Bluemonday BRFC Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 If you got a dart in your head would you claim against the club or just shrug your shoulders and say that you knew the risks when you chose to sit where you did? If you would have read my post you would have noted that I said that there is enough space in the Darwen End to safely segregate supporters without having to move home fans in other stands of the ground. So I don't think there is any likelihood of getting a dart in the head, unless its propelled by a @#/? cross bow... I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the configuration of the turnstiles in the Darwen End make it impossible to keep fans segregated outside the ground. Last season at Ewood home fans in the Riverside were segregated, inside and out, from the dingles in the Darwen End so not sure about that?

Gav Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I take it you've never seen our gates pre 1992. I was part of them.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 9, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted February 9, 2014 WHY? ..it's been done before with no problem. I will say again that the hype surrounding this fixture is on a level of bull unprecedented! I don't know, you'd have to ask Lancs boys in blue. As for your second part, completely agree.
adsfortheblues Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the configuration of the turnstiles in the Darwen End make it impossible to keep fans segregated outside the ground. That's rubbish definitely mate.
pk1875 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the configuration of the turnstiles in the Darwen End make it impossible to keep fans segregated outside the ground. Given that the Burnley fans are brought in hours before kick off into a fenced off Car park and then kept on the ground after full time, that should sort that problem.
ABBEY Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 We shared the same stand a few years ago at their hovel, 50/50 premiership season. burnley sold season tickets in the cricket field stand due to the number of loyal clarets that emerged from the woodwork when promoted. Aye and I went home with black eye as dingles came thru an unlocked door and thru stuff.
Gav Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Aye and I went home with black eye as dingles came thru an unlocked door and thru stuff. You're an easy (big) target, they'd have missed me! Funniest thing I saw that day was one Rovers fan being led away in cuffs having been arrested for throwing his trainers at the dingles across no mans land, priceless!
West Yorks Rover Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Dont tell that to me ... tell that to everyone else on here today who has you down as talking shyte. With business acumen like that I can see you getting invited to a position in 'The Apprentice' ......... ............. as teaboy. BRFC is hardly a normal business these days and 1500 extra dingles would I imagine, just about pay Leon Best's wages for a week, so peanuts in our current situation. Btw I don't watch crap like that, it's just another vehicle for the BBC to create, yet more celebrities, just what we fecking well need !!! PS, I wouldn't mind being 'teaboy' as long as I earned a 'living wage' let's say £12 per hour, I would imagine the job would give me plenty of time to sign everyone up for the ' Union '

An act of kindness and you get arrested, could only happen only in Royston Vassey, maybe the trainers were not extra, extra wide fitting
Hasta Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 According to the LT, Burnley have refused a police request to move the kick off of their home game with Leeds forward. A sign that at least one of the clubs is unhappy with police dictating fixture times unnecessary.
BlueMonday Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 The Police are slowly trying to kill this fixture off.

Hasta Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 If Sky wanted to cover it and change the kick off time they would have done it like a shot. True but they don't. And when our game got moved sky didn't then either.
barry_ Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 They are allowing Rovers fans to relocate and they are leaving swathes of empty seats in both corners of the Darwen End Lower. I wasn't aware that they are not allowing season ticket holders from the Darwen End to move into the Riverside, so I'll ask about it at Fans Forum. I was aware that they were going to relocate a small number of Riverside ST holders in the affected blocks. At the meeting we asked that they should be allowed to sit either elsewhere in the Riverside or in the Blackburn End or the Jack Walker, to which they agreed. As you can see (apart from section E04) the Riverside is open for general sales, which means that the only people being penalised here are Season ticket holders. These are supporters who go week in week out, and it can only be that the club sees the DE season ticket holders as 'troublemakers' and decided to stop them relocating to the Riverside. When you go to the FF (tonight?) can you ask about this.

Groups of supporters who spend more time turned around singing to their mates and hurling insults at and goading away fans than they do watching the match? Why would anyone think that?

Goading away fans? Supporting the team by singing?? Oh no!! how shocking... who would've thought that happens at a football game.

Please carry on cos I'm all for that kind of thing behind both goals. ..... keeps the plebs out of the JW!

When you go to the FF (tonight?) can you ask about this. The Forum was last night and we did discuss this. The club have decided to not let Darwen End ST holders relocate to the Riverside. They are making every effort to avoid the trouble that was in the Riverside at the game last season and they suspect that a small number of individuals who transferred from the Darwen End last year were involved in the trouble. So you're right in that innocent Darwen End ST holders are being penalised for the actions of a minority, which is unfortunate. But it's difficult to see how they can isolate the troublemakers. There has been trouble at other games earlier this season in the Darwen End and a few fans have received banning orders. In any event there are two other stands that you can relocate to and the club have facilitated Ben's efforts to get a group of singing fans together in the JW Lower as outlined above. You're right in that the Riverside is open for sales but these sales are being heavily monitored. Much of the trouble last season came from "fans" who had not bought tickets for many years until that game and anyone in that category will not get a ticket.

Absolutely priceless.
ABBEY Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 any truth in the rumours doing the rounds that the dingles are struggling to get coaches for the game due to them wrecking a few last season?

That would rule me out then should I have been home visiting family. I wonder where they draw the line between occasional attendees, returning to the fold lapsed fans, and people who come for a punch up once a decade?
only2garners Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 This is only for those with no recent record of purchase except maybe for the game last year who want to go in the Riverside again. They would be fine with anyone in your situation if you explained your circumstances.
Ben-2000 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Just an update on the Darwen End relocation area. Our block in W02 is selling very well which is very pleasing at this early stage. Hopefully the 'Double Deal' is encouraging more to attend... and if you want to be in the Darwen End for Bournemouth you can do so (in other words you don't have to have the same seat for both games). If you normally occupy the Darwen End, come & join the growing numbers in the W02 block (seat numbers start at no.47) for Burnley!

This is typical club/police lies, and is complete bunkum. I was in the corner of the Riverside last season and saw probably 4 or 5 lads my age that fit into this category, who like me stood and watched the game and celebrated like we'd won the league when Dunny stuck it up the dingles once again. What actual trouble are the club/police claiming took place? Because I was there and saw 1 seat thrown by a dingle and 1 plastic coke bottle thrown, that was it. When the police moved the Rovers fans back they moved and that was that. Lies lies and more lies to keep up the pretence its a potential blood bath, disgusting! Whilst I’m at it, all credit to burnley for telling the police they’re not moving the Leeds game, its about time the clubs stood up to the police
T.J.Newton Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I agree, I was in w03 riverside last year and didnt see anything to excessive going on other than verbals and hand gestures.
