darrenrover Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Out of interest, when was the last time Rovers won by 4 goals or more?

ABBEY Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 We could do with a Brighton sending off, and a Reading one and a Wigan one for that matter, preferably all after giving away penalties. We could do with weaker beer
West Yorks Rover Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 We could do with weaker beer Or less of it ! Seriously though 12 games unbeaten tomorrow most important thing, 'don't lose it lads I've got to go to Pune next week !'
dingles staying down 4ever Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 We will probably go for a win today as we are still not guaranteed 10th place yet.
Paul Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 If GB doesn't go all out for a resounding victory we will know where his interests lay. It has to be a resounding win or nothing - unbeaten run, defeat or draw is irrelevant. If he fails to take that approach then for me it's his last roll of the dice.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Last thing Rovers need today is to concede early doors. Expect us to keep it tight first half and then if results are going right then step up the pressure.
Paul Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 They seem to have dipped in form only just managing to beat what is currently one of the worst teams in the league at the moment and we're in great form at the minute (second in form table last time I checked). We should win this and it's a shame we aren't in the playoff places because I'd have given us a chance although I believe Derby are going up. Didn't we fail to beat THE worst team in the Championship? Two points which would greatly have improved our chances of a top six spot.

And if Rhodes had passed to Gestede at Sheffield instead of hitting the side netting that would have been two more points. If Kean hadn't made errors against Forest and Ipswich there would have been a couple of more points there. If Hanley hadn't got sent off at Wigan another three points could have been won. The bottom line is that promotion and relegation are the result of a whole season not just one or two matches. The bottom line is that the players have not been good enough over the WHOLE season not just against Yeovil. Personally, I have thoroughly enjoyed the second half of this season and I'm already looking forward to next season under Bowyer no matter what the result today.

You are quite right players do make errors but not deliberately. According to the Robinson interview Bowyer instructed the players not to lose the point we had. And that for me will be the fundamental difference as we are traipsing away from Ewood this afternoon.

The issue isn't individual mistakes, every team and every player makes those. The issue is the approach of the team - as dictated by the manager - especially when it has mattered, and especially at Ewood.

My point was in relation to the original poster suggesting Wigan are on a slide for struggling to beat Birmingham, one of the worst sides in the league, while saying we are on a good run despite having failed to beat the worst team in division!!
JWUpper Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 @OneRovers: ROVERS: Robinson; Keane, Hanley ©, Kilgallon, Olsson; King, Evans, Cairney, Conway; Gestede, Rhodes.
Stuart Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Very happy with that. Hope Olsson can play as well as against Charlton.

The Rover of Finland Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Just to make sure, it is a goal difference in same points?
martonrover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Lacking in Dabo Bizarre isn't it? Dragged him over from France and he hasn't had a kick!
Proudtobeblue&white Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Happy with that 11, only Spurr could improve it, Dunny perhaps if fit. Here, looking forward to the game . COYB's!
RibbleValleyRover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Kind of surprised that Wigan have rested so many players, surely you want to be going into the playoffs with some momentum? It's a local game so even with the changes I can't see Rovers scoring the amount of goals they would need to and even then they need certain results to go their way. 2-0 Rovers win.
