[Archived] Riverside 'not available for relocation' for Burnley game

People that choose to sit in the Darwen End know that when they sign up for it. They obviously don't have a problem with it when they know they have to be re-located for a few games a season, so why do you?? They can still go to the game, nobody's banning them!

Yeh! get em out of there and get those clarets in them seats.

Loyalty to whom ?

Every club needs somewhere to house away fans, the more away fans a club can sell tickets to, the more money can be made, demand will increase heavily in a derby game. Is this unclear to you? Would you like some flash cards?

Someone turn a light on in Jal's brain FFS.

If you and Thenodrog wish to throw away what little bit of home advantage there maybe for the sake of an insignificant amount of money, then fine. All one can hope for is that there arent too many Rovers supporters out there that share your views.

There's no way the police would allow Rovers and Burnley fans in the same stand.

Thus, however many tickets we gave to Burnley, DE season ticket holders would have to move anyway. Something they've known this season, and all the ones before.

Must admit I would be tempted to put them in the top tier (circa 3000 seats) and leave the lower tier empty, then there would

be far less chance of any aggro and they would be far less audible up in the rafters.

I'd also make it £25 so that our fans could be charged that as well, better home support/ atmosphere for us !

Bet there would be thousands of Rovers fans in agreement with you there West Yorks unlike your K-Hod types.

Really ?

a & b.. So the club supports its supporters by telling them that hey! come and buy your season ticket, but when Rovers play Burnley, one of THEIR supporters will be sitting in that seat - yeh! it really does care ! fantastic customer service thenodrog.

c. I suggest reducing away numbers and splitting those numbers and you talk about throwing 40k down the pan when the clubs gone past 40k making the slightest bit of differences to the clubs finances except booting the home supporter out of his seat and swelling the away support and thus the vocal support that will come with that increase.

Dont tell that to me ... tell that to everyone else on here today who has you down as talking shyte.

With business acumen like that I can see you getting invited to a position in 'The Apprentice' .........

I'm pretty sure that the police will have insisted that fans of both teams not be seated in the same stand, so I doubt that the club had a choice. There's clearly also a commercial factor that giving Burnley fans the Darwen End will maximise income from the game but the police decision will be paramount. You might disagree with the decision but I don't think you can blame the club.

It worked well in the past so don't see the police objecting to fans sitting in the same stand especially if there are less away fans and divided at that.

As a Darwen End st holder myself I can confirm from the outset that we know which games we have to move for.

Credit to the club last season when Blackpool was due to be one of the games to relocate, they did a u-turn when it was pointed out part way through the season thar their away followings even to local games would nowhere near carry the demand for the whole Darwen End.

Send JAL a PM FFS, he can't grasp the situation by reading the thread

Is it an acceptable situation Yoda thats all I challenge when Burnley have a better team and manager at this moment in time.

eh!

You can't set season ticket/seat allocation policy based on who might be a good team in the coming season (and then change it mid season)

I should point out that Swansea and Cardiff fans were segregated in the same stand at this evenings kick off.

If it can be done there, the same questions should be able to be asked on an East Lancs Derby. Don't forget we shared the same stand (I use the term loosely) at their @#/? hole this season, and the season before...

I can appreciate giving them the whole Darwen End but surely there is enough room there to safely segregate us from them without the need to move season ticket holders in other areas of the ground, like the Riverside? What next, only allow supporters at either side of the pitch, behind the goal?

If you got a dart in your head would you claim against the club or just shrug your shoulders and say that you knew the risks when you chose to sit where you did?

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the configuration of the turnstiles in the Darwen End make it impossible to keep fans segregated outside the ground.

I might be wrong but I'm struggling to think of an instance of Rovrs/Burnley fans sharing the same stand. Unless you're going back to the old Longside days.

Has the Cricket Field stand ever ben 50/50? I've only ever missed one there and can't recall it

We shared the same stand a few years ago at their hovel, 50/50 premiership season.

burnley sold season tickets in the cricket field stand due to the number of loyal clarets that emerged from the woodwork when promoted.

I was in the Darwen end in 2009 when we shared it with them.

I notice that rovers are doing a burnley and Bournemouth double - normal price for burnley game then 6 quid for Bournemouth. Cheapest 31 for both games in riverside. Obviously can buy solely for burnley game too.
