Because you criticised King for only having speed in your opinion, although this year I have noticed that he is more productive.

Rochina's problem is that he has no intelligence and doesn't produce anything really bar tricks and flicks. So surely you have the some problem with him, all he has is tricks.

Again, I don't know what you're driving at.

It wasn't long ago that you listed King (along with several others) ahead of Hanley as potential "Player of the Season". At the time, I said that was foolish, as King's end-product often lets him down, whereas Hanley's form has been more consistent overall. Just seems you're throwing Rochina into the debate as some kind of red herring.

So you are reserving judgement for another game after seeing him for 45 minutes.

JAL likes to reserve judgement until a player has a bad day at the office. Then he can't wait to be judge, jury and executioner.

What was wrong with paddy Kenny? If he was that injured he couldn't take goal kicks, surely he should have been subbed

Their reserve keeper was injured, so they had a young lad on the bench as sub. I guess they didnt want to risk him

At the time Hanley had in my opinion had an average start to the season whereas King had been unplayable at times.

Could have been a risky move, if they had a defender to take the kick then he would be keeping our players onside

Great performance today. I thought the midfield 3 worked perfectly and dominated the game. Hope we go with the same 3 until Evans comes back. Good to see attacking players in midfield rather than defenders because we should be taking the game to the opposition rather than sitting back and making mistakes. The blunder for their goal was the only down side but they didn't threaten much after that, despite the 50 penalty appeals.

Am I wrong? You were pouring scorn over the Gestede deal when he'd barely kicked a ball in anger. Now he's proving useful, you want to "reserve judgement". Pity you didn't do that about Phil Jones before posting this classic...

"Having watched three and a half youth games, got to say, I cant see what Phil Jones has football wise..."

Excellent performance today. I thought Marshall and Williamson were outstanding. Using Campbell and Gestede to support Rhodes worked very well and both gave good performances and their presence gave Rhodes more room in which to work. It was a real team effort and with the exception of Spurr's mistake for their goal it was an almost faultless performance.

Fair play to Marshall he was poor in his first few games but has been great recently and it sounds like he's even playing well out of position

Interesting when I was advocating at the time that he was the future captain, the Ronnie Clayton of our time at Rovers, the young male face of Blackburn to go alongside the female face of Dianne Vickers.

Anyhow how is Jones, Olsson and Hoilett doing. :rover:

Gestede hasnt proved himself yet Chris. Watched him live against Brum and he looked every bit a donkey, though ill reserve that judgement until the next game as it would be totally unfair to rule him out on that first showing.

His first showing was against Millwall I think when he looked to be in a daze. Must admit I have been quite impressed with his performances at ewood since then.

As much a Cairney deserves the credit for his performance today it must also be said Lee Williamson had probably his best performance since he joined the club.

The other big positives for me were Gestede who looked a handful and deserved his goal, Campbell put in a good shift and Marshall performance at right back was very solid, I wasn't sure about him during his first 5 or 6 games but now he is looking a very good acquisition and he's only 22 as well. Let's just hope we can sign Cairney now and play him in his best position in the centre of midfield.

That could be because when they are both on Lowe occupies Williamsons natural position. LW is the better player by far in his natural berth imo. Today he probably was more able do what he's normally good at.

I'd like to think I'm pretty fair with my assessments of our team & management performance. I've given Bowyer a lot of criticism for the past 2 games but credit where credit is due, good win today... HOWEVER... This was a desperation move today, It's ok Bowyer coming out and saying "we need consistency" but when your team has picked up 7 points in the past 3 games then, you don't change it. That decision against Wednesday has cost us valuable points.

Things learnt today, play a team to beat the opposition, NOT A TEAM TO NOT CONCEDE.

Jason Lowe is not the answer.

Individual errors need to stop... NOW.

Tom Cairney needs signing... NOW.

all he says!

Dont post often but i see some massive positives recently.

I am going to stick my neck on the block here but i am certain that we are a shoo in for the play offs!

I think we are close to a massive unbeaten run to rival that of the great kendall team circa '80. We are starting to win away, get some clean sheets and build points. Me and my 12 year old lad

follow them everywhere and this is the first time

he has ever seen a sustained period of success

Early days but perhaps a reinventing of 'Emerton on the wing is shyte but at right full back he's dynamite'

Was great tactically. Though 3 strikers is not best against many teams. Almost impressive was how we played after they scored.

We persevered not through dropping off to defend deep or even through Southampton method of pressing high up the pitch. But instead through really good ball retention. Cairney, King, Marshall, even Wiliamson stood out in this. As actually did Rhodes who played very intelligently in protecting our lead.
