, now means the club is entirely beholden to three incompetents who live within their own colonic passages.

Not a foundation of sand but a foundation of chicken manure . #venkyscum

At the end of the day, in it's cold light, results are all that matter in football.

Last year I was just as pessimistic as RESULTS were just the same

Last Season

Pos 12th P26 W9 D9 L8 F36 A34 PTS36

Now

Pos 8th P26 W10 D7 L9 F32 A32 PTS37

And this messageboard needs a yin to it's yang as there's potentially going to be many disappointed members. ;)

do you understand what yin and yang is?

One thing that does strike me about this transfer window compared to others for the club is the lack of speculation about actual named signings/loans. It really does seem like the old days when all transfers etc were handled behind closed doors without leaks or names openly put in the public domain. A sensible removal of deadwood too etc.

Is nobody on here going to start speculating on actual names/potential signings ha ha. All a bit dull at the moment ;)

and what a welcome change it is

You can't speculate if you've ONLY JUST devised some semblance of a plan in the last 48 hours.

Day 24 of the window and the powers that be have just discussed it. LOL

Doesn't mean that Bowyer hadn't already got plans in place. Irrespective of the timing of his visit to Pune (which was delayed becuase of the replay) - he still had to lighten the wage bill before he could bring anyone in.

Out of interest. Who would you like to be brought in? Striker, keeper, centre back ?

I hope Evans is back to his best when he returns, really drives us in midfield IMO.

I'd say we need a striker for backup, Fryatt seems a good bet though would he not want to start games?

Guest Norbert

There were probably players listed before the trip to India, but the emphasis had to be on getting players out first. Now he can go to India saying he has chopped X off the wage bill, these players are available so let's make it happen.

At least that is what I hope has happened.

While it is great that we have gotten rid of a few players, the overall wage budget hasn't been fully reduced as for the likes of Campbell, Orr and Goodwillie we will be picking up a percentage of their wages, possible in some cases upto 60% of their wages.

As for leaving things until the last minute, there is still a quarter of this window left and the vast majority of the deals will be done during this last week. From what I have seen GB is very organised, the scouts have been very busy over the last few weeks. He went to India to finalise what was going to be available and during this week they will go for targets that fit within the budget. He would have gone earlier but for the FA Cup reply. It is not ideal, they should be using conference calls or Venky's should come to the UK.

I imagine their meetings in the format of the Kumars tv show ;-)

Think Fryatt would be decent signing but would surely want to play every week. I think someone who can play as a forward and and attacking midfielder would be more useful.

A centre back to partner Hanley, someone with more experience than Dann and who is generally better... Shouldn't be too difficult.

A proper right back. Henley is a kid and not up to the task in this league from what i've seen so far.

Some players who I really like are Matt Ritchie at Bournemouth... Think he's one of the best midfielders in this league. Ryan Mason at Swindon. Heard good things about his teammate Pritchard too.

I think we need a centre back that can maybe play fulll back if needed.

A winger left or right sided, but preferably left sided

A striker

If being greedy I'd like a decent backup gk brought in on loan to cover robbo
