Josh Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I hope the two blokes who had a fall behind the left corner flag are ok. One was due to a suspected heart attack to an elder gentleman I heard.

Baz Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Great defensive performance and played some nice football at times too. Thought we where well worth the draw, and had the better chances to win the game. Thought Liverpool were very quiet and didn't every really put us under the cosh for a sustained period. Was sat near the halfway line, and we totally outsung the Liverpool fans throughout the game.
glen9mullan Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Fantastic performance from all involved . Bowyer lead from the front , with passion from the touch line , kicking every ball. He also clapped for the whole minute during the 20th minute applause Tactically he got it spot on and deserves a lot of credit . The players were faultless and fully deserved to get a least a replay . The suppotyers were a credit to our club for the pure noise as we bossed Anfield in the stands Proud supporter tonight

One gripe, nothing to do with us, the Anfield Road stand is the most cramped, uncomfortable place to watch a game. I know we stood up, but you can't swing a gnat in the space provided.....that and the feckin sun shone right in our eyes till H-T! Accept nothing to do with Liverpool FC, but I ask you? Still buzzing though!Meant to say as well, when you're in the thick of it can't tell how good the vocals were.....yes good to hear we were loud!

Think it was the Gestede chance early doors.
Mike Graham Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I loved the t-shirts worn by the snack bar staff. "Proud to be a Rover" or similar on the front and "9 Shearer" on the back. I asked one of the lasses to take hers off for me and she said NO!! I then asked her for a "delicious muffin" as per the meal deal and she told me to go forth.......wierd!
Doug Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Great day for us. well done GB and all the players. How much did that team cost? Eastwood - free Henley - free Baptiste - loan - free Killa - free Olsson - free Conway - £250,000 Cairney - £1m Evans - £300,000 Williamson - free Marshall - £1m Gestede - £300,000 Only guessing at some of these fees, but can't imagine I'm too far out. Not bad for a team costing around £3m?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 8, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted March 8, 2015 I think it's vital that we get King back for the replay, he'll give them something else to consider. I thought they looked ropey at the back. He gets a lot of stick from some on here, but I think Henley did well on the whole today, he could do with bulking up a bit and being more physical, but I feel like he's improving. After getting a consistent run of games, who'd have thought?

After getting a consistent run of games, who'd have thought? I thought today we set up on the break but without any pace. It simply meant giving the ball back to them time and time again. Here's hoping for better at Ewood. One of the highlights for me today was the look on Paul's face after the match as he waited with his son, watching all of the Rovers fans leave. It was a look of joy, satisfaction and relief. He and his son clearly really enjoyed the game. That was a good moment today, Paul.
USABlue Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Conways crosses lacked a bit but I thought he was marvelous today. Really enjoyed his tussles with Sterling, he did not seem to fancy it much. Perhaps mow the penny drops that we are a better defensive unit with out Hanley. Killa has a great read on the game and seems to be calming influence. Loved it just loved it. We have wait a bloody month now?
McClarky Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Great effort today. Can't believe someone is having a go at Rudi's effort. When you're playing up front alone you're doing the job of 2 players and he was superb at that today. Crowd noise came over well on TV as wel. COYB.

He's a target man being asked to play a target man as well as the striker that plays off him. He was outstanding today. People always look to criticise what players can't do, rather than praise what they can. Rudy was a darn sight more effective than Balotelli today, and cost £250k rather than £20m.

Actually thought Ballotelli played well when he came on. Gestede played well I thought, but with no one capable of running beyond him he was not only having to win the ball in the air he was having to head it backwards or try and bring it down and turn himself. He kept pretty central, but that was good imo. Cairney was the disappointment for me, never got up and beyond Rudy, I know he has no pace but he didn't gamble enough on Rudy winning the header (and he won more or less every one). And before the anticipated BBC "should have had 2 penalties" Liverpool bias, none of the home fans around us thought they where.
davulsukur Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Went to watch it with some mates in the pub. Proud. And drunk.
Backroom DE. Posted March 8, 2015 Backroom Posted March 8, 2015 Actually thought Ballotelli played well when he came on. Did he do anything other than balloon two shots over when he should have passed? Come to think of it I remember him passing the ball into Eastwood's hands as well. His introduction was a huge plus for us.
RevidgeBlue Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Overall it was an excellent performance full of guts and determination which of course makes an absolute nonsense of the fact that we find ourselves 14 points out of the playoffs. However that's a debate for another time and for today supporters are quite right to be delighted that the players have finally started to put a little bit of pride back into the shirt after a terrible few seasons

Not bad for a team costing around £3m? Yes but look of the number of players he's signed Doug! This is his squad now. Ffs, we probably paid over the highest transfer fee in that list to pay off that fecker Orr. Then there's Best, then you've got Robbos wages (he's that good no one fancies him. I suppose his weight is Bowyers fault though), and God knows who else... What's the name of that portugees no mark who turn out for the reserves now and again? Anyway, bowyer has signed well. Today was a superb battling performance against not just the form team in England, but the second best form team in Europe! Which begs the question, why can't they put that performance in more often? I think we all know. Anyway, my lad was suitably impressed with our singing! Other than YNWA at the beginning (apparently ruined by a one man pond life scumbag who decided to flex his muscles by swearing all the way through it at the top of his voice coz he's a "hard" lad) he barely heard Liverpool all game. And now it's on BBC1. Cheers!

I'd have swapped him with Marshall after 50 minutes when it was obvious nothing was happening.

I thought Cairney played well today, with that line up Gestede was always going to be lacking support.Bowyer came up with a plan today to frustrate Liverpool and it worked exceptionally well, certainly for the first hour until Gestede ran out of steam then we found ourselves penned back. Whether we can not merely frustrate Liverpool in the replay but cause them enough problems to finish the job off may be a different matter entirely. For me Rhodes must play to give Gestede more support at the expense of one of the wide men.
Backroom Tom Posted March 8, 2015 Backroom Posted March 8, 2015 If fit King is essential for me in games like this, the one man we have that nobody knows what to expect from and nobody can suitably plan for, he may (likely) have a shocker but there's that chance he can win it for us.

Come to think of it I remember him passing the ball into Eastwood's hands as well. His introduction was a huge plus for us. I thought his link up play was good, he took up some good positions inbetween our defence and midfield and caused us far more problems than Sterling who looked like he didn't fancy it. Yes his shots weren't good, but the fans around me said he did more in his sub appearance than most of the rest of the Liverpool team did in the 90. Anyhow, the highlighs made it look like the alamo, but it really wasnt.
