People seem to forget what a mess we were in when Bowyer took over. He's had to rebuild huge sections of the squad with a vast number of new players - many of them young players who he wishes to develop. You can't expect a team like that to gel instantly. Success does not come overnight, especially for a playing squad that was an absolute shambles of overpaid, under-performing wastrels.

We're clearly on an upward trajectory and sacking Bowyer now would be madness.

Good result today. Three on the bounce.

Nice to end on a win in a game that summed up the second half of our season in a way

Some great attacking football then the opposition changes it about and dominates for a while and we concede some weak goals.

Conway and Rudy are ridiculous by the way

Keane is a very decent centre half but very poor positionally at right back they spotted that early and tried to exploit it

I would give olsson another season he's a decent enough and cheap enough backup option

I would say from the way Robbo looked at the end he's off in summer

Right back desperately needs strengthening for next season, find someone proper for the job. It's been targeted by teams all season and has put us on the back foot from the off in most games. Rudy and Conway are telepathic, what a great weapon for next season, as long as it doesn't become the only weapon of attack lol

Do the rao's and desai listen to radio rovers ? Gary;s off again with his "value improved" since we brought him in

He has a direct line to Pune, learnt from Kean what Venky's like to hear.

It was always a big task to overcome an 8 goal difference and then hope two team's results go your way.

A shocking defensive display from Rovers. This game could have been 6-6, we could not defend for peanuts and outwitted in midfield except for Cairney who was impressive.

Also good games from Conway and Gestede, Rhodes was disinterested for most of the game.

Not impressed at all.

Excellent season overall. Need to tighten up defensively but we are a potent force going forward. It's gonna be a busy summer trying to shift players out but I suspect only 3 or 4 will come in. I expect a RB, centre half, central midfielder, and a back up striker. Possibly a GK as well if Robbo leaves.

Keane will probably be the CH we bring in on loan and I expected Varney to be the back up striker. Don Cowie will be high up there on the CM list and no idea who we will target for the RB position. Certainly don't need wholesale changes this summer.

Quite right Tom, 3 assists for Conway today and Rudy 6 goals in 3 games.

They must school them well at Cardiff, maybe we need to look at some more promoted clubs players in the summer, Leicester probably

have a few that might be surplus to requirements.

A tad harsh perhaps ? I know what your saying but it was always going to be an open sort of game today and it didn't tell us owt we didn't already know. Quality needed at the back and/or a robust defensive midfielder to protect them.

Bit of an exhibition game really with a 2nd string Wigan side not having anything to play for and us having a very slim chance of something to play for.

Started well, and even had some kind of hope at 3-1 and with other results starting to go our way. But ultimately it proved a false dawn (summing up our season). 2nd half didn't live up to the first and after Wigan pulled their second goal back and the other scores turning against us it all went a bit flat, plus we also started to look knackered - although kept on going and going as much as possible and I guess overall should have had a couple more goals.

Nice to see Jordan making it to 25 goals - always looks good on paper- and that should ensure a decent price should we end up going down that route this summer. Robbo getting beaten yet again by a low shot is a concern.........

Conway deserved MOTM yet again................

Had we really been in with a chance though and needed a goal late on............well, no "Rochina" or similar on the bench.........the laughable Feeney and the prolific Varney??? Well, thank god it didn't come to that in the end...................

We won and it didn't rain, so it's all good. Though no appearance from the Legend that is DABO did put a dampener on things.

This is what I'd be worried about next season, we'll get nowhere with substandard players like these, let's just hope no deals have been done.

What a great game. We could've scored 8! Olsson, where's he been! Very exciting today only disappointing thing was the poor attendance but the stayaways missed a treat.

Gestede is a massive player for us and I hope we can keep hold of him.

We need to play 5 in midfield for so many reasons.

King, Conway, Evans, Cairney are excellent in midfield. Keane had a poor game compared to his usual performances.

Hanley and Kilgallon has strange games, and grant was lucky to escape a red.

Well done rovers and thanks to GB for renewing my passion and belief that's taken a battering for the last few years.

See you all next season, well the ones that attend! RTID

Attendance (officially) was just short of 17k. Not too shabby at all - seems a strange criticism.

I think GB may be playing possum with Dabo, he'll launch him on an unsuspecting public, when we least expect it.

Do you think he might be a Balaji signing ?

I don't think he's a GB signing that's for sure. Perhaps he's a buddy of Akon or something

Truth is we played Wigan reserves today and scraped a win .

That is a little harsh - they rested a couple of players - and in truth we could have scored far more than we did. We hit the bar - Carson made two excellent saves - had a goal disallowed - and managed to miss numerous presentable opportunities - all with a referee who was absolutely useless and offered little protection to our players.

Somehow we need to keep the majority of that starting eleven together - but players like Cairney and Gestede may attract some unwelcome attention from the teams promoted out of the division.
