windymiller7 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Great performance last night. Survived the early couple of scares from Keano's brother and then seemed to marshall him quite well, although he should've scored in the second half. We seemed to defend a higher line last night (about bloody time!) which I think ultimately helped out Willowe. I've been critics of both in the past, but credit where it's due, both had good games last night. I don't know if I just didn't spot it earlier in the season, but is TC getting stuck in more since he came back in? He seemed to win quite a few aerial battles both last night, and on Sat and seems to be getting a lot more decent tackles in. I always thought of him as more of a ball playing, wimpy type of player before then - not that I didn't want him in the side every week! Great goal from Gestede, great assist from Rob Green, Spurr really did buy the ticket & win the lottery with that one. Conway & Gestede are fast becoming my favourite two players at the moment, both seem to get better every game. Richard Dunne didn't know what the @#/? to do with Rudy last night and he's been bullying centre forwards off the ball for years! Hope we can get a deal done for Keane but I'm not holding my breath. As I've said before, I think Utd will need him next year. I'm not daring to dream just yet, but I'm a lot more optimistic about next year. COYB
Backroom Tom Posted April 9, 2014 Backroom Posted April 9, 2014 Terrible, that. Don't make yourself a target!
JAL Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 good point ParsonBlue again by you. Lowe had a good game. but clearly he has a small hate mob who will hate him until he leaves the club cannot give him credit. clearly Stuart you cant praise Lowe when he had a good game but you can moan about when he had a poor game last night performance was excellent but still fee people will only focus on the negative points. If Lowe Williamson and Varney had anything like a decent game then QPR must have dropped their standards alarmingly and given up for the season. Its crystal clear that next season these three must be improved on along with Eastwood for Rovers to have any chance of success next season otherwise its the same @#/? different day scenario.

Williamson was very good..improving game by game. Lowe is good player. Varney ok player. Rovers outclassed QPR and clearly the better side. was u not at the game???
Kie_BRFC Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Why not address the post ? With regards to Lowe you're starting to tee people off and making yourself look silly. But people's constant slating of Rhodes is acceptable? Rhodes does his job consistently, Lowe doesn't
den Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 But people's constant slating of Rhodes is acceptable? Rhodes does his job consistently, Lowe doesn't They are views about his strengths and weaknesses. Why wouldn't that be acceptable?
ABBEY Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 They are views about his strengths and weaknesses. Why wouldn't that be acceptable? It's in my sig.
darrenrover Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Excellent performance last night, I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I confess to putting head in hands when Willowe were announced as our central midfield pairing. I put the enhanced performance down to playing a much higher line and being more combatative further up the field. Keane also had an excellent game at right back. Begs the question, why has it taken so long?

Jimmy612 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 But people's constant slating of Rhodes is acceptable? Rhodes does his job consistently, Lowe doesn't You'll note that the Rhodes thread has been quiet for quite some time now, and that very few people have mentioned him in this thread. That's probably because not only has he been scoring, but he has also worked harder for the team. The difference is that anyone who criticises Rhodes from time to time (completely justifiably because he deserves it sometimes), also praise him when he plays well or scores... those that HATE Lowe can't give him credit whether he plays well or not. There's a long list of players who have suffered the same treatment Kieran, had you not noticed? MGP and Lucas Neill in more recent history - before then Sherwood, Wilcox, Atkins. A certain section of Rovers fans always need a hate figure. N'Zonzi narrowly escaped the same unjust abuse, despite being a good player and now plying his trade comfortably in the PL. You aren't the lad that wrote the article on Rhodes 'going right to the very top of World football' are you?
chaddyrovers Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Are you suggesting GB has been negative for a known unknown reason what are you hinting at then? if it what i think it then the claim is totally pathetic, unjustify and stupid. Imo Bowyer is learning on the job and developing as a manager and getting better..got to give GB and his staff credit for last night performance and the high standard of it

darrenrover Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Are you suggesting GB has been negative for a known unknown reason I'm suggesting nothing other than why now? If they can perform like that last night, it just adds to the frustration of what might (and probably should) have been this season. There is no logic.
thenodrog Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 How strange that Lowe doesn't feature in a single action shot. You are in danger of becoming foolish with your irrational hatred of Lowe. Good luck to Burnley btw Well done to Burnley by all means but never ever could i wish them luck!

No logic, or has it took this long for a bit of gelling to take place
Stuart Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 You are in danger of becoming foolish with your irrational hatred of Lowe. You need to stop quoting posts from hours/days previously where the conversation has moved on - as you do frequently. Read a thread, take a deep breathe and try again. You are in danger of forever living in the past.
bigbrandjohn Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 After last night the only question as we enter the final few furlongs is whether we are on the inside track because we are well positioned and appear to have the stamina to cross the line placed
yoda Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 After last night the only question as we enter the final few furlongs is whether we are on the inside track because we are well positioned and appear to have the stamina to cross the line placed The bookies are going to love that outcome!

darrenrover Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Hopefully we have some! As you said previously, logic doesn't apply but perhaps consciences may!
thenodrog Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 But people's constant slating of Rhodes is acceptable? Rhodes does his job consistently, Lowe doesn't Rubbish. Rhodes gets praise from me when he does well and criticism when he plays poorly. Against Ipswich for instance he was largely anonymous for the 90 mins but then he popped up with a blinder completely out of the blue. As for 'consistency' can you explain how you come by that view when he didn't score for over two months after the new year? Tbh this might sound daft to an outsider but no one can argue with the fact that he scores many but rarely plays well. I've said for some time now that our best target man is Rudy Gestede and I see no reason to change my opinion.
