only2garners Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 The same as the first leg then. Remember that for cup games Rovers have to agree pricing with the other club so there probably wasn't an option for cheap prices. Anyway we sold 5,700 in 3 days at these prices for the away game.

Jim Royle Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Right, we've done how hard it is being a teacher, so much so that the attendance will be down vs Liverpool because they will all be in France for one of their well earned 13 weeks holidays. Now what about those over worked footballers who have 3 matches in a week sometimes, or those over stressed cricketers who travel the world in luxury and yet still can't bowl yorkers nor bat like they enjoy it. Anyway, back to work....
Backroom Madon Posted March 11, 2015 Backroom Posted March 11, 2015 Expensive.. paid it for the away leg though and I wouldn't miss this game for the world. I doubt everyone will be in the same mindset as me though!
Paul Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 The same as the first leg then. Remember that for cup games Rovers have to agree pricing with the other club so there probably wasn't an option for cheap prices. Anyway we sold 5,700 in 3 days at these prices for the away game. I think an element of selling out so fast was fans worrying if they would get a ticket. Under those circumstances plus the attractiveness of the fixture a sell out was relatively easy to achieve and people are less likely to consider price. Supply and demand etc. With nearly a month to think about going and the knowledge everyone will get in I suspect sales will be slower. Those undecided will delay and if cash is tight could opt for the telly. £30 doesn't put me off but I can see it might be difficult for some people and tip the balance in favour of the TV. Though I know Rovers have to agree with Liverpool on this I feel the wrong decision has been made.
cesus Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I don't really have a problem with the pricing, I'd say the price was probably agreed before the 1st game to be the same if it went to a replay anyway. As fans we really don't paint ourselves in a good light expecting tickets particularly cheaper than £30 any other club in the championship would be setting tickets at £30 as base price surely!?! The reaction by fans on Twitter is embarrassing. Don't get me wrong though a poor month on the pitch and if Rhodes joins a rival on loan could leave us with a pretty poor crowd but I don't agree that the price is too high.
Kamy100 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 No issues with price. Bolton for their replay with Liverpool had a similar pricing structure with Adult tickets starting at £26.
Proudtobeblue&white Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Same price as away tickets, and my lad still a fiver - that's ok by me.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 11, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted March 11, 2015 Nobody has any right to complain at £30 a pop when they were willing to pay that at Anfield.
barry_ Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 the club has once again closed W01 (JW Lower) for the replay . An absolutele pathetic decision based on?

Beta Ray Bill Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Aren't there scouser in there and the Riverside as well as the DE? It won't be sales. It will segregation. After what happened against Burnley I'm guessing the club is going extreme caution. I'm on seat 40 JW Upper row 8 and having to move - I don't consider myself a risk (and my 75 year old dad definitely isn't) or for that matter I don't think of my seat as being "close" to the away end.
barry_ Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 no. It's the first 50 seats of the JW Lower (the first block of the Riverside is closed as well). Before the Bolton game it's always been opened (even for Burnley). I've been there a few times and, apart from the usual banter between fans, there's never been any trouble. It won't be sales. Nothing happened at Liverpool, minimal police presence, good natured stewarding. At Blackburn it's as if they look at the home support as being the enemy.
only2garners Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Apart from the smoke bombs? Anyway its unlikely we are going to need all our seats so why does it matter?
RevidgeBlue Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 the club has once again closed W01 (JW Lower) for the replay . An absolutele pathetic decision based on? Agreed. If we're forced to close off part of the section of seating for our own fans, then an equivalent section of the Darwen End nearest to the JW stand, should be shut off as well. Will it be? I very much doubt it. Back to the bad old days of rolling over to have our tummies tickled by the "big" Clubs. I'd give 'em the minimum permissible allocation in the top tier of the Darwen End and close off the front rows of that as well to keep them as far away from the pitch as possible. Darwen End. Sod 'em. We're here to win the game not pander to their needs. There'll probably be plenty of Liverpool fans randomly dotted around home areas anyway.

It was closed off in the Riverside & JW lower end sections v Burnley last season. There was some handbags v Stoke down in the JW lower corner so that won't have helped. We won't need the seats anyway and maybe it'll help the atmo a bit huddling people together, it'll look a bit better on TV.
Stonesrick Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Is it £30 for any area of the ground or prices start at £30 for adults?
Rover_Shaun Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Rovers website makes no mention of tiered prices so I'd assume it is
Stuart Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Pretty poor show that they are restricting Rovers fans being able to buy tickets - especially a seat they sit in every week. I know why they've done it, it's because of stuff like Burnley last season. All that will happen is "supporters" will walk down to the corner on the concourse in front of the stand. Are these areas being cordoned off tonight? Or for any other games? There were absolutely no problems with the Liverpool fans being close to the Rovers fans at Anfield do I don't see there being any at Ewood. Plus, are the club going to stop Liverpool fans getting into the home areas, or even dealing with them once they are spotted? Are they heck.
West Yorks Rover Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 No issues with price. Bolton for their replay with Liverpool had a similar pricing structure with Adult tickets starting at £26. Attendance that night 22,171, 6,500 short of capacity. I guess we can expect similar.

hollowsr Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I've got to be honest and I find the ticket prices disgusting. This was Rovers chance to give something back to the fans after a disappointing season overall and they put the tickets at £30. Fans who have been week in week out watching some atrocious displays at times and it just shows the club don't give a stuff. If anyone really believes that Liverpool demanded that tickets were £30 for both need to think again, money from this means very little to them. I believe that if we had put tickets around the 20-25 mark then you could have got a great crowd at Ewood and the place really rocking for the first time in 4-5 years instead with this I can honestly see there being not too much difference between home and away fans. To charge people £30 to sit in Riverside is a joke also and once again on the TV it will look terrible as not many will choose to sit there. I've spoken to 3 other Rovers fans now and they believe the same and won't be going down for the game instead will watch at home/in the pub. If it had been a quick turnaround between the games as well then I could kind of understand however people will probably wait till they get paid etc to buy tickets in the mean time we'll play a few league games and if rest of season is anything to go by then we will perform poorly again putting people off going to the game

Firstly, Rovers hands are tied to some extent on the price. We have to charge them what they charged us. Secondly, £30 for a Cup quarter final replay against Liverpool. What's wrong with that? What do people want? Rovers pay you a tenner for going down? I often think Gordon is right when he says the Jack Walker years produced a legacy of spoon fed spoilt supporters. This is of course also the downside of having had the benefit of unbelievably cheap subsidised tickets for years. People begrudge paying a commercial sort of rate when a prestige fixture crops up occasionally.
tomphil Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 It would have been justifiable to put them at normal match prices with possibly a bit of discount to ST holders but it is a bit poor at that price. They know they'll have 7k plus Liverpool fans plus maybe loads more in the corporate seats. As said an ideal time to re engage with stay aways. Maybe Liverpool wouldn't agree to cheaper prices, are they skint too ? I see 20k.
Al Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 The price is not entirely down to Rovers. It has to be agreed with Liverpool.
