[Archived] Riverside 'not available for relocation' for Burnley game

It's OK. I don't really mind jealousy from the great unwashed who do not accommodate the JW Upper. (Tried to put a smiley there but they appear to have stopped working.)

Only a bit of fun, Al. :)

Bit harsh, DR. :(

If it makes you feel any better, we always run out of pies in the BE as well, apart from chicken balti which doesn't count as a pie IMO.

Whilst we're on about facilities, why the hell does it take so long to fill a cup with hot water!?! Those stupid machines take forever. I hate being behind 'that bloke' that orders "two teas, a coffee & a hot chocolate please luv", as I stand patiently for the next 10 minutes watching the last remaining peppered steak, meat & tatty and even chicken & mushroom pies disappear before my very eyes!

Rant over!

Christ Windy, I thought it was just us!

If only we'd paid that extra few quid to be lording it in JW upper.

Hardly, Gordon. The only people really subbing anything at Rovers is Venkys.

But as you've brought it up, given the much better accomodation and actual facilities worth the description in the JW, compared to the Riverside, I'd say it's the great unwashed who are subsidising the Comfortable Blanketeers.

Oh, and while you've got your wallet out, perhaps you could pay for a hot water supply to be plumbed into the Riverside toilets.

Than'kyer Guv'ner. *tugs forelock*

What for? Nobody'll need it. Washing ones hands after visting the bathroom is just for us toffs rem.

Didn't you say you only go to games on free tickets though?

Indeed. Free to me but still fully paid for.

Ran out of Bovril in the first 5 mins of HT on Sat! If I was running that business and given the profit on Bovril whoever is responsible would never work for me again.

Burnley have announced their ticketing arrangements...

Interesting to note that there will be 3,000 tickets in the lower tier, along with 1,500 in the upper tier which has been designated a family area.

There was talk of this happening for our fans at the away game, but presumably due to the layout of their away end it didn't make it practical.

They were a handful short of selling their initial allocation of 4k last season (they could have had another 1k in the upper) so with it being on TV I doubt they will sell all this season's allocation. At least it means they will be spread out which will lessen their impact on the atmosphere.

If the powers that be used the half a brain cell they posses between when it comes to this game then they could have done that last season.

Extremely disappointing form from whoever is running the club to allocate Burnley the whole of the bottom of the Darwen end and move its own supporters from this area. With this action one can only think that these people at the club don't for one minute do not represent the best interest of Blackburn and its supporters otherwise such actions wouldnt have been taken.

Their actions only add to handicapping a young manager and undermining the confidence of his young Rovers team on the day and strengthening the oppositions hand.

The Burnely fans should have been split into two groups one upper and one lower with no more than 2k in the lower and 1200 in the upper.

How does that explain doing exactly the same for the Leeds game?

Thing is, we have to give them more tickets than most fans, and every season ticket holder in the Darwen End will have known ahead of time about moving for this game.

Totally different team with far less riding on it. The vast majority of Rovers couldnt give two hoots to Leeds United and its fans.

Are you from Blackburn to make that kind of comment ?

I'm pretty sure that the police will have insisted that fans of both teams not be seated in the same stand, so I doubt that the club had a choice. There's clearly also a commercial factor that giving Burnley fans the Darwen End will maximise income from the game but the police decision will be paramount. You might disagree with the decision but I don't think you can blame the club.

You do come out with some dung but I think this takes the biscuit! Why in god's name are you questioning my support because I explain the Darwen End season ticket process to you.

I am genuinely speechless. Unbelievable.

Are you? With that post? :P

Just ignore JAL if you can help it. The nurse will be in with his medication soon. I think he hates J. Lowe because he thought he was getting J-Lo.

£38 BBE for walk ons, 41/43 quid in JW upper. Another huge blooper methinks :(

That's including the £6 extra for the Bournmouth game isn't it?

Not bad for two games and a good idea by the club they know folk will pay £32 for the burnley game and may just pay a little extra for another game

Ok if you intended to go, or are able to attend the midweek Bournemouth game, I suppose £31 in Riverside plus

others prices above, ain't too bad ! for 2 games.

Expensive for anyone who can't do night matches though, Somebody should remind them, this is the Championship

and it's on TV.

Still a lot to fork out at once for some though and another excuse for the part timers who would only show for this game to stay in the pub. Works both ways i guess.

In suppose it's been concocted to fleece a big away support. They won't be happy if they have to pay the coach fee on top of the £38. No doubt they'll get us back next season if we stay in same div. I hope they stick 2 fingers up at this one.

I think they'll fancy their chances in this one, so I reckon they'll sell-out !

Unless they start to fall apart in the next few games, then they'll be very worried indeed !

The worrying aspect is how will the club make up the shortfall in revenue in future?

Whilst we're debating ticket prices and at the same time additions to the squad, it's worthwhile noting our income will be further reduced by £8 million next season. What then?

Your opinion is wrong on a number of counts.

a. Moving rival supporters apart is pure common sense. Contrary to your opinion I would suggest this action shows the club DOES care about its supporters, and is actually displaying a duty of care. If you disagree then google 'duty of care'. Avoiding a charge of negligence is just coomon sense.

b. As has been pointed out time and again anyone buying a DE ST did so on those terms.

c. 3200 instead of 4500 would have meant chucking about 40k of revenue down the pan.

It is also the very first fixture people look for when the fixture list is published.

Really ?

a & b.. So the club supports its supporters by telling them that hey! come and buy your season ticket, but when Rovers play Burnley, one of THEIR supporters will be sitting in that seat - yeh! it really does care ! fantastic customer service thenodrog.

c. I suggest reducing away numbers and splitting those numbers and you talk about throwing 40k down the pan when the clubs gone past 40k making the slightest bit of differences to the clubs finances except booting the home supporter out of his seat and swelling the away support and thus the vocal support that will come with that increase.

People that choose to sit in the Darwen End know that when they sign up for it. They obviously don't have a problem with it when they know they have to be re-located for a few games a season, so why do you?? They can still go to the game, nobody's banning them!
