I heard someone on the radio talking about defending and highlighting the Blackburn defender who ducked out of an aerial challenge for the first City goal. I thought that at the time. I think it was Henley?

I'm not sure he ducked out, as in scared to get hurt, or whether it simply happened too quickly and he did not react properly in time. Whatever, it was very poor defending, although our right back shouldn't have been responsible in the box for their star striker anyway.

I think you deserve the Henry Fonda Award for fairness in court!

On the first count, the neither the guy on the radio nor I should attribute motivation. On the second, where was the actual centre half?

Another tough game [are there any others?],

Aint that the truth. It seems every single game we play we are playing against a 'good,in form or improving team'. Like Sheff Wednesday..............yet I actually thought they were just crap and we played crap too. .Similarly Doncaster.

Anyway, on paper it's a Derby win - and I'll agree with the paper if we continue the anti-football, football I've witnessed at home during the aforementioned Lancs-Yorks affairs. As some others have said, there's not much point playing overly defensive football, we're much better than last season so getting relegated isn't going to happen so it's either play-offs or mid table mediocrity - we need to go for it (but without flair player Rochina  )

Weather forecast says pissing it down - bring your pound shop umbrellas to throw at McClueless :tu:

We shouldn't have allowed a full back to get isolated in a one on one with their no 1 striker. The centre half that should have been marking Negredo was at fault there.

I was surprised to see Derby had only sold 800 tickets up to this morning, considering they have the best away record

in the division and also have one of the largest fan bases.

Maybe a lot will pay on the day !

A bit better than the 450 they brought last season. :)

Their away support fell off a cliff last season for some reason, 2/3 hundred sometimes i believe. Very strange for them considering the consistently big home support like you say. Even some large fanbases pick an choose these days it seems although if it was us being 4th and taking 800 there we'd get panned as usual.

I think Bowyer has a tough call at right back today, Henley is clearly struggling ... Badly! Yet I remember just how badly Kane was playing before he was dropped for Henley. I still believe Jason Lowe had some of his best games at right back, he wasn't rushed at his weakest skill ... Being on the ball! Obviously Bowyer would see Lowe as his jewel in the crown so wouldn't shift him to right back but personally I think it's the best move as it goes away from having two defensive midfielders (who are currently not covering too well) and should improve the flawed full back position.

Both centre halves had gone forward for a set piece. City left players forward and broke at pace. Leaving Henley as the only cover. At that stage of the match it should not have happened. One or both centre halves should have stayed back but with little height in the rest of the team there would have been no one to aim at.

The game from anybody playing right back may have been Ben Marshall. Maybe put him there and play King left wing.

For me until and unless we sign a pacey winger or striker, King has to play as he gives us an outlet and can trouble defenders.

His form has been patchy and he can be terribly frustrating but could also win us a match.

Without him it takes us an eternity to reach the opposition penalty area, (barring a big hoof from the back).

I thought about Marshall but the replacements for him i.e King are terribly out of form too

Another option would be to select Dunn and play a similar formation to Leeds. Dunn could play behind Gestede and Rhodes and have Marshall and Spurr playing more like wingbacks.

Henley doesn't look ready to me.

Correct, he needs to be dropped for the good of his development. Personally I think he needs to drop a league on loan.

Is he? Think thats a bit unfair to be honest. King has been out with injuries and from what I saw against Forest he changed the look of how we played just by having his pace available. He can be frustrating but equally devastating.

Agreed. I think people underestimate the importance of how quickly you need to get on the counter in this league. King has to play every game for me.

My prediction is we lose today's game and GB re-enforces the fact that we need some new players in.

Maybe also a few decisions went against us. Or we need to cut out individual errors. Or we didn't get what we deserved.

I'm a fan of GB but these tend to be the 'excuses' that come our way post match.
