Robbo deserves a special mention as well for today. Made a decent save from a point blank shot in the first half and his handling was good throughout.

He got hammered on here after Tuesday night with calls to bring in any old Tom Dick or Harry to replace him. Now, he may well be on big money but is still a good keeper at this level and is also pretty much the only vocal 'leader' on the pitch.

Does have some strengths including vocal leadership.

Just struggles with low shots and has done for a while.

Agree it needs to be the right replacement, but his wage seems very high considering his faults. Doubt Leicester's schmeichel is on as much and he is brilliant.

Bowyer does have an eye for a player. Granted, he's overseen a high turnover of players this season, but Cairney, Spurr, Kilgallon, Marshall, Evans Conway & Gestede are all competitive for this level and could be shaped into a promotion outfit. The ones that didn't work out were all low-risk, Poundland signings. I do still have reservations over the way he let Rochina & Judge, two of the few creative players who can play in that 'Dunn role', leave when we look at our strongest playing a 4-4-1-1 formation. From what I've managed to ascertain, Rhodes & Rudy have yet to really click as a strike duo despite seeming the perfect complement in theory. If Dunn is kept on, I'd like to see him adapted into a deep-lying role, giving us some composure and distribution in the middle, since Bowyer doesn't trust Cairney in that position, and then have someone like Marshall or I daresay Rochina in that free-role behind the front-man.

We have tried Dunn there before, it does not work. His strength is not his distribution. It is the way he can run at and commit players and open up space for others.

I don't think Rochina is someone who can link up well with others around him. I'd say Marshall, Judge and Cairney would all be better there, although I would like a new option there as these players could also play elsewhere. Marshall, Conway and King could however be a decent mix of creativity and pace behind Rhodes.

Rochina never struck up an understanding really with Rhodes in my opinion.

He was never really given the chance.

I know people pooh pooh the Derby game but I was running round the bar in Greece screaming we are going up that night. how wrong was I?

For me it all depends on who we keep? I'd keep robbo, Dunn can surely be aided somehow (he played 3 back to back recently, so that's hopeful) but it will come down to finances in the end. I'm waiting till the 30th of june passes and we see who stays and who gets released.

I do want to see a change in the staff, football wise and fitness wise, what's Mike Phelan doing these days??? He'd be a great No. 2

is Robbo out of contract this season???

I would defo like to see another fitness coach with to work along side Chris Neville and Dave Ferve with different expertise to those two in terms of injuries as Majiball has said he could help with.

I would defo keep Craig Short, Tony Grant, John Keeley and Terry McPhilips on the coaching staff. Bowyer and TM have worked together for long term so don't a change there in his GB number 2.

doesn't Phelan want to be manager tho? oh btw, no thanks to him replacing Bowyer. keep Bowyer

Dunny as Stevie G......yes, yes, yes!

First half was very dull today, but I thought that we were excellent second half as we upped the tempo and ended up worthy winners. Defensively I thought we were good today Kilgallon in particular. Evans and Williamson worked well again together in the midfield, the difference in Williamson over the last few weeks when he has been playing with Evans as opposed to Lowe is quite incredible and really highlights how poor Lowe is and how he has held us back this season. Also what a signing Conway has been, his crossing be it from a set piece or from open play is fantastic. I thought that Ipswich were very poor the only player that looked a threat for them was the lad Williams from Palace.

Robbo has one year left I believe?

Neville is a good coach, but being a good coach is not the same as being a good scientist. I have achieved a world first in this area, I cannot say what it is as I know people will know who I am and because of what I post etc people will know who I am. they will be able to figure it out from that. All GB would have to do is meet me, John Williams offered me a job after 3 hours, Mark Howard offered me a job after a day, Sam as well. Espanyol after 2 hours in a pub, it goes on. The sole reason I left a very strong career to pursue a career in sports science was to work at one place, in one capacity and now it will never happen as I can't even get GB to say hi when I drive up to Brockhall. Start a facebook campaign Chaddy, I will change things for the better at Rovers and the little 1%'s I can get here and there will hopefully aid us in our goals.

Phelan can want what he wants but no-one has offered him kean, we need a tactical brain at Ewood and he must be missing football by now.

why wont Bowyer said Hi to you???

have you work for Rovers before???

what other football clubs have you work for?

That's a question for GB, not me. Many have tried to get me in front of him and yet????? why?

I have never worked for Rovers Chaddy.

Questions like that are not really for public, maybe if we had a decent relationship I would answer by PM? Work on that and I will answer

Blah blah blah Maj. Nobody wants you swanning in and ruining the stability.

give me the chance to make my words actions. LJMU is No.1 in the world for sports science research in football, they have no issue with me? Except my resignation.

In Lowe's defence he also looked a far better player when playing in the middle with Evans (Bournemouth away and picked up a few m.o.m.s around that time). As you rightly state though Williamson has looked better recently, think its just a case of Lowe and Williamson can't play together.

Smashing that Maj. 1% gain quite possibly negated by 1% lack of tact. As Ian Dury once said, there ain't half been some clever bastrds.

Anyway, 2 0 to the Blues. Deserved it. That Rhodes does well doesn't he? Ipswich hopes dented big time.

Really? If memory serves there was plenty of doubters early on and as usual before they had even kicked a ball for us.

Why? We didnt so what is the point.

My point would have been better out across if I'd have said "no one would deny that he's done well in the market".

"We were certainly as good as them, or as bad as them as the case may be as it wasn't a great game" - Super Mick.

I would have to agree.

He was never really given the chance.

I know people pooh pooh the Derby game but I was running round the bar in Greece screaming we are going up that night. how wrong was I?

The one that he kept losing the ball, never passing, running down blind alleys, and never choosing the correct option, often wasting good opportunities? When he was replaced by a less flash but much more effective player on the day in Best?

Dunny as Stevie G......yes, yes, yes!

He's played deep before, it doesn't work. His passing isn't his strength, especially from deep. He can slip in a through ball when we are on the attack but he is better in attacking areas.

The lie was 13,200 (with 600 Ipswich fans- which was a decent turn out from them); in truth we struggle to get 10k on these days with the mid week game having more like 7k.

Well we enjoyed yesterday. Grim first half but much improved in the second.

I doubt more than 8000 in the ground which is a massive problem for the club.
