Lurid Coat Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Ah FFS, just like the first leg - only this time, I don't think we'll get an equalizer. Oh well, we've still done a damn sight better than several Premier League teams who have visited the Etihad this season.

davulsukur Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Shame about the goal just before half time. Gives us something to come out fighting for but equally will settle city down massively and they might just destroy us.
Amo Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Time to get Campbell off for Gestede. He's losing the physical battle against the likes of Lescott & Richards, not to mention he's on a yellow.
Bundesburn Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Poor goal, defensively. Completely disorganised on the break, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Hopefully City lose sight of it again and we come out with a bit of fire.

FGS5635 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Time to get Campbell off for Gestede. He's losing the physical battle against the likes of Lescott & Richards, not to mention he's on a yellow. Maybe leave as is for 10-15mins then switch to 442 and play rudy and DJ. If we take DJ off we are short of options if we decide to chase the game
G Somerset Rover Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Nigh on impossible to keep City out at home so it was going to happen. Hard to see how we get back into this but it's been a reasonably impressive performance. Henley is having an okay game but he needs to get closer to his man. He's been too distant ever since he got back into the first team.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Well we've done ok but we can't keep 6 players plus the goalie in our half for the next 45 mins. Were did the extra time come from by the way ? City deeply average up to now.

den Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Goal came from a poor clearance from Williamson - I think.
Backroom Tom Posted January 15, 2014 Backroom Posted January 15, 2014 Rudy is the only strikers on our books physically equipped to play this sort of role Nothing is sticking with DJ

Brainfreeze Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Good display first half, would liked to have seen a bit more composure on the ball when we've had a sniff of goal as that's the only way we're going to get anything out of this game. Otherwise, impressive stuff from Cairney again and a real hard working team performance so far. I'm impressed...so far, shame we conceded right before half time otherwise there would be a lot more cause for optimism. However, it will probably mean that we commit too many men forward 2nd half trying to force an equaliser and City will break and score a couple more.
Lurid Coat Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Goal came from a poor clearance from Williamson - I think. Are you still convinced that Bowyer and the players do not take this game seriously, by the way?
des Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 team do well midfield lacks a touch of skill when we have t5he ball. up front I know its hard but what ball Campbell have he has not done too well. how about play 3-5-2 second half
FGS5635 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Apart from King, Dunn & Rochina? Yh I suppose, but none really strikers.
patrickvalery Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Another good 45 minutes where our lads haven't disgraced themselves whatsoever. A few personal thoughts. Lowe - If we don't want him then someone else most certainly will. Terrific performance. Cairney - What a cracking little player this is. Composed and brave. That is in terms of taking possession of the ball when other wouldn't. Williamson - Another who has been disciplined and composed. Campbell - looks very short of match fitness. I'd have Gestede on second half. Marshall - Looks like he's doing a specific job. Had a few opportunities to run at his fullback and chose not to. Taylor - Love this bloke. Real ankle biter. Robinson - Still worries me if I'm honest.
Amo Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I think Williamson's been more than a little casual at times, but luckily hasn't been punished for it.
Brainfreeze Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Woops. I know I said I'd post more but that's a bit much! Sorry!
Proudtobeblue&white Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Woy Keane says City are shocking, as is the game.......knob, a bit of credit for us. Thing is GB now needs to change things, as DJ isn't the answer.
patrickvalery Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Henley needed to do better. He bottled it against the bigger man imo.
moerpho Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Too bad with the goal, but before the game started I expected us to be down by 2-3 goals in the 1st half. Cairney and Henley has been good with Cairney as our stand out player. The boys should be proud if they can keep this up, keep the scoreline low and possibly nick a goal. Bit worrying that Robinson seems rusty and still doesn't fill me with confidence. We're still in it though. Bring on Gestede and see what happens!
Mike Graham Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 We were doing well overall, then Hanley completely destroys all those efforts. There was one man he should have been marking. How do such players get paid for their "survace" is truly beyond me. Hanley is poor
G Somerset Rover Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I think Williamson's been more than a little casual at times, but luckily hasn't been punished for it.His casual facial expressions make me laugh. Like he's chilling out on a deckchair for 90 mins.
