Stuart Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Agreed windy. All depends how much Brum want to stay in this division.

J*B Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Birmingham and Wigan will be a score draw. They'll play out the last 15 minutes as keep ball. Both teams will accept a draw.
Backroom Tom Posted April 28, 2014 Backroom Posted April 28, 2014 And we'll have no room to moan after us and united almost sat down and had a picnic for ten minutes a few years back
Kie_BRFC Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 It would be typical if Birmingham won 2-0 against Wigan tomorrow, then we beat Wigan 2-0 only for brighton to win at forest and us to miss out
1864roverite Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Lee Clarke has just said big club will get a result tomorrow!
Backroom Tom Posted April 28, 2014 Backroom Posted April 28, 2014 We'll beat Wigan but unfortunately we are still relying on circumstances outside our control I also think Brum will beat Wigan if so it will make for an insanely tense atmosphere on that last day
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 If it was any other club - I would say we were destined to be that one club that pinched that last top 6 spot on the final day, after not being in the top 6 all season, and then with momentum behind them got promoted. But this is Rovers - so Wigan will probably beat Birmingham.
darrenrover Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Sadly the scenario that best typifies Rovers' season is Brum beating Wigan. Rovers leading 3-0 at Ewood, sit back with 15 mins to play and concede a couple of late goals, to discover Forest beat Brighton with an injury time winner. Hopefully the times they are a changing, come on Birmingham!
lraC Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Sadly, I think it will be all over after tonight, as I can't see Wigan not getting at least a point at St Andrews. Birmingham are in turmoil and a Wigan victory will put them very close to the drop into league 1. We can dream I guess, but that's all it is I am afraid!
lraC Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Birmingham and Wigan will be a score draw. They'll play out the last 15 minutes as keep ball. Both teams will accept a draw. I can't see Wigan being happy with a draw. Although a draw puts us out of it, they can still be overtaken by both Reading and Brighton, unless they win at Ewood. I am pretty sure Wigan will be going all out for the win tonight, as that will definitely confirm their play off place. I am sure Birmingham would be happy with a point, as that will mean Doncaster will have to take at least a point away at Leicester on Saturday.
Backroom Tom Posted April 29, 2014 Backroom Posted April 29, 2014 So just to recap, a point for Wigan tonight makes it mathematically impossible? Edit - ah I now see we could still overtake reading and Brighton to get the last spot but it would need a 7 goal swing over Reading
CapeTownRover Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Birmingham to beat Wigan, Brighton and Reading both lose, and Rovers to lead 3-0 at half time, only to let Wigan in at the end and draw 3-3. That would be typical us, wouldnt it? Lol
McClarky Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I don't see Brum or Wigan playing for a draw tonight. Both would be boosted hugely with a win and hardly at all by a draw. Brum have gone so long without a home win they'll probably turn Wigan over and it all goes down to Saturday. I can see us beating Wigan and just missing out on goal difference.
mark1875 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 If Birmingham win tonight they are safe from relegation because Charlton and Blackpool play each other at the weekend. Surely they are going to go for this, as someone said before if they can't raise themselves for this, then they deserve to go down
majorstyre Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 so am i right in thinking that if wigan get at least a point tonight, then we are reliant upon the Dingles doing us a favour and thumping Reading??? (as well as the Brighton defeat)
rovers11 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I actually fancy brum to win tonight. They are due one at home. It's not that unrealistic to then think we can put two or three past Wigan and Brighton lose a tough away tie against Forest.
punerover Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 What happens if Brum put 2 past Wigan (2-0) and we put 2 as well. (2-0). Wont we be even on goal difference? Who goes up then?
majorstyre Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 if goal difference is level, we would finish higher on goals scored.... i think the only way that could happen is if wigan loose by three tonight - then we need a 2 goal win... if they loose by 5 then we only need a 1 goal win..!!..!!!!!!
Guest Norbert Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Birmingham will be spanked by Wigan. I can't see them fighting at all.
Neal Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 it's expecting too much to hope Birmingham who have regularly being spanked every week to turn a decent Wigan team over. Can't see it.
Backroom Tom Posted April 29, 2014 Backroom Posted April 29, 2014 I actually think they will beat them They may have been woeful recently but this league is crazy for unpredictability! If there's a couple of goals in it then our lads would be really up for it What would be interesting is if we were a couple of goals up in the second half and a goal at either end would be critical
Mr. E Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Brum will be relatively safe even with a draw sadly...but still, if they don't want to leave it to chance, they have to push for a win today.
Lancs Rover Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 A Wigan win at Birmingham might not be the disaster it first seems. If they confirm their place in the play-offs tonight, Wigan will most likely field a light team on Saturday. Those on the field will probably be instructed to avoid getting injured as well. On the other hand, I can see us really going for it. Don't rule out a spanking for the pie-eaters, even and especially if, they win this evening.
Backroom Tom Posted April 29, 2014 Backroom Posted April 29, 2014 A 7 goal swing over Reading is expecting a lot though Wigan and Brighton are our only realistic hope
