Maybe 8.

Think you might be struggling with 8, I make it 2, maximum 3

Firstly, it isn't irrelevant what fans perceptions were before the season. some people expectations change during the season.

Rovers did several chances but so did other clubs, the FACT is that we did miss out by 2 points that is reality. the rest is if's, buts and maybe's

I really don't understand why some fans want Bowyer out for. you have to look he has done in rebuilding a playing squad with the right attitude and getting rid of some of the deadwood within the playing staff from the previous season. putting together a very good scouting network which has allow to players like Cairney, Evans, Gestede, Conway, Spurr.

lets allow him next season to build on the foundations that has been put in place this season and no knee jerk next season after a few games which some fans will of course do.

Actually, to be factually correct, we would have needed 3 more points to get a play off place

not at all interested in what the owners said when they first bought the club.

we are where we are atm.

that's is in the championship trying to build a football club back up and they are no quick fixes at all. look at Leicester, Leeds, Forest and Derby how long they have been in this league with Leicester and Leeds being relegation to League 1 during that time aswell.

oh ..SELECTIVE AMNESIA THEN ..

PUNE SIN DRONE STRIKES AGAIN

for me GB should be manager next season, yes I would like him to attack more with the team that we have, to put pressure on the ball when we do not have it and back four needs work to be done to it However alll in all for a first time manger he has done well sold and brought

well for the most

23 points off promotion

So what? After a horrible season under different managers and chaos that is decent no matter what you say. With a rookie manager as well)

Leicester and Bumley who got promoted are well runned clubs, see the difference?

Of course my expectations we're alot higher with the squad and players we got but let's see if Bowyer can make it, if he can't turn the ship around then someone else should try.

It is irrelevant what fans perceptions were before the season. Rovers had several very good chances to get in the playoff race and blew it. Questions have to be asked why these were passed up? They kept making the same mistakes even in the last game of the season. As I have said before, it is now too late to replace him but if we don't start the next season well then the trigger needs pulling quickly.

Liverpool have just blown the Premier League - and the door has been wide open for them to win it. Why on earth have they passed up the chances they had?

Should they sack Rodgers? Sell Suarez?

Why didn't Barcelona win this weekend - or Real Madrid, or Atletico, or Ajax, or Roma? Benfica did an amazing job on Juventus on Thursday, but they failed to win today as well. It was a shocking weekend for anyone who bets on European football.

Football isn't a science. It's real people with the same weaknesses and strengths as the rest of us, and to assume that Rovers were somehow pre-destined to reach the playoffs is ridiculous. And then to blame the manager is even more ridiculous. He's the only reason we got anywhere close.

Chaddy-----don't confuse getting to the play-offs with promotion will you?

As Abbey has said, we were 23 points away from that

Is anything other than automatic promotion considered a failure then?

Surely getting into the play offs counts for something? Brighton finished two points above us and they could be promoted after all.

Don't put words in my mouth I'm quite capable of writing my own.

There's a few of these types springing up at the moment, Abbey.

Seems like a 12 game run and 8th place finish is enough to bring out a few fickle types from the woodwork.

Can you imagine this MB at the start of the Walker era ? After all we were top of division 2 at Christmas - and then only just made the play offs. I bet there would even be some calling Walker and questioning why he got Dalglish when he could have got another manager.

Personally I think GB has ( on balance) done a fair job given the circumstances - take into account the turmoil in the previous season, cost cutting and injuries. He did somethings wrong - but got more right than wrong.

Keep saying this - but if he solves one thing next season it has to be the fitness issue - which IMO contributed more to our failing to get promoted than tactics.

As I recall it, no-one was calling for Dalglish's head. At least, no-one I knew. Because we knew we had the best manager and because we knew Jack was taking us in the right direction we were a bit non-plussed about how it had gone wrong but happy to wait for inevitable success.

Very happy days they were.

So being positive about the end of the season and looking forward to next season means we are fickle? I'm highly delighted with the way this season has gone. For me, we overachieved as I fully expected - and indeed - would have been happy with mid-table after the last three seasons. A twelve match unbeaten run and finishing just two points out of the play-offs is a sign of progress for me and the friends who I travel to all the games with. If being happy with the outcome of this season and happy with the management team and the players brought in makes me fickle that I'm happy to be so. The unbridled negativity that this messageboard seems to have fallen into and the stick that the likes of chaddy get for having the audacity to be optimistic and enthusiastic about the club is the reason why I very rarely bother coming onto this site anymore. At one time it was the place to be to discuss all things Rovers but now it seems to have developed into a bear pit where the main requirement is to wallow in gloom and doom.

Last Season (2012-13) Facts

Cardiff win the league by 8 clear points.

Burnley appoint Dyche in October and finish 11th. They finish the season winning only one match out of the last nine!

They won 2 out of the last 16.

They won only 2 games after 19th January. SACK! SACK! SACK!

Palace finished 5th and won the “Play-offs”.

Leicester finished 6th. If you have the temptation to feel sorry for yourself at the end of the season – watch this (nearly as bad as the Liverpool result!):

I always back my mates through thick and thin as well...

Why can't people look at the same thing and formulate differing opinions? It's a witch hunt on both sides these days and we're all on the same side and yet it is demanded people conform to others views. You offer debate, to get 'no, because you're wrong' and that's that, even if you do get a response it's generally a side step avoiding the question posed. Just as people want their positivity allowed, negativity must also be considered as one without the other is? Rovers has changed, so in turn will the MB, frustration will set in and tempers will flare or people will walk away, as it's no longer the club they fell in love with. Until everyone is willing to be considerate and accept their contributions to the current state on here, nothing will change. Instead lets just slag each other off for having a differing view over the same situation.

fickle types? wat a load of rubbish.

alot of fans are very happy with this season progress and the good work by Bowyer and his coaching/Scouting team. we have had a good season and alot people are positive about next season. i guess we arent allow to be positive about anything.

i really dont know why some fans are so negative about this season and our promotion chances next season.

totally agree ParsonBlue with that view.

You are correct there Maj.
