Bundesburn Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Fatigue playing it's part, but Robbo poor at getting down to that.
booth Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 PS. As for "entertaining" how many goals have we scored in the last eight weeks? Loads It's the ones conceded that have cocked things up. We need to sort out that defence.
G Somerset Rover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 We really must stop players from shooting outside the area. It's bloody ridiculous the time and space that we give people. Criminal. Mentally we really need to win this to break our 3 in a row curse.
Robin Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 What's up with Robinson and low shots?.. Poor defending morelike. They cant let him shot so near and infront of the goal.
TurkishDelightFan Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Rovers should have been in the play offs but threw it away themselves thanks to crappy bowyer tactics. I mean come on, losing a 3-1 lead to Sheff Wed, d0-0 against yeovil, conceeding too many last minute goals. Yeah Robbo isnt great anymore.
RockinRover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Thanks to a combination of tactics and just plain bad careless defending from our players you mean? In any other workplace if someone messes up, it's as much their fault as the Manager's.
dr who true blue Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 No matter what your views on gary bowyer are the fact is he hasn't got the ability to take rovers that next step to be a top 6 club. And the championship will be much tougher next season.

You're basing this off one season. He definitely deserves another go at the very least.
booth Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Thanks to a combination of tactics and just plain bad careless defending from our players you mean? In any other workplace if someone messes up, it's as much their fault as the Manager's. And it's the managers job to make sure it doesn't happen again. The frustration with Bowyer is making the same mistakes over and over. But in fairness we need to sort out that defence. I feel like we will concede every time the opposition gets forward.
joey_big_nose Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Yeovil was abysmal. I can't believe we didnt go after them in that game. Well that's that, good season. Thought Gary needed the boot post Burnley and Bournemouth but he has turned it around very strongly. Excited about next season. Good man.
RockinRover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Here's the thing everyone's ignoring.. When we were keeping clean sheets and barely scoring this board yelled for Bowyer to start playing more attacking. He did.. then we started conceding more. You can't have it both ways, not without us getting better players who can cope better in a 4-4-2 formation.
West Yorks Rover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Well 2 points away from top six, that's 8 points nearer than last season, but we certainly need to strengthen the squad now and aim for the top 2 next time, Is GB the man to do it ? Well I certainly think he'll get the chance, Venky's won't sack him on a 12 game unbeaten run.
perthblue02 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Wasn't Hendry brought in as a defensive coach (obviously by another manager) and yet still at the club , now assistant to the reserves, seems odd perhaps we should get rid and get a better defensive coach , no other reason for him being kept at the club is there ?
booth Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Now we can find out what those crazy Indians have in store for the club.
broadsword Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 He's got his own players in. Only dann might have been wirth keeping out of those who have left. His team his tactics his set-up his substitutions. His failure.
Guest Norbert Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Maybe he's on a big contract, and will be due a big pay off. Listening to the radio, and Big Club's dramatic escape reminds me that we were nearly involved in that sort of thing last season.
booth Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Oh and cue the speculation about any decent players leaving.
martonrover Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Bottom line is we won. Couldn't go myself due to work but pleased those who did got a good send off for the close season.
