Clitherover Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Welcome Vox. There's plenty of pubs near the ground, I usually go to any of the one's on Livesey Branch Road as we park up that way but you can't go wrong with any of them to be honest.
Baz Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Any of the bars around the ground or the Blues Bar in the Blackburn End. As they are bussing t'dingles in, shouldnt be much trouble.
old darwen blue Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Uncle Jacks, Branch Road, Lower Darwen. Six minutes walk to ground.
tomphil Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 If you get there early enough then the Brown Cow just up the hill from the ground is a decent one.
Brfcrule1 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Uncle Jacks, Branch Road, Lower Darwen. Six minutes walk to ground. odb have they opened up Uncle Jack's again? the last I saw it was closed down.
old darwen blue Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Wasn't aware it had ever closed in the last few years pal, I'll check tomorrow
pk1875 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Brown Cow Fox and HoundsUncle Jacksall pubs within 5 minute walk of Ewood Park and will have plenty of Rovers fans in
SAS Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Expect these pubs to be heavily policed with your every move filmed.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Not sure what time it opens on sunday (Rovers website as useless as usual on that score) but if you get there early enough to get to the bar, I'd recommend the Blues Bar. Place is fantastic, a mecca to Rovers, and I doubt it'll have as big a police presence as the surrounding pubs. If you wanted a pub though any within a mile or 2 of the ground are fine. Some are usually rammed but good atmosphere, some are a bit quiet but can get to the bar easy. I like a mix personally pre-match.
Andy Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 The pubs will be heavily policed, but if you're doing nothing wrong, why should you care?
john.leigh Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 My pre-match recommendation would be the Fox & Hounds - only problem might be getting in as it is usually packed even for an ordinary game! After the game I'd go to the Blues Bar. Enjoy your day - wish I was there!!
CAPT KAYOS Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I'd recommend the Blues Bar. Place is fantastic, a mecca to Rovers, and I doubt it'll have as big a police presence as the surrounding pubs. Been a while since I have been in but for the sake of Voxman - can you get in Blues Bar pre match without S/T?
IbizaRover Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Blackbull is open from 10am and serving breakfast food aswell. About a 10 min walk to the ground if you know how to cut through the Fernhurst estate
Willie Eckerslike Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Been a while since I have been in but for the sake of Voxman - can you get in Blues Bar pre match without S/T? Last time I went in Blues it was £1 if you had a season ticket and a couple of quid more if you didn't - might have changed this season?
Backroom Mike E Posted March 7, 2014 Backroom Posted March 7, 2014 The pubs will be heavily policed, but if you're doing nothing wrong, why should you care? Because they'll still get you. We're 2nd class citizens to them. Esp with a game like this.
duffbear Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I know the Fearnhurst is normally the official away pub but as Burnley fans have to attend on the official coaches straight to the ground does anyone normally go in there before the game for this match?
McClarky Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Is the Fernhurst not a hotel nowadays which you can only get a bevvy in if you're a resident. It changed a couple of years ago didn't it?
mattjansen Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Last time I went in Blues it was £1 if you had a season ticket and a couple of quid more if you didn't - might have changed this season? Paid a quid during christmas without season ticket, they heard me talking Swedish and let us in
AJW Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 will the pubs be open ? i thought last year they were all closed or is my memory playing tricks?
JohnD Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Uncle Jacks closed and the Fernhurst the away fans pub, how long is it since you lot went to a game!
kokkini Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Uncle Jacks was open last year on derby day? Sure it's not open this year?
