Who else was one of the '300' that made the trip to City in possibly the darkest day of Big Sam's managerial reign? "you've got Robinho, we've got Keith Andrews..."

Aye I was there ... hitched a lift on the Disabled supporters mini-bus. It was at the point in the Premiership when the fans knew we would be beaten 'on the road' and had all but given-up travelling in any numbers. To be honest I much prefer travelling to the likes of Yeovil in the Championship than trooping half-hearted to the ritual slaughter at the homes of the 'Big Six'. Anyway tickets purchased for Tier 2 ... and yet another pre-game tour of the Rovers changing room in prospect!

Just checked and we were comfortable mid table in the prem at that point too. I think it was the constant defeats away from home grinding people down, and that big Sam refused to pick Hoilett or Kalinic. Freezing cold too on that particular night.

It was also when we had a mini ice age going on and loads of games were postponed all over the place. I seem to remember there were doubts about it and it was only confirmed as on about 2/3pm that Monday afternoon so hardy any tickets were sold in advance. Circa 450 there on the night, still crap but taking all the other stuff into account as well as tv explains it i suppose. Burnley fans still dine out on it !

Really good effort from the supporters here. A sensible pricing strategy yes, but I'm still impressed with the take up considering its a mid-week game live on ITV and with little chance of success.

I think a lot of people are responding to the players' performance on Saturday. It's good to see such a positive spirit at the club and the supporters backing the team in numbers.

Hopefully we can push up to the 3,500 - 4,000 mark which would be a fantastic effort. Hopefully will put the City lot to shame on live TV.

tickets and travel (official as I'm taking my lad) booked and was surprised to be on coach 9...hopefully a good performance/result on Saturday will boost the already impressive numbers even further.

Don't you usually use official travel Fernhurst? If you want family friendly travel look no further http://www.brfcactiongroup.co.uk/away-travel/

Rovers have been given another 2,000 after selling their initial allocation of 2,800 >> http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/extra-tickets-for-city-clash-1286216.aspx << great effort!

It depends, sometimes car, sometimes Ewood Blues and sometimes official.

I'm sure you won't admit it, but I bet you are kicking yourselves by limiting the group to just one coach - could have taken 2 or 3 I reckon.

I'll be in USA when the game is played, any advice from our US based fans as to which TV stations the game is likely to be on if any would be appreciated.

Great effort by our fans, I'm sad I won't be there. David Brent get your ticket bought and the party bus booked!

It's a great effort, looking like we're going to take a really healthy following over to Manchester on a midweek January night for a televised game. Relatively speaking a completely different level of interest than for the first game.

I'd better get a shift on and get my ticket (s) sorted. I didn't think there'd be any push at all.

No, but I'll ask.

Done a bit more digging... and initially City did charge their own fans £20.00 but later admitted it was an error and refunded those affected. They said the £20.00 price should only have been charged in the stands along the sides.

I'm going to go in Level One so it won't affect me personally, but it looks like they have put the wrong price on our Level 2 allocation aswell.

Accepting that I abandoned my ST in the summer of 2011 cos of the Venky's lies (although I do take in most home matches one way or another) I do feel that many use the owners as a convenient excuse not to bother going as indeed many used 'packing in' on one poor showing in an FA Cup Final in 1960...... and that was just a few matches after a big style raining on King of the Midden Burnleys parade in the 1/4 finals. 'That was it for me' was the BRFC abstainers convenient war cry through the 60's and 70's until they all died.

Dare I say 'Like father like son' is perhaps applicable?

I dont think it was the result but the ticketing fiasco the ended with a lot of fans never gracing ewood again.

According to my late father it was the lot. The ticketing, charging for public appearances, Derek dougan, and of course the match. We were slight favourites apparently so that expectation lead to even greater disappointment. He even commented that it was a blistering g hot day and our lot walked out in sombre tracksuits whilst wolves strode out ready for action. Truth is that most of the above we don't even raise an eyebrow at these days so conditioned are we to marketing and merchandising techniques designed to hoover up every last penny from such situations.

Yes thats what my Dad and grandad both told me, you can't legislate for Dougan putting in transfer request, but on the eve of a cup final? what was he thinking?

But the ticketing was a disaster, with players selling tickets for inflated prices that ordinary fans couldn't get hold of, that was apparently the catalysts for fans deserting the club and who can blame them.

Its a story you’d think that was more fitting in todays game, greedy, selfish players!,
