thenodrog Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 It's ok, we're better with no Rhodes and a big man up front bringing everyone else into play. Den and thenodrog said so. Only listened to Radio Lancs since HT Simon but it sounds like when they took Gestede off they may as well have left Rhodes twiddling his thumbs on the bench for all the difference he's made. I guess he must not have had the right service again eh? Must say I'm surprised Bowyer didn't leave Gestede on with Rhodes given that we were losing.

Mike Graham Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Only listening to Radio Lancs since HT Simon but it sounds like when they took Gestede off they may as well have left Rhodes twiddling his thumbs on the bench for all the difference he's made. Majiball Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I think we have suffered because of Bowyer's inexperience this week. We got giddy with the cup replay, lost site of the priority of the League. Again we play the 2 rubbish defensive midfielders. We take Gestede off when we were chasing a goal. The playoff teams push further ahead of us. To be fair to him he tried to change it early with the subs today, which he hasn't really done before.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 To be fair to him he tried to change it early with the subs today, which he hasn't really done before. Williamson was injured. His hand was forced.
Mike Graham Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Well done Accy with an away win at Cheltenham we wern't 4-1 bad tho That's ok then
Waggy76 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Not sure bowyer knows is best team , it is possible his hands are tied by owners.. Robbo being injured for this game was always going to be a problem....
tkturner Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Well, that should be the game the where we all realise that we wont be going up this time... We just dont seem to have that extra 10% needed in my opinion... Top ten finish I think but outside the top 6 for sure...
thenodrog Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Incredible how much space the Forest strikers get between the Rovers lines. Hanley and Dann never step up until after they've received the ball. Likewise Williamson and Lowe do not fall back in time...Lowe must be made to accept that sitting deep is his job and Williamson wants binning off. Slow of foot and slower of thought.
Backroom Tom Posted January 18, 2014 Backroom Posted January 18, 2014 Who's being childish now? I don't know, you? As per your earlier logic it looks like we have concrete proof that we are in fact better with Gestede than Rhodes
Leonard Venkhater Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Williamson was injured. His hand was forced. Watched it. Easy on the eye at times. Some nice inter passing but still soft as s***t away from home.4-1 flattered Forest big time.
ABBEY Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Well, that should be the game the where we all realise that we wont be going up this time... We just dont seem to have that extra 10% needed in my opinion... Top ten finish I think but outside the top 6 for sure... People been carried away .. There's no chance of promotion under the VENKYSCUM
rovers11 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Worst performance of the season. No real desire today and the players looked tired.
cesus Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 STAND OFF, STAND OFF, STAND OFF!!!!!! When the Kean will we learn not to stand off, Reid basically had a free kick. Everybody liked to pat the lads on the back on Wednesday and I said I appreciate the effort from the lads but the defending was awful, everybody jumped up and down and said things like "only rovers fans could find fault after that game". Well we defended to the same standard as Wednesday and we have conceded 4 goals in the Championship, the warning signs were there!!!
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 9 goals smashed passed us this week....confidence must be shot to pieces.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Lowe must be made to accept that sitting deep is his job and Williamson wants binning off. Slow of foot and slower of thought.Pointing out the obvious but it's proving to be GB's Achilles heel. You just know that next weekend at home to Derby it will be Williamson and Lowe in CM once more.
thenodrog Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 What the hell is wrong with henley nowadays He's not really good enough from what I have seen recently. In truth I'm not all that impressed with Spurr either. I'd bring Kane back next week and hope the rest has done him good. I guess Palace's interest will cool on Dann if he's facing a long lay off.
Rover_Shaun Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 we wern't 4-1 bad tho So forest should have got more??
Backroom DE. Posted January 18, 2014 Backroom Posted January 18, 2014 Forest are a good team, whilst we have at best a slightly above average squad and are awful away from home. The result is not a surprise, especially considering we had to play a game midweek against a team which had players worth more on their own than our entire club. I'm afraid we just have to move on from this one and look to the next game. Not much point gnashing teeth over it. As somebody else said, we could be Bolton - or Wigan, who have lost 3-0 to Doncaster. We could also have Paul Ince in charge, another loss for Blackpool today against the mighty Barnsley. Birmingham lost 2-0 at home to Yeovil. Even Burnley only managed a 1-1 draw at home to Sheff Weds. Ipswich and Leeds also lost today, so not sure we've lost that much ground with this result. Could have done without conceding 4, but then we have Eastwood in goal so arguably that's actually quite an achievement.
yoda's brother Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Well done Accy with an away win at Cheltenham That's ok then richard
RevidgeBlue Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Other way round Gordon. Lowe should be a valuable squad member to fill in if needed but not an automatic starter imo.
Husky Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Not sure bowyer knows is best team , it is possible his hands are tied by owners.. Robbo being injured for this game was always going to be a problem.... Can't blame Eastwoord for any of the goals though. He did okay, apart from that he possibly should have saved both penalties
Backroom Tom Posted January 18, 2014 Backroom Posted January 18, 2014 In all seriousness it seems a shocking move to bring Gestede off for Rhodes when chasing the game, I can only imagine Rhodes came on and was isolated he should have been brought on with Gestede there to help him Another game we start in a defensive style and concede a lot yet when we attack we concede less It seems the obvious is being missed for some bizarre reason
yoda's brother Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 So forest should have got more?? wouldn't expect anything less from you
