We have definitely got some fire in our bellies at the moment. Maybe it's down to Bowyer, although his reverting to Willowe suggests he has learned nothing, or maybe they've been told that without PL football many of them will be sold to reduce the wage bill.

Maybe they've just gelled at the right time. Playing 5 games without Lowe may have improved confidence enough to accommodate him when he is playing. I've said before, although I call him the water carrier in jest, he could be the glue that holds a good side together, or the blu-tac of a bad one. *nods to theno*

It's a strange situation that we have generated the momentum after not having him in the side for half a dozen games meaning that we can nowvcope with him being the 'spare man'. How long can Williamson, Cairney and Conway keep up that workrate for though?

Good lord, you do talk some rubbish. Stop trying to justify your pathalogical dislike of 'Willowe'.

When you are losing £30million+ per season, promotion is the only success criteria.

V's wont be sat in Pune thinking 'good old Gazza has made some decent progress, let's throw another £20odd million into the pot'.

Mercerman, good to have you back on posting. but disagree with your point.

very good progress being made by Bowyer and the team now. good form with 5 games to go. still think it will come down to Wigan home game on the last day of the season.

I really hope Venkys understand that Bowyer is building a very good team and making excellent progress. I think Venkys will get this and give him at least another season to get us up if we don't go up.

great to hear the Rovers fans tonight signing Gary Bowyer's name tonight.

Chaddy, in business, if you are set a target you are judged by whether you achieve it or not.

Excuses don't wash and near misses count for nothing !

We are stronger now than at the start of the season. We have made great strides since last season. Pearson, at Leicester, said that their promotion was three years in the making. Good job you weren't his chairman Mercerman, you would have sacked him after year one! Teams take time to develop as you well know.

Unless the likes of Sam Allardyce or Tony Pulis became available and Venkys were willing to spend money on an experienced man (and they were willing to work for our outfit) I honestly don't see any point in changing manager.

Bowyer's been in the job for only a very short period and Rovers are slowly improving. Why upset the apple cart again ?

nobody knows what Bowyer said to Venkys or what targets Venkys set Bowyer at the start of the season. people can only guess what was said and set.

plus nobody knows what Venkys think of the job Bowyer is doing.

guessing at best.

Think this is a very average league.

Any half decent side with a half decent manager can get auto promotion.

Neither Leicester nor Burnley are anything special.

Well drilled, well organised with managers who have a bit of 'presence'.

spot on ParsonBlue. couldn't agree more.

Mercerman, you need to understand the great progress has been made now By Bowyer.

good squad and if we don't go up. very confident that we will be in the top 6 next season if Bowyer is in charge

So you're saying that every manager in this league (below the top 6 and that wasn't promoted from L1 last season) should be sacked? That's 15 sackings.

Oh, we were losing £2m/month at our worst, weren't we? That's £24m, not £30m. Perhaps next season.

Finally, if you predicted a playoff spot (let alone promotion) back in august, you are simply a deluded individual :)

How's your wife's car btw?

Chaddy, think the conversation went something like this:

Mrs Desai "do you think you can get us promoted next season (2013/14) Gary"

Bowyer "I am sure I can Madam, which cheek would you like me to kiss"

Mike - missus is 'over the moon' thanks,

Don't get upset cupcake, I know you've had a bad night. Afterall, your pre-match whining just because the super-talented 'Willowe' were playing look a bit silly now. It's no surprise you're trying to justify it. Endlessly.

It's ok to be wrong though.

Depends on the management style.

Presuming they know what day of the week it is and targets were even set, failure to reach one of them means management should ..er..."drill down"..to try and interpret the context of the miss.

Analysis of the context will throw up massive upheaval, the need to manage and ship out previous managers' mistakes, injuries to key players, Keystone Cop calamitous goalkeeping errors, terrible refereeing decisions and, yes, some questionable tactics......but it would be premature to conduct the final analysis yet.

Tonight Rovers made me feel good!

what would you know (mercerman) about being in business? you've just taken 6 months off posting because you talk so much rubbish, don't try and pretend you can be an expert at "business" when you can't even handle your account on brfcs.com

Good to see the glory hunting "sing when were winning" fans are out after 2 wins .

what a load of rubbish again.

Glory hunting fans haha

You will find that the same fans who said back Bowyer when this topic was started like myself, rovers11, Parsonblue, Kamy and many other fans still have the same view they did back then.

Abbey, did you not enjoy the last 2 wins then?

All this pro Bowyer stuff reminds me of the earlier days in Kean's reign.

From the 'Rovers Fans' we had let's judge him at the end of the season (2010/11), let's give him another window (summer 2011), let's see where we are at Christmas (2011) etc.

Facts are that Bowyer will not suddenly wake-up as Mr Inspirational Charismatic Tactically Aware Bowyer.

I have said all along that I didn't think he could cut the mustard. I hope he proves me wrong but doubt he will.
