cn174 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Although after Saturday's disappointment it feels like the season is over, there are four more games left of this season. We next play Yeovil on Good Friday. I don't know too much about Yeovil, other than it is very far away, they play in green and white and that they could really do with beating us if they are to remain in the Championship. A Jordan Rhodes goal saw us win at Huish Park the weekend before Christmas, so hopefully another goal from him (or two) will see Rovers to victory on Friday.

sharpysharps Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Looking forward to this one, although Rovers seem to have struggled at home against the relegation fodder of the division this season. Yeovil certainly adrift of the rest of the teams fighting down there we could well consign them to relegation more or less with a win if Charlton also win. Going for Rovers 3 - 0 (Rhodes, Rudy & Conway)
jonv Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 an early goal could dampen any spirit Yeovil have coming into this one. it's vital we start on the front foot and not sit back diddle dabbling around
USABlue Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Or an early goal could make our lot start thinking it will be a cake walk. Big banana skin this one.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 We'll win, won't make a jot of difference as we've blown the PO's. Hope we play like we did against QPR, the Lowe debate will rumble on as he's bound to play. Just want a good performance, and no late goal by them to draw. We should be putting this team to the sword if we have ambitions for next year!
roversfan99 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 There is no need for Bowyer to play 2 from Williamson, Lowe and Evans on Friday. If he does he will show himself to be too negative. A midfield of King, Evans/Williamson, Cairney, Conway for me.
Colt Seavers Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 I went to the away fixture at christmas. I believe we are better now than we were then and i think we will be comfortable 2 or 3 nil victors.
Bucksrover Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Could do with a good win to reward the fans and get people believing we could do something next season
roverandout Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 anything less than a win and its definitely bowyer out for me, If they cant beat this lot then bowyer wants flogging

Famous for their cup exploits
tomphil Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I feel we might grab a draw in this one, it's one of our 'strengths'. Expect our famous midfield double act to be at their stand off best on the long good Friday 0 - 0 13,320 (400 clotted cream eaters)
G Somerset Rover Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Been to a lot of away games this season but this will be my first trip to Ewood for a while. Looking forward to it. Being from the South West myself originally, this is a game that I really do no want us to lose as a lot of my mates are Yeovil fans. It's do or die for them really, so it should make for quite an open game - providing they don't score early doors. Hoping for a 3-1 win, but they've been to some tough places and come away with some surprising results, so it will be a tough match. Wonder if those clowns are planning on showing up?
No Nay Never Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 anything less than a win and its definitely bowyer out for me, If they cant beat this lot then bowyer wants flogging Lets cut to the chase - Its Bowyer out for you no matter what isn't it, If we beat Yeovil then it will be If we don't beat Birmingham its bowyer out for me and repeat repeat repeat.
the original david brent Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I'm making a bold prediction but i think we will be 1 point off the play offs come 5pm tomorrow. Wigan are at home to Reading - i predict a home win. Huddersfield are at home to Brighton - i am going to predict Brighton to come unstuck. I think Bournemouth and Sheff Weds will draw. Ipswich play on Saturday. And lastly i think we will win! Its the (false) hope that keeps me interested!
1864roverite Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I don't see anything but a wide open game. Yeovil have to come out to win, a draw is no good to them likewise it is no good for us. We will probably see a good few goals, we score we concede, Yeovil score and also concede. 4-2 Rovers
stanhillrover Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I don't really understand this argument that the play-offs are beyond us. It is unlikely that we will make it, but it is possible, and as long as it remains a possibility we have to approach the games with confidence that we can do it. Bearing in mind that Reading travel to Wigan and Ipswich travel to Watford (both very difficult games) then we should be looking at making up points on one or both of those teams. Even Brighton have an awkward away trip to Huddersfield who need a win. We then head to Birmingham on Monday to play a side that hasn't won at home for an eternity. Whilst last week was hard to take and we are outsiders in the race, it isn't helping anyone if we approach these final four games as an end of season nothing to play for situation. We evidently do have something to play for. Our next three games are against teams in the bottom seven. We should be capable of beating Yeovil with some comfort. I hope we don't turn up with a hangover after last weeks late goal. Yeovil have been within seconds of winning at Wigan and Leicester in recent weeks, and know they really need a win tomorrow to give themselves any chance of survival. Do we start all guns blazing with a point to prove or do we go into it in a fragile state.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 The managers and players won't see the season as being over so it's not too bad. It's extremely unlikely but much stranger things have happened.
USABlue Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 We then head to Birmingham on Monday to play a side that hasn't won at home for an eternity. If there is one thing we have been good at it is curing what is ailing other teams or opposing players.
somersetrover Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I've seen Yeovil a few times this season and they are terribly slow at the back, I would certainly play King as he would terrify them with his pace. Looking forward to this game though as my Yeovil supporting brother in law is driving up and back and it will probably me my last game of the season now that the cricket season is underway.
Andy Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 If you don't beat your Yeovils, you don't deserve to be in the play off positions. Do these and get three points at lowly Birmingham a couple of days later and we will be very, very close to squeezing that last spot.

Pelio Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Coming up from Yeovil for this one, and personally this is a tough one to call. Yeovil will fight for their lives tomorrow and it would be fantastic to see them escape relegation. However, its a game Rovers should prove too strong for. Look out for young Lawrence on Yeovil's left wing, very good prospect on loan from Man Utd and could get some joy against Keane/Kane. He's the spark that will create chances.
riverside returns Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Went to the away game before Christmas and realistically, had the chances in the first half fallen to Rhodes rather than Dunn we would have been out of sight. We are a lot stronger now so expect a few goals today. After all, the 34 goals witnessed in the last 8 games suggests at least a level of entertainment.
ross-shire rover Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Rovers comfortably leading 3-1. Final score 3-3.............
