chris_h Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Interesting when I was advocating at the time that he was the future captain, the Ronnie Clayton of our time at Rovers, the young male face of Blackburn to go alongside the female face of Dianne Vickers. Oh no you don't, you aren't wriggling out of it. You had him down as a dud after about three first team games.

aletheia Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Lowe, King, Dunn, Rochina debate will continue ad infinitum because they all have strengths and weaknesses so you are all right :-) Lowe will run all day, covers well but creativity? Rochina has bags of ability but effectiveness? King bags of pace but footballing brain? Dunn –well the +ves and –ves for him are all well rehearsed and I would only add that we can’t build a team around him. New year’s resolutions New keeper ideally. Can’t believe there isn’t a decent keeper in the lower leagues somewhere. Cairney must be signed and play centrally. Evans should return centrally when available. Lowe and Williamson should not play together in the middle. One will suffice. Ideally it would be Williamson. Lowe could be trained to play right back in a similar vein to Gary Neville. Both not the greatest natural footballers. Gestede offers a plan B –ie we can then add a longer game to a shorter passing game. Bowyer to think more positively If GB has to have Rhodes on his own up top, then it’s even more important not to play Lowe and Williamson holding and there must be players who are comfortable on the ball centrally to avoid the hoof.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I find this amazing - against Birmingham in the first half we played some absolutely brilliant football - some awful defending - but going forward some brilliant football. Against Leeds we changed formation - by all accounts again played some very good football. The main difference between the two games was the result - as in both games (irrespective or personnel or formation) we played some excellent football. Unfortunately in both games we also managed to make defensive blunders. Cracking result - but only one result. The more impressive thing (and predicted by some) - is that the SQUAD appear to be gelling (which was always going to take time).

Quite a leap from someone who apparently had no future at Rovers. Anyhow how is Jones, Olsson and Hoilett doing. Better than us?

Guest Wen Y Hu Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Parsonblue's match report is now published to the front page here.
USABlue Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 A great win and this thread is two pages less than Sheff Wed and Brum so we post more to moan than we do to celebrate?
Stuart Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 The same principle sells millions of newspapers every day.
Rover_Shaun Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 More forum members see home games too. It's hardly rocket science
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Thanks for that Parson, great to read about a good performance again.
Glosrover Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Just seen the goals- Spurr totally at fault. Row Z ball. Anyone any ideas where goals can be seen by the 'Sky deny'ers' - doesnt seem to be a Football League show, any links appreciated.......

Backroom DE. Posted January 3, 2014 Backroom Posted January 3, 2014 A great win and this thread is two pages less than Sheff Wed and Brum so we post more to moan than we do to celebrate? This will happen on all forums, regardless of sport. There's more to dissect when a team has lost than when it has won and a lot more opinions on what could have been done differently.
USABlue Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 More forum members see home games too. It's hardly rocket scienceYet a lot of the moaners are the ones who dont attend. Good points though. I suppose I was pot stirring a bit.
