Rover_Shaun Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 What the difference playing a full back at centre back or a raw wet behind the ears young rookie? None whatsoever Centre back has been a blinding problem staring us all in the face for about 4 seasons.......all except the manager it seems

sharpysharps Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The Dabo signing seems really weird now considering he's not kicked a ball for the first team yet, well over a month after joining. A loan deal for a centre half would have been much more welcome. Michael Keane on loan is fine with me. Will probably go on to become a solid championship defender having had stints at Leicester and Derby already. Just get the deal done today so he has a couple days training with his new team mates. It's likely whoever comes in will be starting on Sunday.
Backroom Tom Posted March 5, 2014 Author Backroom Posted March 5, 2014 We don't allow Dabo doubt in here thank you very much
perthblue02 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 We don't allow Dabo doubt in here thank you very much Starting to think your man love for Dabo is because he sounds like a character out of Jungle book , can imagine you in your mickey mouse club t-shirt walking round singing Da -boooo, wanna be like youuuuu
Backroom Tom Posted March 5, 2014 Author Backroom Posted March 5, 2014 Dabo has scored twice for the under 21s this season Abbey - how many has Rhodes got? Exactly! Dabo up top Sunday with Varney
G Somerset Rover Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Wednesday lunchtime now...4 days after our tonking at Bolton. You'd have hoped that somebody would have come in by now and given maximum time to settle in with his new team mates before our biggest match of the season. Even if Hanley/Killa have made miraculous recoveries we need somebody in before this fixture. You wouldn't back either of them to last 90 mins.
JBiz Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Without trying to defend anyone; (as I am so often accused!) It is never easy to bring in players for nothing, who will improve the team. It's a lot easier in May/June/July because thats when managers change, contracts end, and players consider their future. Trying to bring in quality outside of transfer windows is never easy. That is not taking away from the fact that they should have considered this outcome whilst the transfer window was open! That said, don't expect us to bring in anyone before Sunday. I think we will struggle trying to find players better than the ones we have lent out, and therefore if we can - I'd bring back the lad from Rochdale as backup. He looks a decent player and cannot be too far away from a backup player at Ewood.
Neal Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Come the end of the season, I'd like to see us sell Lowe (any takers?) and bring in either Ritchie from Bournemouth or Clayton from Huddersfield. Proper midfielders.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Jbizzle - I don't think that many of us are asking for a centre half better than Hanley and Killa. We just want somebody in who is a recognised centre half. Like you say, why not bring O'Connell back?
AggyBlue Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Don't worry venkys have it covered. It's the Rao family now, not Venky's.
chaddyrovers Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 If Bowyer wants Michael Keane in. he will be waiting for him to finish on England under 21 duty. Also We are looking for another centre back and maybe even another midfielder. Also in the O'Connell loan deal they might NOT BE recall clause in the loan deal for him.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Maybe Derek's fax machine has buggered again? The trust uploaded a picture of him earlier on Twitter. He's looking absolutely massive.
arbitro Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I have had a Burnley fan asking me twice daily if we have brought a centre half in yet because he knows that their chances of beating us are greatly increased by our lack of centre backs. What part of that does Shaw, Bowyer, Silvester, Venkys or anybody in the asylum not understand. We are staring down the barrel and these clowns don't seem to see it.
USABlue Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Do we really want another Keane, haven't had much luck with them thus far.
Backroom Mike E Posted March 5, 2014 Backroom Posted March 5, 2014 Do we really want another Keane, haven't had much luck with them thus far. 'Keane' and 'Kean'. That little difference might count for a lot
ABBEY Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 It's the Rao family now, not Venky's. VENKYSCUM suffices Also We are looking for another centre back and maybe even another midfielder. . Go on I will bite ...you know this as fact because...........
Backroom Tom Posted March 5, 2014 Author Backroom Posted March 5, 2014 He was starting until a pesky 'admin error' popped up
chaddyrovers Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Abbey, this info is from Alan Nixon. he was 100% right that Hanley was injured. also correct that Rovers wanted Keane from Utd. also LT reported this week aswell dont forget. We will most likely need two centre backs in if Kilgallon and Hanley are both injured more. we need to get this sorted asap.
Backroom Tom Posted March 5, 2014 Author Backroom Posted March 5, 2014 He was also 100% incorrect that we had a £50m budget and that Rhodes was going to Bolton
chaddyrovers Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 yes Tom M, he was incorrect on the 50 mil budget granted BUT has got a lot of stories correct. just like any journalist does. they DONT ALWAYS get everything 100% correct. don't think he ever said Bolton were going to Rhodes, just that Bolton and their manager Freedman had a interest in Rhodes and wanted to sign him.
1864roverite Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The issue with Keane and him missing from tonights U21 match is intriguing. was he injured and then withdrew or has he made his way to Ewood to sign for the rest of the season?
