"I've got a bit of experience now in the Championship and I know what it takes to play well in these games so I'm looking to play well on Sunday and hit the ground running and keep that form up."

Anyone else read that as "Boywer has told me I'm starting on Sunday?"

Burnley to win 0-2, gain promotion. As we suffer the full rath of fair play and sink into administration. Then the lower leagues for a decade.. Rtid

Stockport County to be our derby game?

Pretty safe bet that mate. It probably confirms that either Hanley or Kilgallon won't be fit. If both are missing what a situation to be thrown in to for the lad. Debut game, live on tv in a fierce local derby and a stand in partner.

That aside good luck to the lad.

imo:

1) Play a midfield 3 of Cairney, Lowe, Evans. This should have enough ball retention in it - especially with Cairney there - to help us defensively, as well as cause some problems. Lowe can do what he does best and has no pressure to do any of the extra stuff, which would make him quite an asset, and Evans is pretty good both getting forward and going back. Even if not fully match fit and he could only do 60 minutes or so of this hopefully by then we have a stranglehold on the game.

2) If Evans can't start, I'd be tempted to do the same, but with Taylor in the center, alongside Cairney and Lowe. He's lots of energy, gets stuck in, and again bombs forward so would support the lone target man. If this is done then there are more question marks about who goes on the wing, but if the central midfield battle is more important, it may be better having Taylor's energy in there and a weaker player out wide. In both Gestede would be my 1 up front, to fight for it, and hold the ball up to bring others in to play.

3) Possibly have Dunn (if fit) in a 4-4-1-1 and see if his being in the hole between the defense and midfield causes them problems. If he drops back into midfield again, it may outnumber Jones and Marney, or perhaps it'll force one of them to drop back to mark him. A bit riskier imo.

Ordinarily with everyone fit and in form I'd put out a team of:

Robbo, Henley, Hanley, Kilgallon, Spurr, Evans, Cairney, Marshall, King, Dunn, Rhodes in a 4-5-1 formation which I feel could crush Burnley - player for player it is so much stronger. However, injuries, lack of form and fitness make this not a possibility whatsoever.

I bet we line up something like:

Robbo, Henley, Spurr, Kilgallon, Olsson, Williamson, Lowe, Cairney, Conway, Gestede, Rhodes, in a 4-4-2 which has some horribly big weaknesses in it.

This is Gary Bowyer's biggest managerial test, any injuries and refereeing decisions simply don't come into it .

Bowyer has brought in a team and offloaded a team so hes had more than enough time by now to be in full swing on showing the Blackburn public his TRUE capabilities come sunday afternoon.

If Ollson, Lowe and Williamson are all in the starting 11, we're looking at a defeat.

HOPEFULLY Cairney/Evans/Dunn are fit, but it would be a bit risky to throw all of them back into the starting 11.

I'd play:

Robbo

Kane-Keane-Hanley-Spurr

Cairney-Lowe-Evans

------------Taylor-----

-----Rhodes-Gestede-----

Could get horribly exposed down the flanks there though.

I've a sneaking feeling both Kilgallon and Hanley will be fit, play Lowe and Spurr as full backs. (Henley is like a rabbit in headlights currently and Kane not good enough)

Midfield of Cairney, Evans, Dunn, Taylor, Conway and Rhodes/Gestede up top.

I feel that would give us more options in an attacking sense, allow us to press higher up the pitch and be more competitive in midfield.

Take the game to them and I think we'll win, sit back and they'll roll us over comfortably. As most other lesser teams have done or come close after we've taken the lead so far this season after we've sat back.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. FFS Rovers stand up and be counted!

COYB!!

Keane wouldn't of signed if he hadn't been told he would get game time so you can count either Hanley or Killa out (if its Hanley, the 'out for the season' rumours of last week could have some substance to them?).

There's been no news of Cairney since last week - does anyone know if he's fit? (the same goes for Dunn)

Taylor did not give any cover to the right back last week and I would pick Kane over Henley every game.

You're leaving out Lowe and Williamson... most people would. Bowyer doesn't.

Let's hope that blind faith wins over realism.

There is a Jordan Rhodes interview just been put on Rovers player which shows Hanley in a training session with the rest of the group. Could have been an old-clip, but I took it to be current - which would suggest he is either fit or not far off it.

Hardly conclusive proof I appreciate!

Two things are crucial: Midfield and who scores first.

I hope: Robinson, Kane, Keane, Hanley, Spurr, Williamson, Evans, Dunn, Cairney, Conway, Rhodes

I guess/fear: Robinson, Henley, Keane, Kilgallon (injured after 10 minutes and to be replaced by...?), Spurr, Lowe, Williamson, Conway, Gestede, Taylor, Rhodes.

Nothing but all of the best from overseas. Hopefully we crush their expectations by winning. Keep the faith!

my team is this

Robinson

Kane, Hanley, Keane, Spurr

Conway, Lowe Evans, Cariney

Rhodes, Gestede

We need Gestedes height and need crosse up in the air for him as dingles cb's arent all that great in the air

I think this will be the team we will start with minus Gestede for Dunn.

Someone on the LT comments seemed pretty certain that Kilgallon is out for at least 5 weeks, no idea where they got that from.
