what gets me more than anything, is when we have possesion and keep hold of the ball and someone makes a backwards pass and people moan..........WE STILL HAVE THE BALL FFS!!

then they pass it back to the goalie and he lumps it forward and we lose possession.

why do the English argue, threaten each other with violence then do nothing? what do you get out of it, besides looking foolish? it is only a game, i know its gets very heated because something people love ie the club and its team, but its a strange one, as it only happens in certain sports. its very rare that people will react like that in cricket, unless its the English team :)

Have you been to an India v Pakistan cricket match

dont win owt if you dont go forward :P

"Ged it foraaad!!" then when it goes foraad a few times it quickly becomes "Ged it on't deck ffs!". If it wasn't so annoying it would be funny. No wonder some snap and tell them to shut it.

Did he really ask for that!

His post was mainly about sport fans from what I can see.

No it was about the English,

I don't recall there being trouble in many England matches. India vs. Pakistan maybe, but not England. Still it is funny to get a lecture on tolerance and getting along with neighbours from someone in South Africa.

What is so special about families being present. If the families are so upset then go in the designated areas for families

A dreadful and boorish comment.

Whereas Muslims on the other hand just kill one another. :(

Sorry but you asked for that.

Another reason I don't visit this message board much these days.

Pretty terrible post from Al but I think its purpose was to demonstrate that people can say what they like about English people with complete impunity, and even illicit very little reaction in comparison.

I'd say his point was proven...

Really wolfie? What are the others?

Really wolfie? What are the others?

Maybe wolfie is the sensitive type

It was clearly a tongue in cheek remark from Al. The reactions show how precious people can get about religion.

Nobody is above criticism....

As if Al intended to have a point, it was clearly just an of the cuff remark that he thought was clever and funny.

Tell that to Wolfie

i didnt mean anything untoward by the comment about Cricket and the English, was meant to be a joke re the Ashes series as there was alot of aggresion on twitter after the losses. but anyway, was just a simple question i asked.

You're absolutely right CTR. We English should follow the example set by your fellow South Africans. Us bloody English are rotten to the core. And if you disagree with me then I'll stick this ashtray into your boat race.

No, Al's comment was un called for and I understand where Wolfies coming from, my point was that Al didn't even have a point, he was just making an ignorant snidey comment.

In my experience fans v fans (of the same persuasion) can often have its basis in alcohol. The same people without that stimulus, would have the same debate but without the venom.
