I wouldn't be disappointed at all. Its like you said we need players who are prepared to play as back up players to the likes of Rhodes/Getede and Hanley/Kilgallon.

We shouldn't forget that we have signed Cairney and Gestede on permanent deals as well

According to Bryan Dabo's twitter he is joining but not sure why we need him now that Evans is back in full training.

Dabo to replace Lowe, Evans to replace Williamson.. simple, unless of course you are Bowyer lol

what is Brian Dabo's twitter username?

As for Lowe and Williamson, I like Lowe in midfield but my ideal midfield pair would be Cairney and Evans but until Evans is fully fit I don't mind Lowe and Cairney.

I see Williamson as a bench player to come on and take a red against Burnley if required.

I think some are going to be disappointed at the end of this window...

We are looking for experienced BACKUP players at CB and CF. Varney is exactly the sort of player in this category. Been around the block, cheap wages and will understand if he's not playing every week.

Similarly the replacement for Dann will not be a Dawson or Hobbs who would command big wages, a fee and regular first team football. That void was filled prematurely by Kilgallon in the summer (this is a point I have made on several occasions and is actually confirmed by GB this morning on the Telegraph). The CB signing is likely to be in the same mould as Varney (been around the block and isn't going to set the world on fire but similarly isn't going to let us down or cause a fuss if not picked)

The winger aspect is of course a diff prospect as it has arisen with Marshall's injury. Could result in an exciting loan move (Ibe etc). If they can't get that done then I wouldn't be surprised if Judge returns either.

To sum up we already have too many high wage earners. The players brought in will be back up IMO...we shall see!!

Paddy McCarthy from Palace would give us experience that we need.

is Varney a permanent or loan signing?

Lingard from Man U or Ibe from Liverpool would be very good loan signing. Conway would also good loan signing given his experience of Championship.

If Dann moves then with Kilgallon and Hanley we have experience at the back. Do you think a premiership player who can't get a game is going to come to championship club and not get a game.....unless money's talking. In that case we don't him.

The summer transfer window is going to be more telling of the owners' intent, because the transfer embargo will (unless the rules are challenged) kick in from Jan 2015, so any business needs to be done in summer.

For this window I wasn't expecting miracles. I'm glad Cairney and Gestede have signed, wasn't expecting anyone else of any great quality. If Rhodes stays and we clear a few more of the 'unplayables' out then I'll be happy.

The owners sanctioned the players salaries in the first place so they at least they should honour them for however long a term.

Shaping up to be another fantastically succesful transfer window from Venkys I see.

Oh wait.

Just kidding, I mean at least we got 1-2 new players to strengthen the squad and stop the torturous descend into doom brought on by those Indian kean-heads.

Oh wait.

When was it said that he has the potential to push into the first team at any point?

I've only seen the kid once when he came on in the pre-season friendly at Rochdale. Although he only played 30 mins I liked what I saw. He had plenty of pace and got forward well. Downside was he's a bit on the small side, but so was Alan Wright. For me he did more than Morris in that game.
