I think this season is all but finished, but I agree with Chaddy that if we stick with bowyer and he is allowed to keep this squad together then we have a good chance of going up next season.

I think this messageboard as a place to discuss differing opinions also appears to be all but finished. If people like Chaddy try and focus on positives then Abbey and co jump in - spouting misery and hate.

We are heading for a messageboard where the only message is 'venkyscum' - how diverse

don't forget to ironically use the word 'stability' when we don't win. That never gets boring. Then again if 'stability' means not freefalling through the divisions like before Bowyer was appointed then we really shouldn't complain.

People on here seem to have developed a sense of entitlement where Rovers are concerned, and if we don't win the petulance comes spewing out. It probably doesn't help that Burnley are doing well. The fact that the club has gone through huge upheaval both on and off the pitch seems lost on most. The whinging and constant criticism of Bowyer is embarrassing considering what he's taken on in his first managerial job. We've had a turnover of 30+ players in the last 12 months. Bowyer has had to completely rebuild the squad and yet we're still in with a faint shout of the play offs. Anyone with half a brain would see that as a job well done.

Genuine question, what were the moaners expecting from this season? I predicted we'd finish 9th because it was obviously going to be a season of transition. Most other posters predicted the same or worse. What's changed?

Saying the man city defeat derailed our season is like saying the arsenal victory last year ignited us- plainly not true.

Lack of consistency caused by a number of things; Coaching staff and tactics still only a season old, players in/out, injuries, some naive management, some bad luck and inexperienced players to name but a few.

I think any team of ours, of the past 3 years would have folded to sucker punch in 85+ minutes- unlike the last couple if games. Espesh with 10 men. This doesn't excuse the fact we should have been out if sight but for another poor performance against a lesser side. Inconsistency is our downfall and as I have stated that is for a number if reasons.

More luck with injuries and referees (we have had some shockers this season) will help- as will further bedding in of new and young players and tactics. Leicester and the dingles are prime examples to follow.

I agree that we may need to see one or two more in to replace the likes of Dunn and Robbo, you never know maybe we will pick up another bargain but I'm afraid expectations have to be limited when the club is Haemorrhaging money due to past mismanagement.

Oh and JAL et al- you treat people with disdain who still choose to go because BRFC is part if their lives- see the irony in that because you still waste your time spewing skeptical scrot rash all over these message boards.

''Then again if 'stability' means not freefalling through the divisions like before Bowyer was appointed then we really shouldn't complain. ''

..And the fans threw Roses in the air, nay, rejoiced in the shadow of Ewood. So much damage done that fan expectations are now lower than a Rattlesnakes arse!

can I have a volunteer please? The Club are looking are looking for somebody to ring up Mrs D and Balaji an break it to them that the dream is over for another season. Gb and the Shelfmeister can't quite bring themselves to do it and risk breaking their little hearts after they have never refused anything that's been asked.

If we can just manage to win 12 of our last 8 games we might still do it.

IMO Bowyer couldn't have done much more this season, that was the point. He stopped the rot. Nobody is saying we should be grateful for having seen the club nearly destroyed. I think you knew what i meant.

Ironically i think Bowyers unearthing of a few decent players coupled with the lack of distractions off the pitch have raised expectations. That said isn't there a famous quote about "rather having a lucky manager than a good one" and Bowyer seems to be very unlucky...

Was it the Club or the 'moaners' who used the slogan, 'Join the push for promotion' this season?

Bowyer is average, the team is average, some are satisfied with that others are not.

Dunny publically hammered me on the radio when I scoffed at when he said we would get promoted .

good chance of going up next season buck? based on what exactly?

just my opinion based on the matches I have watched.

Conway, Gestede, Evans, Cairney, Killgallon and Marshall showing promise as additions to the squad.

I am not saying it is certain, and the players and bowyer need to improve Tactically and as a unit. Plus we may have to sell due to finances so who knows.

But I have hope. Definitely renewing the season ticket to try and support.

I wonder how long it will be before Olly gets the bullet at the den?

On a lighter note what was that garbage dress sense Olly was wearing today?

I have seen better dressed tramps on the streets of London than the bald headed Olly! :)

That cap looked like something out of Frank Spencer's collection!

That bomber jacket makes him look like a male Chav! :P

judge for yourself

That was the club's marketing dept. A stupid slogan, but just as stupid to give it any credence.

Bowyer might turn out to be avarage, he might not. Far too early to judge considering the huge turnover of the squad. Only stupid people can't see that.

Hard to see the penalties. Both at other end of the den. Draw was about a fair result. Real lack of quality on display, the 352 wasnt convincing - we conceded far too much space down the flanks, and williamson and evans sat very deep. The ball spent most of the time in the air, and most chances were the result of a huge amount of errors from both teams.

Only real positive for me were Varney who looked useful and full of running, Taylor was busy, and Keane looks like decent option at rb.

Evans and Williamson seem a poor partnership. Both made a couple of good tackles and passes, but generally lacked any ideas going forward and made a frightening number of errors. Also they lack pace and physicality to dominate the game. I was interested to see Evans after some good reviews, but underwhelmed so far.

I wrote earlier today that I am optimistic about the team due to good young players coming through. The game today really dented that optimism. We looked disjointed and pedestrian.
