King is just a track and fielder with no football brain.

Still think he's had a better season than Hanley, roversfan99?

No but I would say that Dann has had a better season than Hanley. Hanley was better than Dann last year.

How many times have you seen King play fully this year? Until the last few weeks he had been excellent and a major threat for us. He's done much more this season than Rochina has done for us.

Anyway, excellent win. For the next league game I really hope that Robbo is back. We need him alot, but if not I would play Kean, as although both Kean and Eastwood make at least one small error a game and quite a few bloopers each, I have seen more from Kean last year to say that he MIGHT become a decent keeper one day.

Glad to see Gestede score, and it seems that Williamson and Cairney were outstanding in the middle, showing that lowe is not the key player he is made out to be. I rate Williamson higher and have always said that in the defensive midfield role, although Corry Evans like Robinson can be a key player when fit, and we really need Cairney beside him.

Anyone who's watched Rovers over the last 40 years should know that it was ever thus Ossy, the three Premiership years under Kenny apart.

We even managed to turn a certain promotion slot into a last gasp play off place in KD's first season by losing 6 on the bounce I think it was.

Out of all the festive games this was probably the one we least expected to win eh? Made up with the result but its tinged slightly with a hint of frustration that we should have won the previous 2 games and been up there in a play off spot.

Rovers would certainly have won the Birmingham game if the keeper along with Lowe and Williamson hadnt been fannying about.

Tbf, that 3pts ALMOST makes up for the Brum loss. I expected 4 pts from these last 3 games and we got that in the end.

This is where we should remember the 'win some/lose some' adage.

In the last 3 games we've won one, drawn one and lost one - which is mid-table form and about our level.

I think we'd be cruising in the play-offs it we could stop these individual errors from costing us.

That was way more nervy than it needed to be.

Also I can't see why Eastwood was to blame. With Leeds players starting to invade the box, the defender (unsure who it was) should've blasted it out for a throw-in/corner. Eastwood was right to stay back and try to protect the goal-line in that case.

On the other hand jim, if you're going to be selective with your stats we've taken ten points from the last five games which is automatic promotion form.

Edit: tnr beat me to it. It's usually round about now that GB gets replaced by our unpredictable owners..............just when he looks like he is getting us moving in the right direction.

The defence don't trust him IMO. Which is why Robbo's experience is crucial.

Should be plenty of kissin and cuddlin when Bowyer meets Mrs D in Pune. :)

That was a very good win and one I didn't expect. Well done everybody.

Watch the behind the scenes video against Blackpool. A simple tactic is just to get in front of Eastwood and the rest is yours, all yours as hes not the biggest keeper.

Bowyer needs a new keeper this january.

Interesting to see new recruit Mahoney on the bench should have been great feeling for the lad.

Surely if they didn't trust him, they'd have booted it out sooner?

Did not expect a win today at all, makes up for the loss at home against Birmingham.

In the majority of games we've played recently we've sounded like the better team, it's nice to see it paying off today.

Good late draws by Reading and Charlton...table looking better than with ten minutes left to play.

Hope it's not a case of just sitting on the edge of the play offs all season as we keep getting in reach and not capitalising, like against Sheff Weds and Brum.

Looking forward to watching this later to see how we were set up and how we played. Really happy with the three points and always nice to beat Leeds twice!

Ill agree with that, I expected a win against Wednesday, draw against Brum and a loss today, so has panned out okay.

The ifs and buts of if we had beaten such a team are irrelevant, we don't beat them end of. Today surely shows that we should be playing 2 up top and really going at teams at home, with Cairney in the MIDDLE.

I said at the start of the season we would be inconsistent. Novice manager, novice players. However we have every chance of making the play offs but i expect it to go to the last game of the season.

Well done lads today!

A fantastic result, completely unexpected. Bowyer was brave today and adapted the team to this match well. Strange as according to some on here he has no clue tactically. He's proven many times this season he does and today was another example of that, well done Gary.

Let's hope this game has made Bowyer realise Lowe isn't as crucial a component to the team as he might otherwise have believed. Sounds like our central pairing did a fine job today.

One swallow does not a summer make. Another dozen or so similar without reverting to limp defeats and he may prove he's worth sticking with.

The point is we lack consistency to get us much higher. Good wins like today have always been followed by poor results.

Hanley has been a rock at the back this season. Apart from that wobble against Wigan, he's forged a solid partnership with Dann and the pair of them have been consistent performers. The same cannot be said for King. He's all pace but no brains, managing to frustrate both the opposition and his own supporters in equal measure.
