Not a cross dressing question but looking to get a new TV in the next month or so (sales starting here soon) .

Currently have a 5 year old 40" Samsung plasma which is starting to come to the end of its life so looking at whats around seems newer ones have bigger screens but are comparable in overall size .

Seems plasmas in general are on there way out and LED/LCD are the norm.

Not too bothered about smart functions as have a android box , want decent picture quality for general watching and sport (mainly footy), not really a gamer , and would barely use 3d options

So anybody purchased a TV in the last couple of years that could recommend for consideration or any brands to possibly avoid?

I bought a 3d smart LG from currys .. Was 1600 3 months ago and we bought it a few weeks ago for 800 . It's quality .

Perth, I wouldn't go passed a Sony.

I've got one that's four years old now, still going well, picture is great for my eyes.

Yes ... Footy , darts and boxing for sport .

Documentaries are fantastic. . I download films etc . Always thought it was a gimmick but I genuinely love it.
