Ozz Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Bob Saxtons team from 83-ish to 86 picked itself. Mainly because we never had the money to replace anyone. Gennoe Rathbone Faz Keeley Branagan Miller Barker Brotherston Garner Barkers midfield partner varied from Stonehouse, Lowey, Randell. Garners strike partner varied from Bell, Thompson, Quinn When you add Don Macs players in such as Sellars, Ossie, Archibald, Gayle etc that's basically your best of the 80s.

Waggy76 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Thought Saxton signed Sellars but then again my memory ..... Howard Kendall superb footballer , wish he was playing for us today !
AJW Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Sellars without doubt was magical to watch ......... but you just cannot ignore the legend Simon Garner
Waggy76 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Sellars without doubt was magical to watch ......... but you just cannot ignore the legend Simon Garner Quite correct , Garner made Rhodes look like a selling plater !
Riverside67 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Remember seeing Randall and Hamilton run the show at Burnley around this time. Next Sunday looks like it will belong to Marney and Jones. Miles better than our current pairing in that position.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Thought Saxton signed Sellars but then again my memory ..... Sellars was signed by Saxton but he played him centrally. Saxton got sacked at Christmas, Sellars played on the wing.
