He said play offs not gone and we could win the next 8 in a row ! Gobsmacked

It's getting a little bit sad that whether we win, lose, draw, irrespective of the usually inadequate performance, we gave it a reet good go! Gary, we ain't going up, accept it, tell the Loons, see what they want to do? Nowt probably, you're in a job for life if you simply have to tell them what they want to hear.....yes we are in with a chance of Champions League footy next year......they don't even know what it is!

Think we need some signs made to influence the powers that be that warburton would be a great replacement for BG (boring Gaz)

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't have brought him on (or bought him) but it's the tactics. When Rudy starts it's just hoof hoof and he just lurks about in the middle. Recently he's started Brown with Rhodes and he's done the donkey work of pressing and closing down as that's all he's good for and it's worked so against a team as busy as Brentford I'd have gone the same way seeing as it's been working. Rudy then gives a good option to come on and mix it up.

Anyway game was lost in midfield, over run down there and up here in the middle. No answer to it from the sidelines.

Been saying for a while we need to play 5 in midfield who are not afraid of moving out of their position

A good idea; perhaps the way to make the Rao's listen is by creating signs and banners to exhibit at the next home game. Surely they couldn't possibly ignore such divisive action!

Oh wait......

Yet again Bowyer reverts to 4-4-2 with Rudy and Rhodes up front.

And YET AGAIN it doesn't work and we ended up just hoofing hopeful balls forward.

Had they done any research at all about Brentford? We just can't play Cairney and Evans together in the midfield against such a good passing side.

It's not rocket science. You wonder what the coaches do all week.

Come up against a decent manager and Bowyer is out-thought every time.

Has Warburton got a job lined up yet? Get him in..

I hope that fans don’t go down the Kean Out route this time round. With Kean it was a unique set of circumstances and was culmination of many things that he allegedly played a part in (Big Sam leaving, John and Tom going, Influence of Agents and Turning the press against the fans).

This is not the case with Gary, on the field we all hoped for much more but he remains a genuinely nice guy.

The other thing is despite what fans say and do, the owners will not take a blind bit of notice. They will do as they please and the board at Ewood won’t question or challenge them, it is all very much “yes madam”.

TBH there isnt enough fans left these days to do anything close to the kean out stuff and the ones that are left are asleep for most of the game

But he's not a good football manager, and time isn't a luxury we have waiting for him to get it right. We aren't looking for a future son in law, we're looking for a manager of our football club to motivate and get the most out of the players on a consistent basis. Something that sadly hasn't happened enough.

It doesn't matter what the owners do you have said all along if the fans turn he will walk away, I very much doubt he will personally.

If it takes the fans to turn to take us forward then so be it.

I don't think the fans will go down the 'Kean Out' route. Instead they will just vote with their feet and stop going.

It's already happening. A couple at the side of me and a family of three in front a bit further along who've all been there every game this season now haven't been since we lost to Norwich. Dread to think what crowds will be next season, prob average about 12 k including aways. The idiots in office will just sit and fiddle whilst Rome burns though, it won't effect their pay packets.

Nice guy or not, he's paid a bloody lot of money to get results. A salary only 99.9% of Rovers' fans can dream of.

If the V's wont take any notice and he wont hold his hand up like Adam did at Norwich (not up to the job) and resign / walk, then he will have to take whatever comes his way from the fans.

I have no sympathy with Bowyer, he took the job knowing the rewards and pressures that come with it.

If you can't stand the heat.........................

There is no heat because there is no pressure for him to go.

Yes, he's paid to get results and overall they haven't been great but they haven't been bad either.

So there's no way he will feel under pressure to resign and only a fool would give such a salary - and Bowyer isn't a fool.

Bowyer will be here next term and assuming Venky's won't sack him the only way he will depart is he results are so dire next season he decides out of decency to walk away.

Success rate as coach: 36,2 % Wins

30,7 % Draw

33,1 % Losses

not good enough to get past the holy grail of Stability

If we stay with this management team we'll be in real trouble next season.

I couldn't agree more. People have worked Gary out..... some opposing managers finally stayed awake, during a scouting mission, when watching us. They then realised that all we do is sit back when we score. Everyone who stands around me can see it, along with a whole catalogue of other poor decisions.

His apathy towards games, when we go one up, is nothing short of an insult to fans who pay to watch.

CLOWN OUT!

I can't imagine a repeat of the hatred that Kean quite rightly was on the receiving end of. Whilst GB may well not be up to he job of getting us promoted I don't see him as another Kean.

It's the hope that kills you .

I guess the Bowyer situation comes down to your expectations based on our squad.

If you genuinely feel the squad , which Gary has assembled is capable of top 6 , then he's done a good job in assembling that squad of players, but too many times failed to get it tactically right .

If you feel we are not capable of the top 6 then it really comes down to a few things

Player recruitment , lack of spending (embargo was coming , but that happened 3 months ago not 18 months ago ). Managers hands probably been tied through the self preservation board who are being judged on the balance sheets , NOT league position .

Personally I think Bowyer is a top bloke who has the potential to be an ok manager at some point , however circumstances of where we are as a club and crowd expectations make rovers not that club.

We have fallen from grace far too quickly under the ownership of Venkys , far too many decisions which are beyond logic have been made , when ultimately all rovers have ever needed under Venkys is experienced strong leadership in the boardroom and dugout . You'd think after all these years they would have realised this , sadly they have not .

Football is the wrong business to play guinea pigs with , the financial liabilities and implications are so great that clubs can go extinct very quickly , where their heritage and history becomes just a distant memory , where those fortunate enough can remember to tell their grandchildren .

Gary Bowyer has the impossible task , he works for owners who are clueless , a board who have only their own interest at the forefront , whilst a crowd which has halved in just 3 years , who simply no longer the patience to wait around to watch the decline continue .

Personally I think we hsvd underachieved this season .

It's been one of the most boring , non event seasons for a long time . 95% of the time the football has been poor , our tactics poor and the fact we fail to field the same team twice , tells me Bowyer ain't got a clue who his best 11 is . If he don't know that , then little wonder we have made a zero promotion push this season .

Had we had a Manager, rather than a work in progress, I think we would be top 6.

With each day this experiment continues , the need to off load assets to balance the growing losses grows . One thing rovers have not , is time .

Someone said to me last night that Venkys could have been good owners , however when they continue to make the same mistakes , fail to listen or engage with it's paying customer , then that day of them becoming enlightened and doing the right thing is never going to come .

I'm resigned now that Premiership football is a thing of the past and next season will be more about retaining our Championship status .

I've had some awesome memories in the years I've supported our club , from seeing our team promoted , win the league , win the league cup , win the full members cup and play in Europe . Some supporters of other clubs won't witness 10% of that , whilst sadly some of our newer supporters and future supporters will never experience that either .

Couldn't disagree more Tyrone. The present coaching and management team will keep us in a comfortable position in the Championship at the very least. Much will depend on who goes and who can be brought in under the embargo.

Is this what the club needs though? How long does stability last before we decide to try to do what Burnley have done with Dyche or even what Brentford have done with Warburton?

The lazy response from some is that we'll never get Mourinho. We don't need a Mourinho, just a manager who can get the best out of the player at his disposal. Bowyer is not doing that.

I disagree Stuart, I think recent performances at Charlton, Sheffield, Liverpool, Watford etc. show that he is getting performances from the players. Sadly, this season we have not been consistent enough and that, combined with a number of individual errors, has meant we haven't got the points we would have hoped for.
