Riverside67 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Sounds a great idea planned for today. 100 years memorial and all that went with it . We are off to the Somme this October to see where my Grandad fought. Despite the rivalry between us there are more important things to consider. The threat of tyranny is never far away and thrives in certain parts of the world today. Thank God we stood against that so we can have days like today to look forward to.

meerkat Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 http://lancastria.net/blog/in-flanders-fields-ww1.html In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
